The Singapore Police Force announced earlier today that the Bedok North and Bedok South Neighbourhood Police Centres will be merged on 31 January to form Bedok Neighbourhood Police Centre (NPC).
The new Bedok NPC is set to operate at the same place as Bedok North NPC at 30 Bedok North Road, while Bedok South NPC at 20 Chai Chee Drive, will be converted to a police post – Bedok South Neighbourhood Police Post (NPP).
The police said the both the Bedok NPC and Bedok South NPP will continue to provide residents with round-the-clock counter services.
The upcoming Bedok NPC will be working closely with their partners, stakeholders and the residents to ensure a smooth transition.
Bedok NPC is the first merger under the NPC merger plan with another 3 other mergers still under review.
The police explained that the mergers aim to serve the public better by pooling their resources from smaller, geographically linked NPCs to create a bigger base of operations.
They assured the public that service standards and response to incidents will not be affected by the mergers.
