The Scene Unfolds

The incident, which took place before 7 a.m., was captured in a video shared on the “sgfollowsall” Instagram page. Although the video has since been taken down, it provided crucial insights into the incident.

In the footage, filmed from the perspective of another motorist, a black sedan was seen upside down, occupying the right-most lane of the three-lane road. The car’s right bumper was visibly damaged, indicating the severity of the accident.

Moreover, there was a trail of debris scattered near the car, and its right-side doors were ajar, adding to the chaotic scene. The presence of a police motorbike and SCDF vehicles, including a fire engine, emphasized the urgency of the situation.

The police and SCDF personnel rushed to the scene upon receiving the distress call. It was reported that a 63-year-old male driver was inside the overturned car, conscious but in need of medical attention.

The incident unfolded along Choa Chu Kang Way, a key thoroughfare, at approximately 7:30 p.m., as indicated by the video’s caption.

This location is significant as Choa Chu Kang Way leads towards Choa Chu Kang Road, an area with heavy traffic and residential neighborhoods.

As of now, preliminary information suggests that it was a single-car accident. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

Similar accidents

An accident occurred on Thursday at about 8 pm, involving two cars traveling on the Central Expressway (CTE) towards the Seletar Expressway (SLE). This incident took place at the slip road heading towards the Braddell Road exit.

In this case, a dark sedan collided with a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), causing the MPV to turn turtle. The momentum of the collision caused the MPV to slide along the road and flip over again. A 66-year-old male driver and a 44-year-old female passenger from the MPV were taken conscious to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

A video posted on the SGRV Facebook page documented the collision sequence. It showed the dark sedan crossing a road chevron before colliding with the MPV, which was taking the slip road exit towards Braddell Road. The sedan then moved back across the Braddell flyover exit before crashing into a hedge in the middle of the road.

The video concluded with a man in a T-shirt alighting from the sedan and hurrying to the flipped-over MPV to check on the occupants inside.

As with the first accident, the police have launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding this collision.
