Singapore has recently implemented new laws disallowing unvaccinated persons from entering malls, attractions, hawkers, coffee shops and large standalone stores.
Exemptions have however been made for the unvaccinated who need to enter such premises for their medical appointments and to pick up their children from childcare centers and preschools.
However, the authorities have recently came out to clarify that these exceptions are only for children attending childcare centers and preschools but not those who are attending tuition and enrichment classes.
A spokesperson from Enterprise Singapore has said that the unvaccinated caregivers should make alternative arrangements for the children who has to attend tuition and enrichment classes in malls, such as arranging for a vaccinated person to send and fetch the child instead.
If they are unable to make such arrangements, they also have the option of taking a Pre-event test (PET) which would allow them access to the mall.
Singapore is currently in the midst of a week long adjustment period to the new rules, from Oct 13 to Oct 19.
