A netizen shared how he think that he would betray everyone he knows if he was offered a better life and he’s scared.
Here is the story:
I consider myself a mentally strong individual, with a good sense of justice and a very strong morality.
And yet everyday it eats at me because I wonder if this is just an unconscious act of rebellion against those better off with me and that I would throw everyone I know under the bus if in return I was offered a ticket to the elite class.
It’s not that I know for certain I would, but just that I legitimately do not know because I have never know anything more than my situation.
I have never been an elite. I just see all the tyrants of the world constantly popping into power and wonder if they too had been good people with a good vision at some point or another.
I live in constant misery wondering if everything and everyone I think I care about is just a result of my situation.
Am I breakable?
Netizens comments
They say everyone has a price.
Sounds like you’d sell your soul. Which is kinda what it is. No one gets “elite” status without stepping on a few orchids.
Everyone has morals and ethics until they’re being offered a briefcase full of money.
A 30-year-old man from Sri Lanka, Eshan Tharaka Koottage, who allegedly killed his wife at the Holiday Inn Express hotel at Katong, was charged in court earlier today (11 September) with her murder, according to The Straits Times.
He is charged with killing his wife, 32-year-old Diyawinnage Sewwandi Maduka Kumari, on Saturday (9 September) sometime between 10.45am and 4.42pm.
According to MustShareNews, Eshan and the deceased were purportedly tourists from Sri Lanka having their holiday here in Singapore.
The two had just arrived in Singapore when they got into an argument, during which Eshan then allegedly killed his wife with a knife.
He then changed out of his clothes and left the hotel room, heading to a nearby police station to turn himself in to the police.
Lianhe Zaobao reported that the alleged murder took place on the 9th floor of the hotel.
He had turned himself in at the Marine Parade Neighbourhood Police Centre and told police officers that he had killed his wife, and officers then went to his hotel room and found the deceased with a slash wound, lying motionless; she was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Eshan appeared in court earlier today via video link and conversed via a Sinhalese interpreter, and he was also unrepresented.
The prosecution requested for permission to bring him back to the crime scene to recover exhibits and also asked for him to be remanded for a week.
In court, Eshan also requested to engage a lawyer via the Sri Lankan High Commission, who have been informed of the case. However, Eshan is not allowed to communicate with anyone at the moment because investigations into the murder are currently ongoing.
He is expected to return to court on 18 September and if convicted of murder, he faces the mandatory death penalty.
Recap
A 30-year-old man was apprehended by the police on Saturday for the alleged murder of his 32-year-old wife at a hotel along Katong, according to The Straits Times.
The harrowing saga began on a seemingly ordinary Saturday evening around 5.05 pm when the man walked into the Marine Parade Neighbourhood Police Centre. He confessed to the officers that he had taken the life of his wife at a hotel located in East Coast Road.
While the police did not initially disclose the name of the hotel, The Straits Times reported that the grim incident occurred at the Holiday Inn Express Singapore Katong.
Upon receiving the alarming confession, officers swiftly made their way to the hotel room mentioned by the suspect, where they found the lifeless body of the woman, bearing a slash wound, lying motionless.
She was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.
The man, who had voluntarily turned himself in, was promptly arrested at the Marine Parade Neighbourhood Police Centre. A knife believed to be the murder weapon was discovered in the hotel room and seized as well.
The police have announced that the suspect will be charged with murder, and he is set to appear in court on Monday. In Singapore, individuals convicted of murder can face severe penalties, including the death penalty or life imprisonment coupled with caning.
The Singapore Police Force arrested a 39-year-old man for allegedly attacking a 40-year-old man with a knife along Jalan Besar on 9 September.
The Dispute Unfolds
The police were alerted to a fight in progress on that day. Upon arriving at the scene, they discovered two men engaged in a heated dispute.
Preliminary investigations by the police revealed that this altercation was not a random act of violence. Instead, it was the result of an ongoing disagreement between the two individuals, which had finally escalated to a dangerous level.
With the aid of images from police cameras and ground enquiries, officers from the Central Police Division, supported by their counterparts from the Police Operations Command Centre and Bedok Police Division, swiftly identified the assailant and arrested him within 8 hours of the incident.
Evidence Seized
During the arrest, the police confiscated two knives believed to be involved in the attack. Additionally, they secured the victim’s shirt, which was seen heavily stained with blood.
The assailant will face legal repercussions for his actions. He is scheduled to be charged in court on September 11, where he will face charges of voluntarily causing hurt with a dangerous weapon.
If convicted, he could be sentenced to a prison term of up to seven years, a hefty fine, caning or any combination of the punishments.
This incident serves as a stark reminder for the public regarding the seriousness of carrying offensive or scheduled weapons in public places. It is essential to note that such actions are illegal and can lead to severe consequences under the law.

About 2 weeks ago, a 23-year-old man was arrested for possession of offensive weapons, including a karambit knife and a knuckle duster.
Police officers were performing checks on him along Victoria Street at the time when the man tried to flee, before being detained by the officers who then found the weapons in his possession.
He was also found to be in possession of suspected illegal drugs, and was subsequently charged in court.
A girl shared a story of how she had a collection of ‘toys’ in her room and since she was living with her husband alone in the flat, they did not bother to keep the ‘toys’ away and out of sight.
What happened was one day her parents in law came over to live with them as it was nearer to the hospital which the grandfather in law was hospitalised in and the toy was just hanging above their heads when they came in to tell them that the grandfather in law has died.
Here is the story
“I live with my husband and few months back his parents came over to live with us because it was closer to the hospital.
At this point, my husband’s grandpa was in the hospital because of his stage 4 cancer and was going to go anytime soon.
Of course, I let them know that if they needed anything in the morning to just knock on our bedroom door.
The next morning, I hear a knock that wakes me up and I’m thinking that his mom just doesn’t know where the coffee is. I answer and she just walks right in. It’s important to note that my fiancé’s family is incredibly religious.
Because right above me on the headboard are a few of my toys including a massive 8 inch ‘cucumber’ that just didn’t make it back into the drawer after being washed a few days prior. And of course I can’t just put it away without drawing more attention to it.
Anyways, his mom goes and sits on his side of the bed and hasn’t noticed the ‘cucumber’ right above me yet. And then she breaks the news. My husband’s grandpa died.
She’s sobbing and hugging us. And then I see her look just above me. And she stares at this ‘cucumber’ for a good 30 seconds, makes awkward eye contact with me, and then immediately leaves.
She definitely prayed a little harder for us that night.”

On a Thursday, two separate road accidents occurred at Jurong West and along the Central Expressway (CTE), leaving 3 people hospitalised and prompting the police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) to launch investigations.
The First Accident: Motorcycle and Car Collision
The first incident took place at 7.40 pm at the junction of Jurong West Street 63 towards Jurong West Street 64. It involved a motorcycle and a car, and it unfolded in a matter of seconds.
A 51-year-old male motorcyclist was involved in the collision. Fortunately, he remained conscious and was promptly taken to the National University Hospital for medical attention.
A video shared on the SG Road Vigilante (SGRV) Facebook page captured the moment of impact. As the motorcycle crossed the junction, it clipped the front of a silver sedan that was waiting to make a discretionary right turn. The collision sent the rider and his bike careening across the junction before they landed in some bushes.
The 45-year-old male car driver is cooperating with the police investigations at the time of writing.
The Second Accident: Collision on the Central Expressway
The second accident occurred at about 8 pm, involving two cars traveling on the Central Expressway (CTE) towards the Seletar Expressway (SLE). This incident took place at the slip road heading towards the Braddell Road exit.
In this case, a dark sedan collided with a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), causing the MPV to turn turtle. The momentum of the collision caused the MPV to slide along the road and flip over again. A 66-year-old male driver and a 44-year-old female passenger from the MPV were taken conscious to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
A video posted on the SGRV Facebook page documented the collision sequence. It showed the dark sedan crossing a road chevron before colliding with the MPV, which was taking the slip road exit towards Braddell Road. The sedan then moved back across the Braddell flyover exit before crashing into a hedge in the middle of the road.
The video concluded with a man in a T-shirt alighting from the sedan and hurrying to the flipped-over MPV to check on the occupants inside.
As with the first accident, the police have launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding this collision.
So long story short, I have a personal rule to never drink alcohol. I have a myriad of reasons from general health to honouring loved ones, but that’s not the point. The point is that I do not drink ever.
My girlfriend and I went to her family party and apparently, they have a tradition of everyone taking a shot to honour one of their dead relatives. Everyone does it at the same time and talks about what they’re thankful for and everything, but I told the person handing me the shot I wouldn’t drink, and he looked at me funny.
Her cousin pointed me out before they drank it and said I need a shot and I said no I’m ok I don’t drink and he said it’s just one shot and I said no I can’t but please continue I’ll just drink something else and they refused to start.
I ended up leaving after being egged on too much and my girlfriend apologized for me and we left. She did her best to defend me but her family is just stubborn. Everyone was talking about me apparently saying that I was selfish and that I was ruining the night.
It was just one shot but I’ don’t know, I couldn’t bring myself to do it.
Here are what netizens think:
That’s very inconsiderate of them. You could be a recovering alcoholic or whatever. It’s never a good idea to push someone to drink alcohol. Never! And that’s coming from someone who likes to drink… Respect people’s boundaries!
I mean, alcohol is such a weird thing to pressure people about. Or maybe it’s just me? In general though, the alcohol isn’t as important as the fact that they pressured him into doing something he doesn’t want to, with no regard to his boundaries. ‘No’ is a complete sentence. If they can’t respect that, pick a better tradition.
Sometimes people feel threatened by the actions of others. For example: if a person likes to drink a little too much, they might feel subconsciously guilty about it. And other people not drinking holds up a mirror to their faces. But if everyone was drinking too, they wouldn’t feel so guilty about it. It is obviously not true for everyone, but sometimes it’s the case.
Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong was recently invited to the G20 Summit in India, and his entrance at the summit was also covered by Indian English news outlet, India Today, on their YouTube channel.
However, they made a significant mistake by referring to Singapore President-elect Tharman Shanmugaratnam as the “next Prime Minister” of Singapore, instead of Lawrence Wong who is the correct person.
India Today also emphasized Tharman’s “Indian origin”, when he is actually a 4th-generation Singaporean.
The Confusion: President or Prime Minister?
First, it’s crucial to clarify the position of Mr. Tharman Shanmugaratnam. Contrary to India Today’s assertion, he is not the next Prime Minister of Singapore. In fact, he recently won the presidential election on September 1st, making him the next President of Singapore.
The confusion surrounding Mr. Tharman’s designation as the “next Prime Minister” remains puzzling, especially since he was not even present at the G20 Summit. It raises questions about how such an error could occur during a high-profile international event.
During the G20 Summit, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong had several diplomatic engagements. He congratulated India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi on hosting a successful summit, showcasing Singapore’s commitment to maintaining strong diplomatic relations with India and other nations.
The mistake made by India Today’s YouTube channel didn’t go unnoticed. A netizen posted the gaffe online on 10 September and it quickly gained traction online and sparking discussions.
Reactions to India Today’s blunder were varied. While some were critical of the mistake, many seemed more focused on PM Lee’s charismatic presence. Some even playfully suggested that his walk had a “model vibe” and could rival that of supermodels.
Diplomatic Engagements
During the G20 Summit, PM Lee had the opportunity to meet various world leaders. In addition to his meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he also engaged with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
PM Lee’s meeting with UK PM Rishi Sunak resulted in a Joint Declaration to elevate bilateral relations to a Strategic Partnership. He described this as a “new era” for both sides, emphasizing cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, science, technology, sustainability, and the green economy.; as well as welcoming UK’s Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
A netizen shared how he cheated on his girlfriend with a guy friend and described the experience as being “amazing” and “godly”.
Here is the story
My head is kinda spinning right now. Two days ago I hung out with my friend and we both got a little drunk. He always jokingly flirts with me but I never thought he was serious about it.
We were both very drunk and we start talking about getting intimacy and he starts telling me that the bi guys he meets always tell him that sleeping with men is much better than women because men know what men like.
He then tells me that he is “amazing with his mouth” and jokingly asks if I want to try.
I say no but I play along with the joke and 5 minutes later he’s pulling me out of my pants and it was the best experience of my life. Like godly.
If there was a hall of fame he’d be in it. After I finished I panicked and left.
It would’ve been great but it’s incredibly complicated since I have a girlfriend who I’ve been with for 2 years.
I’ve considered myself straight for years and have never really fantasized about guys. I’ve at most been able to notice if a guy has a really nice behind but that’s it. I don’t like male genitals or the idea of touching one.
I’ve also never considered cheating in my girlfriend I love her so much. Idk what I’m going to tell her. I can’t tell her I cheated on her with a man, but I can’t keep this a secret.
I’m so lost and confused

At least your story has a happy ending
Little drunk means you still have control over your actions
Editor’s note: I guess you could say, he got a “bro” job.
A netizen shared how his father once told him that he would give up all of his money just to be able to see his late wife once again for a few minutes.
Here is the story:
My mother passed away when I was one year old and it hit my dad hard. I feel like he hasn’t been happy since my mom’s death.
He is a great father, we are extremely close, he never dated with anyone else and it breaks my heart when he gets drunk and cries looking at my mother’s photos.
My dad is a successful lawyer and I am aware that we are considered rich. However, when I look at my dad I see that money is not the solution to everything.
Once, when he was drunk, he told me that he would give all of his money just to see my mom for a couple of minutes.
Once I saw an old photo of my mom and dad holding me in bed, both looked so sleepless and tired but my dad never looked so peaceful.
Sometimes I feel like my life is a badly written teenage movie.
Netizens comments
I’ve nothing to say that will help but he seems like a lovely man, look after him.
He sounds like an honorable man and a loving person. I hope he finds peace someday.
Honestly I don’t think I would date again if my husband died. I totally get it. Take care of him.
I pray that i find a man who loves me half that much. How heartbreaking. I truly hope he finds some peace. PS. I hope you recognize how beautiful it is that you are the product of a love that strong.
