
According to a media release, a British national and his Singaporean fiancee will be charged in court today(15 Jan) for breaching Stay Home Notice (SHN) requirement.
It was reported that the man was placed on SHN in a hotel but he was caught leaving the room on three occasions on 21 Sep 2020. On the last occasion, he went to meet his fiancee who was not on SHN. It was said that his fiancee has booked another room in the same hotel to facilitate their meeting.
The man did not wear a mask when he was leaving his hotel room. Both he and his fiancee will be charged under the Temporary Measures COVID-19 Act. If convicted, they could face a jail term up to 6 months and fine up to $10,000.
