OFFICE LADY SWEATS A LOT AT HER ARMPIT & NEHNEHPOK, BF SAY “HOW CAN SO CHIO SWEAT SO MUCH”

0

Sweaty OL problems

Qn for the ladies.

I (27F) have been a sweaty girl since young. I only wear stripes/white/black clothing because if not there will be super, super obvious armpit and bewb sweat stains.

Even though I work in an air conditioned office I still manage to sweat through my clothes when I go out for lunch with my colleagues and it shows quite distinctly if I wear anything other than white or black.

My self esteem has been affected pretty badly due to this issue. My fiancé once commented “can’t believe someone so chio can sweat like a pig without doing anything”.

He didn’t dare to say it again after I cried about it lol. But I do get self conscious that other people will think the same way if they saw my sweat stains.

I envy the girls who can wear nice pastel colours to work without having to worry about problems like this. I have tried deodorants like super dri and while they stop the sweat production, it turns my underarms dark so I try to avoid it. Botox costs $1000 per underarm every 6 months so that is not a viable option.

Anyone managed to stop excessive sweating through other means? I have been underweight my whole life so probably weight isn’t a factor. I also don’t get acne/pimples so I guess hormones can be ruled out? I go for long jogs 2 times a week but still continue to sweat a lot on normal days. Just wishing I can lead a normal life and wear more colours

Netizens’ comments

  1. Visit the doctor, we cannot help you.
It may be something as simple as overactive sweat glands to a metabolism issue since you’ve mentioned you are underweight to something as serious as thyroid dysfunction or even anxiety issues.
Best course of action is to visit a trained medical practitioner to solve your problem.
  2. i rmb reading abt it somewhere, u can try sticking panty liners in ur sleeves to absorb the armpit sweat
  3. Hello fellow sweater 💦 my wardrobe is mostly black and/or super dark shades because of this, and post birth it’s even worse (thank you hormones).
I’m in sleeveless 90% of the time, I gotta make sure the arm holes in clothes are large so there’s space for pits to breathe. The weather here is wretchedly humid unfortunately. Material matters. Good perfume helps, and regular showers, also trips to the toilet to dab off sweat. The pastel life ain’t for me either. Or cute sleeves 🥲
Though I find your fiancé’s comment hella rude and completely uncalled for.

30 Y.O GUY THINKS EVERY STOMACH ACHE = CANCER, DIZZY = HEART ATK, HEADACHE = TUMOR

0

Irrational thoughts of death at 30. Do you guys experience the same?

Idk if it’s a culmination of stress or the exposure to media on how someone can randomly die on the street or healthy one day and cancer the next but these irrational fear of deaths have been recurring and it’s crippling my every day.

I now tend to notice every single discomfort in my body. And I’ll associate it to something more severe. A headache = tumour in my brain. A stomach ache = stomach cancer. Giddiness = a heart attack is impending. Once it starts, it’ll last throughout the day which fuels my stress and anxiety and my symptoms became more present than it actually is. Especially when I’m out the start of the “attack” will immediately cause my entire day to turn bad. Doesn’t help that I’ll google the symptoms and the results returned willl always be on the extreme end.

Yes I’ve been to the doctors and they say it’s stress induced but I can’t seem to get away from it. Or to reduce it. They say exercise is good as it releases happy hormones but when I ran I get out of breath and the whole “oh Shit I’ll die soon” will start kicking in all over.

And it’s crippling cause while I’m making plans with my fiancé and family / friends etc, instead of looking forward to a certain event, the first thing that comes to my mind is “Will I live long enough to see that day?” Which is strange and odd cause I’m only 30 and I can’t express my happiness well.

Anyone felt this way before and if so how did you break that feedback loop? 🙁

Netizens’ comments

  1. Sounds like an anxiety disorder tbh. Hypochondria. Health anxiety.
  2. Are you afraid of death? Or what happens to your family when you are gone?
If you are afraid for your family or dependents then ensure they have everything they need IF ever you were suddenly meet your end. So for me personally have my life insurances, hospital insurances etc. all in place.
If anything does happen, my family will be taken care of.
If you are afraid of death itself then you need to understand we all have an expiry. Once you learn to accept it then u can learn to live your life in the moment instead of worrying about the future etc.
We can never foresee our future so might as well stop with the ‘What Ifs?’
  3. Precisely this is the reason why you should live your life happier. You’ll never know when you’ll drop dead. Stop comparing lives, start to appreciate what you already have. Also, you may want to do annual check ups to just make sure nothing sinister is happening to your body. If found out earlier, earlier treatment or control is better too. Yes, have those insurance to back your loved ones up too.

BOSS REMOVES WFH & FORCES EVERYONE BACK TO OFFICE, TELLS THEM “VACATION IS OVER”

0

Boss is Removing WFH

My boss is forcing everyone back into the office full time and had the audacity to tell us the “vacation is over”. We work 40 hours a week and sometimes put in overtime.

Going into the office is gonna add 1.5 hours to my day and cost me about a thousand a year. Plus, it’s gonna ruin my mental health that’s been improving gradually the past several months since going WFH. :/

I can do everything from home, why don’t bosses just allow us to do our job and be happy at the same time?

Netizens’ comments

  1. When my company tried that last year most of the WFH employee teamed up and sent in emails saying they would quit before coming back. 75% sent these emails and it scared the higher ups so they backed off.
  2. Time for everyone’s production to drop drastically because “the vacation is over” for your boss and he doesn’t even know it.
  3. “I know you’ve never been more productive but my assistant needs to time your breaks, your coworkers can’t brown nose me over Zoom & we’re paying high rent for this space so I’m going to have to insist you return to the office even though it’s an hour commute each way.”
  4. I think there’s still the stigma out there that people aren’t as productive at home as they are in the office. Because people never goof off in the office.
  5. I don’t get this mindset. The company I work for sold the majority of office space or didn’t renew the lease. We now have no where to return to and I am thankful for this tiny ray of sunshine in the shit storm.
  6. Commuting is not just a time cost, but also a direct cost to employees. Seems obvious, but it should not be understated the cost impact.

LORRY DRIVER TRAPPED IN HORRIFIC CRASH WITH TRUCK @ SLE, RESCUED BY SCDF’S DART TEAM

0

A harrowing road traffic accident occurred on August 2, 2023, at approximately 3:20pm along the Seletar Expressway (SLE) towards Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE), before the Lentor Avenue exit. The incident involved a collision between a lorry and a truck, resulting in a driver being trapped within the mangled wreckage.

Upon receiving the distress call, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) swiftly responded to the scene. The front of the lorry had suffered significant damage, with its structure severely crushed inwards, pinning the driver’s lower limbs beneath the dashboard. The SCDF ambulance crew initiated medical procedures to stabilize the injured driver’s condition.

The complexity of the situation necessitated a meticulous rescue operation.Officers from the Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (DART), an elite unit within the SCDF, were deployed to execute the rescue mission and extricate the trapped man from the wreckage.

To facilitate the rescue, SCDF rescuers strategically employed two hydraulic extendable ramps. By exerting controlled force on the dashboard, they managed to create enough space to carefully extract the driver from the entrapment.

One of the most challenging aspects of the rescue involved freeing the man’s lower limbs that were trapped under the wreckage. SCDF rescuers employed specialized cutting equipment to remove the clutch pedal that had ensnared the driver’s left foot.

Following the successful extraction, the injured driver was swiftly transported to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital for further medical attention.

SCDF’s statement

[Road Traffic Accident along SLE]

On 2 August 2023 at about 3:20pm, SCDF was alerted to a road traffic accident involving a lorry and a truck along the SLE towards BKE, before the Lentor Avenue exit.

Upon SCDF’s arrival, a man was found trapped in the driver’s seat of the lorry. As the front of the lorry was severely crushed inwards, the man’s lower limbs were pinned under the dashboard.

An SCDF ambulance crew rendered medical aid to stabilise the man’s injuries while rescuers, including officers from the elite Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (DART), conducted the rescue operation.

To rescue the man, SCDF rescuers used two hydraulic extendable ramps to exert force on the dashboard, pushing it away from him and creating sufficient space to free his lower limbs. Cutting equipment was also used by rescuers to carefully remove the clutch pedal that had trapped the man’s left foot.

The man was rescued and conveyed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.

HDB RESIDENT HANGS THEIR UNDERWEAR OVER THE S’PORE FLAG, S’POREANS ANGRY

0

As National Day draws near, the vibrant red and white of Singapore’s flag emerges from storage, adorning the windows of HDB blocks and private homes across the nation. The display of our national flag is more than just a decorative gesture; it’s a symbol of unity, patriotism, and shared identity.

Facebook user Ms. Lee recently encountered a disheartening sight when she walked past an HDB block. Instead of a pristine flag swaying gently in the breeze, she was met with the incongruous image of underwear hung over our national symbol.

The shock and disappointment expressed by Ms. Lee and fellow Facebook users highlight the need for a collective understanding of flag etiquette.

The incident shared by Ms. Lee, while disappointing, ignited a discourse about the importance of respecting the national flag. Residents from all walks of life came forward to express their views on the matter.

Netizens’ comments

  1. The authority should penalise this household by ordering them to hang the underwear on their body and parade them to walk 1 round in the estate!
  2. This one will tio fine and charge in court
Don’t like political party or politicians doesn’t mean you don’t love this country.
Please leave if you really don’t love Singapore.
  3. Enjoying reading the comments here.. feeling patriotic with all the people who love Singapore:)

Understanding Flag Etiquette: Showing Respect for Singapore’s Flag

Flag etiquette isn’t merely a set of rules; it’s a reflection of our collective respect for the nation and its symbols. Proper flag display involves more than just hanging it; it’s about ensuring it remains visible and unobstructed. Placing any object, especially something as personal as underwear, over the flag not only diminishes its visibility but also raises questions about the intention behind such an act.

According to the National Symbols Act, persons who deliberately insult and disrespect the Singapore flag face a potential punishment of a fine of up to $30,000 and a jail term of up to 6 months.

To display the Singapore flag with the respect it deserves:

  1. Choose a Clear Space: When displaying the flag, make sure it has ample space and isn’t obstructed by any other objects.
  2. Avoid Obstructions: Nothing should be placed over the flag. It should be the primary and unobstructed focus.
  3. Correct Positioning: Hang the flag in a way that showcases the crescent and stars prominently.
  4. Proper Lighting: If displayed at night, ensure proper illumination to keep the flag visible and vibrant.

S’PORE LIVERPOOL FAN NOT HAPPY HIS TEAM LOST TO BAYERN, STARTS FIGHT INSIDE MRT

0

European football teams Liverpool and Bayern Munich played out an enthralling match at the Singapore National Stadium, with the Germans beating the english side 4-3 in a pulsating pre-season friendly match on our shores.

However, it seems one Liverpool fan in Singapore who attended the match, took the loss a little too hard and lost it, creating a ruckus and starting fights with both Liverpool and Bayern Munich fans at the Stadium MRT station and inside the MRT carriage.

Videos of the incident were shared on TikTok via user @sewyyyy41.

The Confrontation Begins

In the first video, the man (wearing a Liverpool jerey with Robertson’s name on the back) is seen aggressively approaching and shouting at a group of people at the MRT station. The reason behind this initial confrontation remains ambiguous, leaving spectators curious about the trigger.

The second video captures the man persistently shouting while on the MRT platform, just moments before boarding the train. His behavior drew the attention of other commuters, adding to the intensity of the situation.

In the third video, the man engages in a heated argument with a Bayern Munich fan inside the train. He brandishes a Borussia Dortmund jersey, a team known to be a fierce rival of Bayern in the Bundesliga. He forcefully directs the Bayern fan’s attention to the jersey, further escalating the tension as he told the Bayern fan:

“Thomas Tuchel can f- himself from Chelsea, can tell Sadio Mane to f- off to Saudi Arabia league”.

The Verbal Rant

The man’s rant is believed to have been triggered by Liverpool’s loss, and his anger intensified after an altercation with another Liverpool fan just before boarding the train. The build-up of emotions culminated in the subsequent confrontations.

Once aboard the train, the man continued his tirade for several stops, causing discomfort among other passengers who had to witness the tumultuous scene.

The confrontation eventually came to an end when the man alighted at Paya Lebar MRT Station. in public spaces.

Witnesses recounted that many passengers were hesitant to intervene or confront the man during his outburst. Instead, they either avoided eye contact or chose to remain silent.

The TikTok user who posted the videos also mentioned that the man was also insulting the MRT staff during the incident.

EX-SEC SCHOOL TEACHER SHARES THAT HE EARNED $5K/MTH, NETIZENS SAY TOO LOW

0

Being a teacher in Singapore is far from an easy job, and while many understand the challenges they face, not everyone is aware of the compensation they receive for their efforts.

A recent revelation by a former Ministry of Education (MOE) scholar has sparked discussions among netizens regarding the pay scale for teachers.

The disclosure came through TikTok, where content creator Mak shared his final salary as an MOE teacher. This revelation was in response to comments on a previous video that discussed the payment of MOE teachers.

Mak’s viral video in April showcased his impressive nine-property portfolio, achieved three years after leaving the teaching profession.

In Mak’s latest post, he disclosed that he was previously a MOE teaching scholar but decided to leave the industry in 2020.

To support his claim, he displayed a screenshot of his last-drawn payslip as a secondary school teacher. According to the payslip, Mak’s gross salary was S$5,133, before CPF deductions. After these deductions and other fund contributions, his take-home pay amounted to approximately S$4,093.

The revelation has ignited debates on social media platforms, with netizens expressing divergent opinions about whether the pay is commensurate with the responsibilities of teaching.

@g.y.mak Replying to @Laikuasimi Is MOE teacher salary that high that I can buy 9 properties? I used to be a teacher back in the days and many of you were wondering if the pay was high so here’s my answer 🆙 #propertyinvesting #fyp #moeteachers #propertyinvestment ♬ original sound – Mak

Netizens’ comments

  1. 5k is crazily low for the amount of work teachers do. Meanwhile some random tech person anyhow also 4-6k starting pay
  2. Teacher not easy. If you have kids you will know. 5k is too low for the long hours+cca+admin+ child care for students.
  3. 5k comparing to 1.8-2.3k preschl teachers ok la
  4. Wow thats good! Meanwhile, many early childhood teachers get paid 1/2 of that salary
  5. 5k as a new teacher la. Those in moe for about 5 years already 8-9k
  6. omg I can’t believe my friend still get the same basic as u did last time as a new hired lecturer… and she is a master graduate…

How is the Compensation Structured for MOE Teachers?

The compensation structure for MOE teachers is based on several factors, including qualifications, years of experience, and additional roles or responsibilities. Teachers who have specialized skills or serve in leadership positions may receive higher salaries.

Factors Influencing Teachers’ Salaries

  • Qualifications: Teachers with higher academic qualifications may be eligible for higher starting salaries.
  • Years of Experience: As teachers gain more experience, their salaries are likely to increase.
  • Subject Specialization: Certain subject areas may have higher demand, leading to additional compensation for teachers in those fields.
  • Leadership Roles: Teachers who take up administrative or leadership roles within the school may receive higher pay.

How do MOE Teacher Salaries Compare to Other Professions?

The salary scales of MOE teachers are generally competitive when compared to many other professions in Singapore. However, it is essential to consider factors like working hours, workload, and job satisfaction when evaluating the overall attractiveness of a teaching career.
