A commercial building in Changsha City, China, collapsed last Friday, as the latest death toll of the tragedy has since risen to 53 people.
The collapsed building contained a hotel, cinema and apartments.
State media announced the end of the rescue missions following 6 days of trying to free trapped survivors under the rubble and metals.
Local media reported that the search and rescue work at the collapse site has been “completed”, with 10 people rescued and 53 people dead.
An official of the city, Wu Guiying, apologised “sincerely” for the tragedy and said that she was distressed by the incident.
An investigation team has also been set up to look into the collapse of the building by the State Council, China’s Cabinet.
