A cam car’s footage showing an incident on the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) on 23 January 2022 at approximately 1157 hours has emerged on social media.
According to the seen footage, the cam car is accusing a BMW vehicle bearing the license plate number of SKJ8889S of speeding and overtaking from the extreme left lane all the way to the first lane which the cam car was on.
After the BMW has successfully sped and filtered all the way to the first lane in front of the cam car, the cam car then says that the BMW slowed down on purpose even though the traffic in front was clear.
Cam car was ‘road hogging’
Netizens commented that the cam car was road hogging on the first lane, based on the speed where the car was going compared to the rest of the cars on the road.
They added that the first lane is for overtaking or emergency and not for vehicles who intend to go slow to be on.
Many also added that the cam car should not be there at the first place and said that he was asking for it.
Cam car defended actions
The Cam car also seemed to defend his actions by saying that according to traffic police, as long the vehicle is travelling at road speed limit it is not considered road hogging.
He also focused on the actions of the BMW vehicle and seemed to take umbrage at the way where the BMW sped and filtered in.
