This time round I will mosaic the boy’s face. If it happens again I will have to reveal the face to create awareness. Today 7 Feb at around 3.45pm my niece checked into Ikea Tampines playroom. Note Ikea doesn’t allow adults to accompany kids inside. I watched from the window outside and saw this boy pinning my niece into the ball pool. She was screaming and crying for help. I knocked on the glass and the boy gave a smile. I tried to look for the Ikea staff but no one was there and I couldn’t access.
I raised my voice for help and finally, the Ikea staff appeared and pulled my niece out. By then she was crying badly. I requested to speak to the parents of this boy and the so-called Auntie (she claimed the boy is her nephew) took her own sweet time to come.
I then realized she was joined by this foreigner who has been standing outside the playroom since my niece was pinned down. So this guy did NOTHING. The so-called auntie told me the boy tends to play rough. I said by pinning a little girl into the ball pool until she can’t breathe is considered PLAYING rough? I asked them to get the boy out to apologize. But of them were unapologetic in my opinion but they still tried to get the boy to apologize. The boy refused and the foreigner said it is Ikea’s fault that they do not allow adults to accompany. Finally, the so-called auntie made the boy said sorry albeit very unwillingly so we let the matter rest. To the parents of this boy, if you are going to blame other people,
I don’t know if the foreigner is the father as he did not identify himself throughout the entire episode, pls be RESPONSIBLE and accountable for your own kid’s actions. Totally shameful. If it happens again, I will post the uncensored pic and we can pick it up should you think you are still right.
