In a recent development, the Community Development Council (CDC) and the People’s Association (PA) have issued a vital warning about the circulation of scam links masquerading as CDC Voucher redemption links online. This alert comes as Singaporean households gear up for the digital redemption of S$500 worth of CDC vouchers starting Jan. 3, 2024.
Acknowledging the severity of the situation, Central Singapore CDC has taken proactive measures by filing a police report and collaborating closely with the authorities in ongoing investigations. This swift response underscores the commitment of these organizations to safeguarding the public from potential scams.
CDC Voucher Redemption Details
As of January 3, 2024, all Singaporean households have the opportunity to digitally redeem S$500 worth of CDC vouchers. These vouchers are designed to alleviate the financial strain of the rising cost of living and contribute to supporting local hawkers and heartland merchants.
The rollout date marks a significant step in the initiative, opening avenues for households to access the much-needed financial support during these challenging times.
Beyond providing financial relief, the CDC vouchers aim to fortify the local economy by encouraging residents to patronize local businesses, thus fostering community support.

Warning Against SMS Scams
Amid the excitement of the voucher redemption, there is a cautionary note. Residents are urged to be vigilant and watch out for SMS messages that request personal or banking details.
To claim the CDC vouchers, one member from each household needs to log in with their Singpass. The process is entirely digital, ensuring a streamlined and secure experience for users.
A critical point to note is that legitimate messages from “Redeem SG” will never request personal or banking details through SMS. Residents are advised to exercise caution and report any suspicious messages.
Ensuring the legitimacy of the voucher link is crucial. Legitimate CDC voucher links will always start with the prefix https://voucher.redeem.gov.sg. Residents should verify this prefix before proceeding with any redemption process.
