CAR RENTAL COMPANY RENTS OUT CAR THAT CANNOT START, REFUSE RESPONSIBILITY

I would like to share my horrendous experience on my most recent Car rental with the Company “ V**** C** R***** Pte Ltd”.

This is the second time I have rented a car with them.On the 07 Aug 2021, I rented a car via WhatsApp to their hotline (****1907, their customer service hotline) from 7 Aug 2021 – 11 Aug 2021.

At 4 pm I collected the Toyota Vios (SMS2730J), with some scratches on the exterior and some screen crack at the front, there isn’t any security car cam installed at the front nor the rear of the car. ( Photos as the post below)On the 9 Aug (National Day), I went out to grab lunch and parked the car at the carpark of my area @ 2:15 pm.( I make sure that I off the all signal lights, air-con and the engine before locking and leaving the car)

At 5:15 pm I went back to get the car as I wanted to go get some snacks. I tried starting the car engine and I’m unable to start-up the car. To my horror the car is unable to start, the logo indicator shows low oil pressure and battery light on. Right away I contacted ****1517 ( one of their assistant ), he called me to ask someone to jumpstart the car if not he would need to come over, he ask me to help him with taking photos of the engine oil level told me the oil level is enough, he will come over and take a look.

At 9:25pm Kumar (****798) arrived the carpark and did a test on the battery, he was saying that he need to change the car battery. Kumar made a few texts and voice messages and decided to do a jumpstart with his Van. The Toyota Vios was start up and Kumar let the engine run for around 5-10mins and plucked out the jumpstart. He then check the battery and telling me nothing is wrong with the battery. I’m worried that same issues might happens again I told Kumar if the battery goes off again please replace me with another car, he assured me that the battery is ok nothing is wrong, and I went back home.

At 11:40pm, my fiancée & I decided to leave the house for supper, we took the car and drove to Punggol Haibin which is nearby to takeaway supper. We parked at Punggol Haibin carpark( I make sure that I off the all signal lights, air-con and the engine before locking and leaving the car once again) And went to takeaway our foods. In less than 15minutes, we went back to get the car and I’m unable to startup the car as the battery indicator shown up once again.

At 12:05am I texted them telling them that the car battery has issue again. I called one of my friend that stayed nearby to come over to help to jumpstart the car. My friend opened up the bonnet hood of the car and pointed out that the battery is nearly 2years old as the date stated on the battery is 20-08-2019I called Kumar notified him that the battery died again and I ask my friend over to help with jumpstarting the car, Kumar ask me to drive over to 6D Mandai Estate #10-05 M-Space to change a car with them, it’s too troublesome to go and travel back to my area as it’s already 12+am, Kumar than come over to change a car for me.Kumar arrived my carpark at around 12:55am, exchanged this Toyota Vios with a Honda Stream and I asked him if he could do any compensation or time extension as such incident occurred, he say he will let me know again the next day.On 10 Aug, I dropped a text to Them as half of the day of the National Day is gone due to the car issue ask if there’s any compensate or refund, there’s no reply and messages were all seen, I called him and ask, he ask me to WhatsApp the hotline (****1907) which was their supervisor.I’ve screenshot all our content on the photos below, I have never experienced such poor customer service with not a single apology from them.

Until the end, they are still pushing the blame.

They kept mentioning that the battery was fully operational and that there is nothing wrong with it. The intent to rent a car on a PH is so that we can enjoy the convenience and family time for the long weekend, it could be just our luck that we received a lemon that caused us so much problem during our rental period.

What really shocked us is the service and attitude after we feedback the issue to Vogue Car Rental. Not only did they not apologized and give us reasonable compensation for the time lost during our rental period, we get the sense from the Whatsapp text that are hinting that the whole incident issue lies with us. I am sharing my experience here to warn any fellow consumer out there to think twice before you consider giving your business to Vogue Car Rental.

Not unless you want to have a taste of having to continue troubleshooting your rental car and getting your blood pressure up when you try giving honest experience feedback to the company.After insisting that it is not their issue and I cannot do anything about it. I have returned the car after the 5 day rental promptly.
