A 62-year-old German businessman and real estate tycoon, Hans-Peter Mack, who went missing on July 4th, has been discovered dismembered inside a freezer in a rental home in Thailand, according to reports by the Associated Press and The Bangkok Post.

He failed to return home from a business trip and was reported missing, with a reward of 3 million baht (SGD$116,000) for information on his whereabouts.

His dismembered body was subsequently discovered by the police on 10th July.

Investigations are currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding his disappearance and murder.

Dead body found

Hans-Peter Mack was last seen driving his Mercedes sedan in Pattaya, a popular city in southern Thailand, a week prior to the discovery of his body.

His concerned family quickly put up a missing person notice, offering a substantial reward of 3 million baht (S$116,000) for any information regarding his whereabouts. Unfortunately, there were no leads in the initial days of the investigation.

After a week of intense searching, the police managed to locate Mack by analyzing CCTV footage from the area. On July 10th, they made a horrifying discovery inside a rental home in Chon Buri.

The investigation into Hans-Peter Mack’s murder is ongoing, with authorities focusing on both German and Thai nationals as potential suspects.

Details regarding the case have been limited, but witnesses reported seeing two women exiting Mack’s vehicle when it was parked in the condominium parking lot.

Another German woman, who works as a property broker, revealed that she had a meeting with Mack on July 4th to discuss lucrative business opportunities.

However, their paths diverged after the meeting. Police have also uncovered that a significant amount of money went missing from Mack’s bank account, leading them to believe that it could be connected to the murder.

TOURIST KILLED IN GEYLANG ACCIDENT ON 1ST DAY OF HOLIDAY IN S’PORE, DRIVER ARRESTED

Tragedy struck on the first day of a tourist’s vacation in Geylang, Singapore, when a car collided with him while he was crossing the street, according to Shin Min Daily News.

Despite efforts to save him, the tourist, identified as Liang Guishou, succumbed to his injuries and passed away at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. The incident has led to the arrest of a 54-year-old male driver, and investigations are currently ongoing.

1st day of holiday

On June 29th, Liang Guishou, a 46-year-old tourist from China, was crossing Geylang Road near Lorong 13 towards Kallang Road when he was struck by a car at approximately 11:55 PM.

A distressing nine-second video circulating on social media captured the aftermath, showing Mr. Liang lying unresponsive on the ground while a passer-by attempted to wake him up.

The video also revealed a parked black car with a shattered windscreen and a dented bonnet, evidence of the collision.

Upon receiving reports of the incident, the Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF) transported Mr. Liang, who was unconscious, to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

Despite medical efforts, he tragically succumbed to his injuries.

The police have arrested a 54-year-old male driver in connection with the incident, who is currently being investigated for causing death due to careless driving.

Family devastated

The news of Mr. Liang’s passing left his family and friends devastated. The tour group’s guide, Mo Xiaofang, shared that it was their first day in Singapore when the tragedy occurred.

Mr. Liang may have gone out for supper, resulting in the accident. Upon realizing Mr. Liang was missing, Mr. Mo contacted the hospital, only to receive the heartbreaking news of his demise.

The grieving family has received support from friends, with 11 of Mr. Liang’s friends visiting Mrs. Huang’s house to console their son. They have also pooled together funds to assist with the repatriation of Mr. Liang’s ashes, covering funeral expenses and transportation costs.

S’PORE FAMILY GOT ROBBED IN JB, ROBBERS SMASHED THEIR CAR & STOLE VALUABLES

0

It was supposed to be a memorable family holiday, but for a Singaporean family visiting Johor Bahru (JB), their trip turned into a nightmare when they fell victim to a robbery, according to a report by Shin Min Daily News.

In a shocking incident, the thieves targeted their vehicle, smashing the windscreen and making away with valuable possessions, including cash and bags.

Went to JB for dinner

The unfortunate incident took place at approximately 6 pm on July 8th, near Taman Perling, JB.

The Singaporean family, consisting of seven members, including Ms. Guo, her husband, daughter, 77-year-old mother, two younger sisters, and brother-in-law, had arrived in JB in a minivan and stopped at a restaurant for dinner.

While they were enjoying their meal, their vehicle was targeted by thieves.

Upon returning to their vehicle, the family discovered the horrifying scene. The back seat was scattered with debris from the shattered window, and they noticed a mysterious dark blue dress, unfamiliar to all of them. It became apparent that they had fallen victim to a robbery.

The family quickly realized that their valuables were missing, including RM570 (S$164.49) in cash, bags belonging to Ms. Guo’s 15-year-old daughter and her sister’s mobile phone.

Understandably shaken by the incident, they promptly reported the robbery to the local police station in JB.

Ms. Guo expressed her relief that their vehicle was not stolen but emphasized the importance of the incident serving as a cautionary tale for others.

She hopes that this unfortunate experience will remind the public to be cautious and refrain from leaving valuables unattended in their vehicles.

Traveling to neighboring countries is a common practice for Singaporeans seeking a short getaway. Johor Bahru, with its proximity to Singapore, has always been a popular destination.

However, no one expects to become a victim of a crime while on vacation. This incident serves as a reminder that safety should always be a top priority, even in familiar surroundings.

COUPLE DIVORCED, SON CHOSE TO LIVE WITH FATHER BECAUSE HE GOT A BIGGER HOUSE

0

I (37f) share a son “Tommy” (13m) with my ex “John” (37m). We split up when Tommy was a toddler so he lived full-time with me and then it was 50/50 when he was around 8.

During my first year of marriage, John received a job offer overseas and I initially didn’t want to go with him but John eventually convince me.

I never really liked where we lived and would often talk to John about possibly moving back to Singapore, but John never wanted to discuss it.

When we were in the middle of a divorce the idea of me and Tommy moving away was brought up and John freaked out, saying that I had no right to take away his son and I was hounded by his side of the family.

Tommy is literally the only reason why I still lived where I did and I have always hated the weather and missed my friends.

Before the pandemic, Tommy approached me about living with his dad full-time, and when I asked him why and he assured me that it wasn’t anything about me or where we were living just that at his dad’s place he had more room.

John made more money than me and lived in a four-bedroom house while I had a two-bedroom. I won’t lie and say that I was a little sad at the idea of seeing my son less but I wasn’t going to stop him if he wanted to go.

It was agreed that Tommy would spend a weekend a month and school holidays with me while John and I alternated Holidays.

A while back an old friend reached out and it was great reconnecting. It wasn’t long until we found out that we worked for the same company (it’s a nationwide firm that has multiple offices across the world), and my friend offered to give me a recommendation for a new position that I was trying to apply for.

I was grateful and sad that I didn’t get the job but a week later I was surprised when the firm offered me another position that paid more money and offered more benefits.

It was also back in Singapore so I would get to be near my family again. I immediately said “Yes” and when Tommy came to visit me I told him about the job and asked him if there was anything he wanted to keep while the rest of his stuff would just come with me.

Tommy asked why I would want to move and aside from the money, I told him that I never really liked living here and was always planning on leaving once he turned 18.

Tommy seemed to take the news well but his dad called me furious and said I was manipulative because our son now thinks that I’m “punishing” him for wanting to live with his father full-time.

So am I wrong?

TAN CHUAN JIN CAUGHT MUTTERING F-WORD AFTER JAMUS LIM SPEECH, APOLOGISES FOR BEHAVIOUR

0

Speaker of Parliament Tan Chuan-Jin found himself at the center of controversy after using “unparliamentary language” during a parliamentary session that was live-streamed by the Ministry of Communications and Informaiton (MCI) in April this year.

During a parliamentary sitting in April, Speaker of Parliament Tan Chuan-Jin uttered a profanity under his breath, which was overheard on the microphone that was still on at the time, and subsequently circulated online, as reported by The Straits Times and Channel NewsAsia.

Tan was heard muttering the phrase “f-g populist” at the 1:25:28 minute mark of MCI’s livestream after calling for MP Vikram Nair (PAP-Sembawang) to speak following a speech by Workers’ Party MP Jamus Lim.

The incident occurred after Jamus Lim, an Associate Professor and Workers’ Party MP, addressed the parliament during a debate on the president’s address.

In his speech, Prof. Lim expressed support for President Halimah Yacob’s call to enhance Singapore’s social compact. He also highlighted the absence of an “official poverty line” in the country, which he found puzzling and exasperating.

Recognizing the gravity of his actions, Speaker Tan Chuan-Jin promptly issued an apology for his use of what he described as unparliamentary language.

He acknowledged the inappropriateness of his choice of words and expressed regret for his behavior during the parliamentary session.

Tan Chuan Jin’s apology on Facebook

There is a recording of a Parliament sitting in April this year that has been circulating. I had to listen to the recording as I did not recall the occasion.

Based on the clip it appears that I had a reaction to a speech made in the chamber.

When I listen to speeches made, like everyone, I do form views on them. What was said were my private thoughts which I had muttered to myself and not to anyone.

However I should not have expressed them aloud or in unparliamentary language, and I apologise for that.

I have also spoken to the Member, A/P Jamus Lim, to make that apology as well; which he has kindly accepted.

Jamus Lim’s response

Commenting on Tan’s Facebook post, Lim confirmed that Tan did indeed call him and apologise for his behaviour, which Lim has accepted.

He said: “Speaker did indeed call, and I have accepted his apology.”

GIRL ON WHEELCHAIR REMOVED AS BRIDESMAID, TOLD SHE WILL “RUIN” WEDDING PHOTO

0

An injured girl on a wheelchair shared how she was removed as the bridesmaid because the bride’s mother didn’t want her to “ruin” the wedding photos.

Here is the story:

“My best friend unasked me to be her chief bridesmaid because I ended up in a wheelchair after an accident.

Her mum didn’t want an overweight cripple to ruin her photographs (I wish I didn’t know that she said that, I was only a size 14 and it really affected my body image)

At first, I was in shock. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I had spent so much time and energy preparing for the wedding, and now I was being told that I couldn’t be a part of it.

I tried to reason with the coordinator, but she wouldn’t budge. She said that the wedding photos were too important, and that I would “distract” from them.

I felt so embarrassed and hurt. I had never felt so excluded in my life. I wanted to cry, but I held back the tears. I knew that if I cried, it would only make things worse.

I decided not to attend as a guest on the day despite being asked to come because I was heartbroken.

I found out on the day her hair and makeup were ruined because she insisted on going to gym before she got married and the makeup melted and the hair wilted.

Long story short I learned to walk again, got out of the wheelchair and I’m happy now.

We are sadly no longer friends.”

The experience was painful, but it made me realize how important it is to stand up for yourself and speak out against injustice. It reminded me of the importance of standing up for what is right, even when it feels like you are alone.

Editor’s note: You go girl! You don’t need that negativity in your life.

WOMAN EXPECTS MEN TO DROP EVERYTHING THEY’RE DOING WHEN SHE TEXTS, REPLY INSTANTLY

0

Help! In need of some advice from the guys.

I am a 28F and have matched with several guys on CMB which are 8-10 older than me. There is a trend I find in them, the frequency of them texting me/starting a convo/replying my text is really really slow. They can reply my text once/twice a day and sometimes just disappear for days and suddenly text me to ask me how I am doing and would like to meet up… Like what?!? I don’t understand…?!?

To all the guys, can you explain if this is normal? Like are they still interested or are they really so busy given that they are older and have more work priorities that they can’t even find a time to check their phone for a few seconds to reply or are they just trying to find someone to talk to when they are bored?

To me, as a female, I find that these convos start to get boring fast and they definitely have lost interest and I will start to lose interest fast too.

If that’s the case, why are they even on the app if they have other priorities that matters more… Really don’t understand how guys think…

Or… I just have bad judgement to match with these guys. Sigh!

Here are what netizen thinks:

  • Tbh, I have met ladies (who were of similar age as you) who also text back once/twice a day and sometimes do not text back for days. It can be painful to realise that you are just one match among their many matches they might have. They could have other priorities like work and family matters to attend to. They can’t pause all around them and just focus on getting to know you. That is the sad reality. If you would like to find a partner and settle down within the next 1-3 years, you might want to sign up a package with Lunch Actually. I think do date coaching as well and can help you to find the right one. All the best!
  • Everyone on the app is talking to a lot of different ppl .. so after a while all conversations are sorta patronising and mundane.. hardly anyone leaves a special impression anymore. And meetup is just cut to the chase to see if there’s any physical chemistry. It’s very normal these days, and all these older guy’s priority are not relationship at times. So just don’t take yourself so seriously too. Go out and meet ppl and have fun

GF REFUSE TO ADMIT TO ANY WRONGDOING, SHORTENING LIFE OF RELATIONSHIPS

0

My girlfriend’s inability to accept wrongdoing is making me lose feelings

My girlfriend [26] and I [27] have been together for almost a year. She’s a great girl – smart, good sense of humour and good looking. Everything was great in the beginning of the relationship until we started to have disagreements. I have a huge issue with the fact that, even when clearly she’s wrong or at fault, she never admits it. She always tries to defend herself with some excuse and sometimes shifts the blame to me somehow.

Whenever I pointed it out in the past, she always used to say “you always say that, it makes no sense! Why would i do that?” But a few weeks ago, I told her that we need to reevaluate our relationship because we are having more disagreements than normal conversations. At this point, she basically admitted that she likes to defend herself and she’ll do her best to listen to me more and try and be less defensive. A few days later, we have an argument where she is clearly, 100% wrong and won’t admit it. It was so disillusioning to see that nothing has changed despite me telling her what’s bothering me. It feels like I’m not heard in the discussion, all she’s trying to do is absolve her from any wrongdoing by giving the most preposterous reasons for her words/actions.

This is highly frustrating and I’m finding myself more annoyed and not wanting to see her because of this. It has come to a point where her quirks, which i used to find cute, are now an annoyance and cringey at times.

Am I exaggerating or should I end the relationship due to me feeling like there’s no spark anymore?

TL;DR: My girlfriend’s unwillingness to accept any blame for her actions is making me lose feelings for her

EDIT: When i say blame, i mean accountability. It was a poor choice of word on my par
