Unraveling the Tragedy

According to the Singapore Police Force (SPF), the preliminary investigation suggests that the car involved in the incident had self-skidded along a slip road on the CTE.

The details of what led to the skid remain unknown, but the aftermath painted a haunting picture of devastation.

Videos of the incident, shared on social media platforms such as Facebook and TikTok, revealed the horrifying aftermath.

The impact had torn the car into two clean pieces, leaving the front portion of the vehicle lying exposed on one of the lanes.

The back seats and wheels of the car, however, had been violently flung some distance away, coming to a rest on a road divider.

Swift Response and Ongoing Investigation

Multiple personnel from both the Singapore Police Force and the Singapore Civil Defence Force were deployed to the scene to provide immediate assistance.

A blue tent normally used to cover dead bodies was seen erected on the grass patch.

1 dead and 2 injured

According to Shin Min Daily News, a 26-year-old male passenger lost his life in the ordeal. The impact was so severe that he was flung out of the backseat of the vehicle, succumbing to his injuries at the scene.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

First responders were able to rescue another conscious man who had been trapped in the driver’s seat. The Singapore Civil Defence Force employed hydraulic rescue equipment to free him from the wreckage.

Beside the trapped driver was a female passenger, also 26, who was found unconscious in the front seat as well.

Both the male driver and the female passenger were then transported to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.

Police investigations into the fatal accident are currently underway.
