Context
Context of their conversation is that the employee was informing his or her boss that he or she is on MC, and could not make it to work for two days.
The boss then acknowledged it but a few hours later after midnight, texted the employee to check the admin phone as if the boss is still asking the employee to work.
Unhappy that he or she still needs to answer to work related queries, the netizen asked if it is allowed for bosses to ask employees to work even though the employee is on MC.

Despite you being on MC, students and parents still need a way to communicate with the centre. However, if you’ve tried to handover your responsibilities but your boss rejects and asks you to handle it, then f- her 🙂 - As a boss, one should also make sure that the sole responsibility of a certain is not on a single employee, no?
Would it be the employee’s fault if they become incapacitated from illness or an accident and there’s no one to take over? - But over here the employee made 0 suggestion that he/she cannot check the phone. If they told the boss they cannot check, then the boss might offer a different solution. Like maybe the boss will suggest grab express the phone to her or someone else?
The boss’ communication was clear right, she’s scared that someone will call the admin phone and no one answers. The employee said okay. If never even communicate with the boss, I will give the benefit of the doubt to the boss.
