This video, filmed on Cairnhill Road, Singapore, showcased a heart-pounding incident that unfolded on September 3rd at around 5:09 PM.

As a car descended down the winding Cairnhill Road towards Orchard Road, a young boy suddenly dashed onto a busy road to retrieve his ball and almost got run over by a car, with the driver slamming the brakes and screaming in horror at the close call.

A Moment of Panic

As the driver approached the green light near The Heeren, between Victoria’s Secret and H&M, a seemingly ordinary afternoon quickly turned into a heart-stopping moment. Out of nowhere, a young boy, without any warning, darted onto the road, picked up a ball that had presumably rolled onto the road, and dashed back to the sidewalk.

Inside the car, chaos ensued. The driver’s reaction was instantaneous. She slammed on her brakes, causing a screech that pierced the air.

In the midst of the commotion, she could be heard screaming in horror as well.

A Narrow Escape

What exactly made the boy dash onto the road with such haste? It was a small, seemingly inconspicuous orange ball that had rolled onto the road’s surface. In the blink of an eye, the boy had risked his life to retrieve it.

The TikToker recounted the close call: “Thank God I slowed down to avoid the ball.” It was her quick reflexes and presence of mind that prevented a tragedy from occurring that day.

As the car came to a halt and the boy safely retrieved his precious orange ball, a man who had been watching the scene unfold from the side of the road reached out his arm and appeared to be comforting the boy.

The TikToker concluded her video with a heartfelt plea to parents everywhere: “Dear parent, please hold on to your kids!”
