CARPARK GANTRY MALFUNCTIONED @ CHANGI VILLAGE, DRIVERS STUCK FOR 3 HRS

The gantry at a Changi Village carpark reportedly malfunctioned and left the stranded drivers stuck there for 3 hours, according to Shin Min Daily News.

The incident happened near Changi Village block 1 on 1 January, with a reader telling SMDN that he first noticed the malfunctioning gantry at about 6.30pm.

Soon, more and more people gathered in the area as they waited for the gantry to be fixed, with many people were seen standing around waiting for the issue to be resolved, even after it became dark.

The reader said that he had contacted the Changi Village management’s hotline at 6pm to tell them about the situation, but no technicians arrived.

He then called them again at 8pm, 2 hours later, but this time nobody answered the phone.

The technicians finally arrived at 9pm, after 3 hours, and transported the stranded vehicles out of the carpark one by one.

The reader eventually left the Changi Village at 9.50pm, almost 4 hours after being stranded.
