Good news for all riders, LTA has announced that carpooling will resume in Phase 2. Here is what LTA stated on their Facebook page.
To protect the well-being and safety of drivers and passengers, all forms of carpooling have been disallowed.
From this Friday however, most will be allowed to resume with the exception of informal paid carpooling arrangements made via platforms such as Telegram and chat groups. Such informal bookings make contact tracing, which is key to our safe reopening, extremely challenging.
In a nutshell, from 19 June, you will be allowed to:
✅ Ride with relatives, friends and colleagues in the same vehicle
✅ Book carpooling trips through official ride-hail mobile apps
✅ Book a ride directly with limousine drivers and other licensed PHC drivers
