A video emerged online showing an accident that happened on an expressway involving a BlueSG car and a lorry.
The accident happened along the CTE on 2 May at about 12pm, and it was captured on the rearcam of another vehicle in front.
The BlueSG car was seen in the video losing control and smashing into the rear of a lorry that was slowing down, completely destroying the front of the car.
The occupants of the lorry in front could be seen being flung forward inside the lorry cabin.
A netizen commented on the video and explained how the engine and gas pedal of the electric BlueSG car works:
BlueSg (EV) car has a highly sensitive gas pedal compared to the normal engine car. The moment you slam the gas pedal, the acceleration is very high due to its high torque.
When you release the gas pedal, the car decelerates very quickly without applying brake pedal compared to the normal engine car. Also, the brake pedal needs to be extremely cautious as this will result in jam brake.
BlueSg car remained stationary without depressing the gas pedal either in drive or reverse gear. Therefore, I urged non-ev drivers need to take extra careful and cautious while driving ev.
