RACIST MAN WHO INSULTED & KICKED WOMAN FOR NOT WEARING MASK, CONVICTED

0

In May 2021, a disturbing incident took place in Choa Chu Kang that left the community shocked and concerned about racial harmony.

A man, Wong Xing Fong, racially insulted a stranger, Madam Hindocha Nita Vishnubhai, and even kicked her in the chest.

According to The Straits Times, the prosecution has presented its case in court, urging the district judge to hand down a sentence of six to nine months’ jail, emphasizing the seriousness of the offenses and the importance of strong deterrence to maintain community harmony.

On the other hand, Wong’s defense lawyer has pleaded for a lighter sentence, portraying Wong as a kind and caring individual who acted out of character.

He is set to be sentenced on 7 August.

The Incident and Trial

Wong Xing Fong, 32, attacked Madam Hindocha Nita Vishnubhai near Northvale condominium in Choa Chu Kang in May 2021. He is scheduled to be sentenced on July 31.

Madam Nita, 57, testified that she was briskly walking to Choa Chu Kang Stadium, where she worked at a fast-food restaurant, with her mask down when she heard someone shouting.

She turned and saw Wong and his fiancee, Ms Chua Yun Han, who were unfamiliar to her. They told her to “mask up.”

In response, Madam Nita explained that she was exercising and sweating, gesturing to illustrate her point. However, instead of de-escalating the situation, Wong verbally insulted her.

In an attempt to diffuse the tension, Madam Nita responded with “God bless you.” Despite this, Wong kicked her in the chest before jogging away with his fiancee.

An eyewitness, unrelated to either party, helped Madam Nita to her feet and provided first aid for a wound on her left forearm.

She reported the incident to the police later that evening. The prosecution presented the testimony of the eyewitness, who confirmed witnessing Wong kicking Madam Nita.

The prosecution regarded Madam Nita as a truthful witness and dismissed the notion that she framed Wong without any provocation.

During the trial, Wong, represented by lawyer Sim Bing Wen, claimed that Madam Nita was sarcastic, aggressive, and used vulgar language towards him.

He also alleged that she spat at him and his fiancee, prompting him to push her. Although Wong admitted to using vulgar language, he denied using any racial insults.

The prosecution rebutted Wong’s claims, stating that the allegation of Madam Nita spitting at him was contradicted by the behavior of Wong and his fiancee.

It was deemed peculiar that Wong remained in close contact with Chua after the alleged incident, considering his concern about spreading illnesses to her immunocompromised parent.

Wong and his fiancee testified that he went to a washroom at the nearby Lot One mall to clean up after the incident.

However, the prosecution presented closed-circuit television footage that showed them ordering food together, contradicting their claim.

BEAR STANDING ON HINDLEGS IN CHINA ZOO, VISITORS SUSPECT IT’S A MAN IN A BEAR COSTUME

A video of a black bear at Hangzhou Zoo in China has taken the internet by storm. The viral footage shows the bear standing on its two hind legs on the edge of a rock feature, engaging with fascinated tourists by playfully waving its paws.

While this spectacle has been a popular tourist attraction, an intriguing debate has arisen about the bear’s true identity. Some netizens argue that the “talented” bear is not a bear at all but a human in a cleverly crafted costume.

Unveiling the Controversy

The video posted by an observant netizen immediately sparked curiosity and raised questions about the authenticity of the bear’s identity.

Hangzhou Daily reported that the individual behind the video firmly believed that the bear was, in fact, a human dressed in a bear costume.

As this speculation gained traction, Hangzhou Zoo issued a denial, countering the claims by stating that the temperature on the day the video was recorded reached a scorching 40 degrees Celsius. They asserted that a person inside a costume would not have been able to withstand such heat.

Human-like Gestures and Skepticism

In the face of the zoo’s defense, some people remained unconvinced and continued to support the idea that the bear was, indeed, a human imitating a bear.

A separate Chinese news outlet, Jimu News, reported on this ongoing skepticism. Observers pointed to the bear’s remarkably human-like movements while standing and waving to visitors.

Additionally, they observed what appeared to be pants-like folds around the bear’s rear when it stood upright.

Commenters on the Jimu article voiced their doubts as well. One commenter noted that the bear’s posture seemed even more upright than that of humans, fueling further intrigue.

Another skeptic claimed that bears’ forelimbs cannot spread out to the sides as the bear in the video was seen doing, further bolstering the “human in a bear suit” theory.

The Unresolved Mystery

As the debate rages on, the mystery surrounding the Hangzhou Zoo bear remains unresolved. The video’s viral nature has undoubtedly added to its intrigue, prompting both skeptics and believers to analyze the footage with fervor.

Whether this enigmatic bear is indeed a human donning a clever disguise or simply an exceptionally talented black bear remains a topic of speculation that continues to captivate audiences worldwide.

TOURISTS WALKED FROM WOODLANDS TO MBS FOR 12 HRS TO EXPERIENCE MORE OF S’PORE

American travel YouTubers, Kara and Nate, visited Singapore and made the decision to trek from Woodlands all the way to Marina Bay Sands on foot, in order to experience more of our little country.

From Woodlands to Marina Bay Sands

Kara and Nate had always dreamt of exploring Singapore beyond the usual tourist hotspots of Orchard Road and Marina Bay Sands. This walk was their opportunity to delve deeper into the country they had grown fond of since their first visit back in 2016.

A Hiking Plan

Starting their journey at Woodlands Park, the couple had planned a route spanning approximately 29.3 kilometers, as per Google Maps. However, they expected the journey to take longer due to numerous planned stops to experience Singapore’s diverse culture and savor its delectable cuisine.

Battling the Elements

As they set off, the blazing Singaporean sun proved to be their first challenge. Sweating profusely, they sought respite from the heat by briefly stepping into an unnamed school for some much-needed air-conditioning. Despite the scorching weather, their enthusiasm remained unwavering. Along the way, Nate shared that he had sweat dripping into his eyes, as he lamented about the scorching heat.

From Jaywalking to Hot Springs

With the goal of reaching their destination on time, Kara and Nate decided to jaywalk at one point, risking a potential fine. Curiosity led them to google other unusual fines in Singapore, including walking around the house naked and feeding birds. However, these distractions didn’t deter them from their adventure.

At 4.72 miles, they reached Sembawang Hot Springs, where they took a break and dipped their aching feet in the spring water. Though they intended to cook eggs in the hot spring, their culinary experiment didn’t go as planned. Nevertheless, the experience was an adventure in itself.

Rest Stops

With each mile covered, the couple’s hunger grew, and they eagerly indulged in local delicacies along the way. At Chong Pang City, they finally got to feast on traditional Singaporean dishes at a coffee shop.

The Missed Sunset

As their journey continued, they had to recalibrate their plans to catch the sunset at Marina Bay Sands’ infinity pool. Due to the distance covered and the multitude of experiences along the way, they realized they wouldn’t make it on time. However, they couldn’t resist stopping for some garlic naan, fondly recalling their first taste of Indian food in Singapore.

Diversity

Throughout their walk, Kara and Nate marveled at Singapore’s cultural diversity. From Hindu temples to beautiful mosques, the city presented a blend of different worlds in every corner.

Finish Line

Despite unexpected challenges and deviations from their initial plan, the couple’s spirits remained high. They pushed forward and celebrated the moment they set eyes on Marina Bay Sands’ iconic boat-shaped structure. The final mile was a joyful one, and their determination had brought them to their destination.

LANDLORD AND TENANT FIGHTING OVER 6 MONTHS OF UNPAID RENT, POLICE CALLED IN

0

The clash between a restaurant owner and her landlord has garnered attention due to allegations of unpaid rent and an altercation that occurred on the premises. The incident took place at a popular grilled fish restaurant located on Geylang Road, according to Shin Min Daily News.

Background of the Incident

The restaurant’s owner, Ms. Zhang, took over the establishment in September of the previous year and began operating the grilled fish business.

However, in April of the current year, she faced some financial difficulties that resulted in delayed rent payments.

She approached the landlord, seeking understanding and a temporary arrangement, with the intention of eventually catching up on the dues. Unfortunately, this led to an ongoing conflict with the landlord.

Financial Trouble and Delayed Rent Payment

Ms. Zhang’s restaurant encountered some financial setbacks in April, prompting her to request an extension for rent payment. She assured the landlord that she would eventually pay the overdue amount.

However, despite her efforts to communicate and make partial payments, the landlord continued to escalate the situation.

Landlord’s Reaction and Lock Changes

In May, the landlord decided to change the locks on the restaurant, leaving a notice stating that the establishment was closed due to delayed rent payments.

This action affected the restaurant’s operations and reputation. Ms. Zhang, alarmed by this move, immediately contacted the landlord and paid a fee to regain access to her restaurant.

The Altercation: Accusations and Confrontation

In July, the situation worsened when the landlord changed the locks again, preventing Ms. Zhang from entering her own business.

When she attempted to open the restaurant, the landlord’s wife physically restrained her and, according to Ms. Zhang, the landlord even brandished a stick, holding it against her neck to prevent her from entering.

Witnessing the altercation, nearby shop owners intervened and some even called the police. The presence of the authorities did not deter Ms. Zhang, and she continued to act defiantly. Eventually, the police had no choice but to arrest her for public disturbance.

Landlord’s Perspective on the Situation

Mdm Mary, the landlord’s wife, offered an explanation for their actions. According to her, Ms. Zhang had accumulated six months of unpaid rent, leaving them with no other option but to lock the premises.

Mdm. Mary emphasized that their intention was not to harass or inconvenience Ms. Zhang but to collect the overdue rent.

DRUNK DRIVER ABANDONED CAR & FLED TO EVADE POLICE, CAUGHT & JAILED 3 WEEKS

0

Manikam Varatharaj, a 45-year-old Singaporean, found himself entangled in legal trouble after trying to avoid a police roadblock while under the influence.

He was sentenced to 3 weeks imprisonment on 28 July and fined $6,800, as well as being banned from driving for 42 months.

What happened

On a September night in 2019, at approximately 2:30 AM, Manikam Varatharaj was driving through Woodlands when he noticed a police roadblock up ahead. Fearful of being caught for drink driving, he decided to take an evasive course of action.

In a desperate attempt to elude the police, Varatharaj turned into a small road leading to the Seagate and 3M Singapore buildings, before he made a u-turn at the end of the road and parked his car at the exit of the Seagate building.

At this point, Varatharaj’s intentions became apparent to a vigilant security guard stationed at the 3M Singapore guardhouse. Curious about his actions, the guard approached Varatharaj, who seemed nervous and smelled of alcohol.

Varatharaj explained that he needed to urgently attend to something and requested the guard to watch over his car.

Despite the guard’s warning that he would inform the police if the car wasn’t moved, Varatharaj decided to abandon his vehicle and flee on foot. This left the security guard baffled and the exit lane obstructed, causing inconvenience to other road users.

Realizing the urgency of the situation, the guard immediately reported the incident to the police roadblock nearby. Upon receiving the information, the police promptly dispatched officers to the scene to investigate.

As events unfolded, two foreign workers who happened to arrive in a van were found to be associated with Varatharaj. They revealed that he had instructed them to be there at that specific time. The police took over a call from Varatharaj when he contacted one of the workers, further solidifying the case against him.

Upon apprehending Varatharaj, the police charged him with drink driving and leaving his car in a manner that inconvenienced other road users. Subsequently, he was put on trial to answer for his actions.

The Trial and its Outcome

At trial, Varatharaj attempted to defend himself by claiming that he had not seen the police roadblock. He further asserted that his hands and legs had been trembling, leading him to stop the car and leave it behind. However, the prosecution presented evidence to counter his claims.

Despite Varatharaj’s defense, the court found him guilty of both charges. Given his previous drink driving conviction and previous fines for other traffic offenses, the court handed down a sentence that included a three-week jail term, a fine of S$6,800, and a driving ban of 42 months.

COUPLE DISTURBS LION DANCE COMPETITION BY KICKING LION’S HEAD & SHOUTING @ WEST COAST CC

0

An incident at the West Coast Community Centre has stirred up controversy and worry as a man and a woman disrupted a lion dance performance through their disruptive actions, according to The Straits Times.

This disruption occurred during the Ngee Ann City National Lion Dance Championship, which was organized by the Singapore Wushu Dragon and Lion Dance Federation (SWDLDF), where their son was participating as a performer with the Times Cultural Arts, according to Shin MIn Daily News.

During the performance, as the lion dance team was setting up their props, the couple abruptly rushed in, causing a scene that disrupted the entire performance.

Videos captured the couple shouting the Mandarin phrase “mei da mei xiao,” which translates to “showing no respect,” and allegedly kicking one of the lion’s heads placed on the ground.

Despite attempts from judges and fellow performers to intervene, the couple persisted in their disruptive behavior.

As a result of the incident, the authorities were alerted, leading to the arrest of the 58-year-old man and 51-year-old woman on charges of causing public nuisance.

Authorities take such actions seriously as they disrupt public order and jeopardize the safety of others. Police investigations into the incident are also underway.

In the aftermath of the disruption, Mr. Joseph Low, the secretary-general of SWDLDF, highlighted a miscommunication between the parents and their 25-year-old son, who was part of the lion dance competition.

The parents had attempted to prevent their son from participating due to misunderstandings.

Despite the disturbance, the son’s lion dance team demonstrated resilience and determination. While initially contemplating withdrawal from the competition, the organizers extended the opportunity for them to compete at a later time.

The team’s perseverance paid off as they secured a Gold in the competition, advancing to the semi-finals scheduled at Ngee Ann City from Sept 4 to 9.

Mr. Joseph Low emphasized the vital role of lion dance, like any sport, in building character. It fosters values such as discipline, perseverance, teamwork, and tenacity.

As a community, it is essential to support and encourage young performers in their pursuit of traditional arts and cultural practices, preserving our heritage while shaping the character of future generations.

ELDERLY WOMAN FOUND DEAD @ HENDERSON RD HDB, FLAT COVERED IN MAGGOTS

0

In a quiet corner of Singapore, at Block 93 Henderson Road, a tragic incident has caught the attention of authorities and neighbors alike.

The police are currently conducting an investigation into an unnatural death that occurred in the ninth-floor unit of the block. The lifeless body of a 67-year-old woman was discovered, and her husband, aged 70, was found unconscious in the same flat, according to The Straits Times.

On Saturday morning, a neighbor, known as Mr. Xu, made a shocking discovery. He had been noticing an unusual and unpleasant smell emanating from the couple’s flat for at least a week before the incident.

Unable to ignore the overpowering odor any longer, Mr. Xu, who lives in the opposite unit, decided to take action. He immediately called the police to report the situation.

Concerned about the wellbeing of his neighbors, Mr. Xu went the extra mile and knocked on the woman’s door. To his horror, the door opened with a gentle push, and he was confronted with an alarming sight. The floor of the flat was covered with maggots, indicating a situation of severe neglect and decay.

The deceased woman, 67 years old, was found lying motionless in the ninth-floor unit. Tragically, she was pronounced dead at the scene by a Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) paramedic.

Her husband, aged 70, was discovered unconscious and immediately taken to Singapore General Hospital for urgent medical attention. The community is anxiously awaiting updates on his condition.

In an interview with Shin Min Daily News, Mr. Xu shared his observations and interactions with the elderly couple. He mentioned that the couple usually kept their front door open, fostering a friendly and approachable atmosphere.

However, in the last few days leading up to the incident, the door had been tightly shut, raising concerns among the neighbors.

Other neighbors, speaking to Shin Min, revealed that the couple relied on wheelchairs to get around. It was customary for them to leave their flat every morning to have their meals.

However, in the days before the incident, the neighbors had not seen the couple outside, further heightening the sense of worry in the community.

The police were alerted to the incident at approximately 10:17 am on that fateful Saturday. Shortly after, SCDF received a call for assistance, arriving on the scene about 20 minutes later.

The police are currently carrying out a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death and her husband’s unconscious state.

BANGLADESHI WORKER PAYS MIDDLE MAN S$8,000 TO GET A JOB IN SG, DAILY SALARY $18

0

Before coming to Singapore, Sharif was the owner of a bookstore and managed several employees. However, the bookstore suddenly closed down, and he was desperate and came to Singapore alone to find another way to make a living.

After paying an agency fee of S$8,000, Sharif was introduced to work on a construction site , and had a wife in Bangladesh who was three months pregnant at the time.

This looks like a difficult road from which there is no turning back.

After coming to Singapore, Sharif found it difficult for him to adapt to life in Singapore. Not only do I have to squeeze into a dormitory with more than 20 construction workers, but I also have to work 28 days a month, 12 hours a day, from 7 am to 7 pm. Sometimes rushing to a project, there will be no day off for several months.

However, for such a heavy work, the daily salary is only 18 Singapore dollars, and most of the money has to be remitted back to Bangladesh for his wife and son…

While he was working hard day and night, people in his hometown had a deep misunderstanding of him. They thought that Sharif could make a lot of money in Singapore and live a luxurious life.

Sharif said aggrievedly: Even after spending 11 years here, I never enjoyed life, I was always struggling.

TRANSCAB DRIVER ALLEGEDLY NEVER FOLLOWS METER AND CHARGE EXTRA

Hi i want to warn everyone about this transcab driver.

Transcab renault latitude

SHD257K

I ordered a gotaxi last night and app shows fare to be between $11.60 to $18.80, but halfway through the journey driver suddenly tell me i need to pay him $18.80 and say its shown on app. His meter was on and i questioned him about it. He then went on to act blur and keep insisting its $18.80 so i told him ok ill pay that amount but ill need a receipt from him to lodge a feedback with gojek.

He then changed his words and told me theres a $1.40 additional “fee” if he goes by the meter which i dont know what hes talking about.

Before i drop off he suddenly said he will charge according to meter cause i cant just say ill go complain him. But if hes not up to something gojek or transcab would just tell me in the face isnt it? Den he said its better he do me wrong than i do him wrong. Like what wrong am i doing him?

Furthermore he was driving recklessly the whole trip and sudden brake like every minute. I wasnt even making noise about that.

Video shows how bumpy the ride was and the moment he told me fare was $18.80.

Here are what netizens think:

  • Well gojek can check from where he pick you up and where he drop you so the distance will say it all with the time and date. So you should just file a complaint to gojek and say the driver in the middle of the trip say the charges is $18.80 and seem to ask for my consent which you say why does he need to do this? the driver further say if follow meter has an additional $1.40. So ask gojek to clarify why the driver say all these and ask gojek to confirm what is the actual fee for this ride? Just tell him you don’t understand and tell him also his replies will be on social media and we will know who is right and who is wrong.
  • GrabTaxi also same. They will just charge you the highest Amt in the range even when meter says otherwise. Too tired to even bother to lodge as both times it happened was late night.
  • He was trying to cheat your money.

WOMAN HAS AFFAIR WITH PERSONAL TRAINER FRIEND OF HUSBAND DURING THEIR SESSIONS

0

A story of an affair committed by a married woman with her personal trainer in her gym was shared online.

The lady had wanted to lose some weight after giving birth to her third child and her husband recommended a personal trainer friend of his to help her attain her goal of losing weight.

After a few sessions, the lady and her personal trainer got into an affair.

Here is the story

“So I started going to the gym since last May, to lose some extra weight that I had gained after having my third child. My husband, who goes to this same gym once in a while when he is home, recommended his personal trainer friend to me.

I started to train under him. He used to join me for a walk in the morning and helped me with weight training in the evening at the gym. During the process we got closer and started to spend more time with each other, after morning walks and after gym, usually at my place. He complimented me often for my efforts and my looks and was very positive with me from day one. So basically he was into me (which he told me later on) and I was enjoying his company as my husband travels a lot for his work.

When we were at home, he took the full advantage of privacy and touched my body parts to make me understand things. Like touching my chest to tell my how the width of my grip would affect different sides or touching my backside, hamstrings and thighs to tell me which exercise would target which part and such and he would have me touch his body so that I could “understand” better. At first it was educational then it was straight on flirting and I was more that receptive by now. I really was fond of this guy.

And during one such session I decided to take care of his ‘brother’ at attention. I don’t know why. I just felt so and got down on my knees. He left that day after filling up my mouth. The next morning, we skipped walking and had ‘exercise’ in bed instead. It was the beginning of us skipping one cardio for doing another. Or we had ‘exercise’ post gym or sometimes during other time of the day. I was improving my physique and so was my relationship with my trainer.

Although I have reached where I wanted to by October itself I am still working out with him and physically active with him. And before you all may ask me, yes, I paid him for his services. Not for the physical services, but purely for the effort that he put in for me (no pun intended).”
