Announced as part of the Household Support Package in Budget 2021, about 1.3 million Singaporean households will receive $100 CDC Vouchers.
However, multiple netizens pointed out that it is not easy to use it due to participating vendors not doing their part of accepting.
Here is a recent incident that happened at Bukit Batok:
I was buying my lunch at the Blk 632 Bukit Batok Central coffeeshop, Happy Hawker. There is this vegetarian store, clearly has the CDC voucher sticker on it and when I wanted to buy my lunch using the voucher, the aunty attending to me said today cannot use the voucher. The reason given was they do not accept the voucher on the 1st and 15th day of the lunar month.
I asked her is there such a ruling, she said no and told me because there are many people so they cannot allow the use of the voucher on the 1st and 15th day of the lunar month because many people. I was like huh???But when I was there, there were not many people queuing up at the store. Probably this aunty find it troublesome to scan or what…take note of this…

Netizns poked fun
- The auntie thinks she burning paper money ah offerings. must wait 1st and 15th? wth.
- Me too, once went to a chicken rice stall at BB blk 395A wanted to use the CDC voucher but the staff say cannot use, reason being only 1 particular staff can help to scan the cdc voucher, the rest cannot help.. so if that staff is not around, we can’t use the cdc voucher.
- Beside owner, other staff could install App on their phone and scan too. Probably Auntie doesn’t know how to use the App.
- Our government should tell these hawkers who are participating this cdc better don’t participate if they comes out all these nonsense and Don’t say that government didn’t help them
