30 Y.O MAN WANTS TO “UP” 18 Y.O XMM AT HIS WORKPLACE, AFRAID PEOPLE WILL JUDGE HIM

0

I met her at my work as she was a new employee so I chatted with her and got to know her. From the beginning, I’ve liked her and I always tried to chat her up and spend more time with her at work.

I obviously respected boundaries and only did it in a friendly way, but I don’t know how it happened but she started to ask me to come to chat with her more and spend more time with her.

While nothing too serious has happened while we’ve been hanging out and chatting for the past few months, she has dropped quite a few hints for me.

It’s like every time she sees me she blushes, she makes little comments about my appearance and my personality, just a bunch of stuff that seems to make her feelings quite obvious.

I’ve been doing the same back when I feel it’s appropriate to let her know how I see her as well and I pay attention to her responses to make sure I’m not overstepping and boundaries.

To me, it just seems like a massive green light to try and establish something before she starts to think that I’m a lost cause that won’t make a move.

For example, she recently asked me if I liked another girl I was chatting with. It seems like if I don’t make my feelings clear, she will start to think that I like someone else or just don’t like her.

However, her life just isn’t very relationship friendly. We chat a lot at work, but her parents are extremely controlling and don’t allow her to spend time with her school friends, so I seriously doubt they’d allow for an older guy to take her to the movies or something.

I don’t know how I should move forward with this relationship as it seems the only time we can see each other is when we’re working.

We’ve been texting lately but I was never a fan of that kind of stuff and I just can’t keep a conversation with her that way.

I think I know the answer, that I need to decide to give up on her or decide to wait, but I just don’t want to close myself off to her and make the decision.

Also for what I feel is the elephant in the room, the age difference of 12 years. Personally, I feel like an insecure guy… there’s no special thing that separates me from her.

That being said it’s still something that concerns me and makes me feel guilty because I’ve always looked down upon age gaps till I had feelings for her, I’ll let others decide what to think and I’ll accept it.

People will judge me, she is 18 I’m 30…

WOMAN REFUSES TO RETURN EX-BF’S THINGS, HOLDS THEM HOSTAGE & DEMANDS BF TAKE HER BACK

My 20-year-old daughter has a troubled relationship with her boyfriend who is one year older.

They’ve been dating since the age of 16 and break up constantly. She is moody and proud, always picks fights over small things and has a hard time apologizing.

I was widowed last year and she has been living with me ever since. She’s not a good girlfriend, but she’s a great daughter.

Last year I noticed that she uses a really stupid tactic to attract him. She keeps some important things from him and when she wants to get back together, she tells him to get them.

They talk, go to the bedroom and are together again. The funniest thing is that she always keeps important things hostage: school books, documents, work materials… This time it was a PlayStation 5.

I just don’t understand all this drama. They have broke up once more and I saw his console in a box. She wasn’t home, so I decided to send the box through a delivery app and text him to let him know.

He thanked me a lot. When she arrived, she noticed that the box was no longer at our house. I said what I had done and now she is mad at me.

She says I’m being an “extra” for having delivered an object that wasn’t mine. In my defence, I said the console wasn’t hers either.

She calls me a busybody and I’m feeling guilty, but I believe she needs to stop acting so immature.

Did I do wrong?

Netizens’ comments

Get your daughter some help and tell her you won’t tolerate this kind of behaviour in your house.

If she’s been doing this for years then the boyfriend is probably used to it, yet strangely doesn’t pack all his stuff up when he leaves.

This is a typical Stockholm syndrome, ur daughter might be a psychopath.

MAN STILL RESENTS EX-WIFE, FEELS JEALOUS THAT SHE IS DOING BETTER THAN HIM AFTER DIVORCE

0

I’m day drinking and upset.

I guess I’m just feeling bitter, and I try my best to not be, but I can’t help it right now because she’s got another achievement under her belt while I’m left here in the dust, just watching from the sidelines, and I’m so full of resentment.

I posted about her right before my life imploded. We had a pretty great life together. Two great kids who got along. A nice place. It was nice.

But I wasn’t ‘fulfilling her needs’, but she never properly communicated them to me. I never knew she was reaching the end of her rope with the relationship.

The worst part is, I still have to see her. I can’t avoid it because my kid loves her, and I’m the only father the youngest has ever known. She lets me take my little girl on the weekends, even though she doesn’t have to, which is great, really. I do appreciate it.

But every time I hear about how great she’s doing or how much she’s changed, I want to rip out my hair and scream. It’s like she’s someone completely different.

Her health is improving, which is fantastic, and she can work more than she used to, which is also fantastic.

But she went and got a job in corporate, even though she’s not like that. She gets paid way more than me, and flaunts it by telling me about how she’s meeting with lawyers to set up accounts for the girls, or how she has a huge fund going for my daughter because she’s going to university in two years, or how she’s going to finance a car, or save up for a house.

She has a ton of money in a life insurance account and made sure to tell me how much was in it under the guise of telling me how the kids would be taken care of if she dies.

She never cared about money, but now she’s all about it. We’re not a trust fund family and never will be, no matter how hard she tries to pretend.

Now, recently, she’s stopped coming by to cook for me and the kids. She’s obsessed with studying for an exam to become some stock broker because she thinks she can do stocks after making some money off of the market last year. She convinced a company to hire her, even though she has no experience with stuff like that.

Jesus Christ, she was a stay at home mom for years, and she thinks she’s going to become some Wolf of Wall Street character?

She used to come over once a week to meal prep, but she’s taking that away from me, too. She says she’s studying for her field’s equivalent to the bar exam, which is crazy. She’s never even been to school for this.

And she acts like she’s such a hotshot. She wouldn’t give me her manager’s contact information because of “security reasons” and she says that she has to follow certain rules these days because of her job, which is BS.

I’m just so angry about everything she’s done in the last few years. She’s left me behind and I hate it.

I have to see her every weekend when she comes over to make food for the kids, which she just wraps up and throws into the freezer, by the way, and she’s constantly throwing her good news in my face.

She used to bring Emma by on Saturdays and spend the day here cooking and spending time with both kids. She did it for YEARS until she got her fancy new job, so she’s fading that out, too.

XIAO ZHABOR NOT HAPPY HAWKER SERVED CUSTOMER WITH GUIDE DOG, WRITES ANGRY NOTE

Poh Kee Chicken Rice at Toa Payoh, posted on their Facebook page about an incident that happened with a customer who was not happy with them serving a customer with a guide dog, and who left them a passive-aggressive note at their stall twice.

The dispute began when a woman repeatedly left notes at the Poh Kee Chicken Rice stall expressing her displeasure about the presence of a guide dog.

Despite being informed multiple times that the dog was assisting a visually impaired woman, the woman remained dissatisfied.

She accused the stall owner’s wife of not washing her hands after serving the woman with the guide dog on June 23rd, despite the wife clarifying that she had indeed done so.

The woman claimed she did not witness the handwashing and insisted that dogs should not be allowed in food courts.

Guide Dogs Permitted in Dining Areas

Contrary to the woman’s claims, the Singapore Food Agency has clearly stated that guide dogs are allowed in dining areas. These highly trained and essential companions are exempt from the general rule prohibiting pets in such spaces.

The agency recognizes the vital role guide dogs play in supporting individuals with visual impairments and ensures their access to public places, including food courts.

Poh Kee Chicken Rice’s Facebook post

On Friday, the lady in this footage saw my wife serving a visually impaired lady accompanied with her guide dog. This lady claimed that my wife did not wash her hands after serving her. My wife told her nicely that she did, but the lady claimed that she did not see it.

My wife then told her that she was seated so far from my stall, how could she have seen her washing inside the stall. The lady maintained that she did not see it. So I came out from my stall to ask her what was the matter. She said that dogs are not allowed in the food shop.

I replied nicely that she was a guide dog belonging to a visually impaired person, and SFA allows guide dogs to accompany the owners into the shop regardless it’s for takeaway or dining in. If she doesn’t know this, I am more than happy to show her proof and educate her on this matter.

But she remained unhappy and said she will make things difficult for me, cos no matter what dog, dogs are dogs.

I know that I did not commit any offences hence did not hold on to the matter.

Then on Saturday, a staff of the coffeeshop showed me a slip of paper that a lady had passed him to show me. It was a printed screen shot of laws that did not allow dogs in food shops. I told the staff that it was the regular guide dog that visited and the matter was let off.

Fast forward to today, the said lady came to my stall when I was off and just entered it without anyone noticing to paste a copy of the same slip of paper on my cash register table.

Come on la, do u know that u are breaking the law and commiting a criminal offence? By entering private premises and pasting this notice, do u know that u have committed breaking and entering and vandalism ? And by the advise of the Singapore Police Force, harassment will also be one of the offences added in.

I have made a report, and will be following up with the IO tomorrow.

Who knows what audacious things she will do in the future if I do not make a report. She may add poison my things and in the end, my customers and me have to suffer.

Please don’t do this, anything that u are not happy with u can take it out on me, and not do things like this.

Pasting paper like this, u think u loan shark meh…..

GUY AFTER CLUBBING CAN’T FIND TAXI, SO HE CYCLE HOME FROM MARINA SQ TO JURONG EAST

A clubber in Singapore found himself without any available transportation options after a night out at Prism nightclub in Marina Square. Undeterred by the lack of a ride, he took matters into his own hands and embarked on an epic bike journey home from Marina Square to Jurong East.

After a night of revelry, the clubber, whose name is Dan, attempted to book a Grab ride to Jurong East. Unfortunately, none of the drivers were willing to make the trip to the western part of Singapore. Undeterred by the challenge, Dan made a bold decision to cycle home, documenting his journey on TikTok.

Dan’s adventure began at around 4:30 AM on a Saturday. His first hurdle arose in the form of rain, as he had to walk for 20 minutes to find a bike to rent.

Despite getting drenched and facing slippery conditions, Dan persevered and expressed his enjoyment of pedaling through the rain. However, once the rain stopped, he described feeling a bit “icky.”

Thirst became the next obstacle on his journey. Dan came across a locked 7-Eleven store at Tanglin Mall, denying him immediate refreshment. It wasn’t until he stumbled upon a petrol kiosk along Holland Road that he finally managed to quench his thirst.

In addition to battling rain and thirst, Dan faced challenging terrain with steep inclines. He had to navigate park connectors and “forested areas” on his own, encountering some eerie moments along the way.

The Botanic Gardens area and a particular park connector reminded him of scenes from the survival horror game ‘Silent Hill.’

While cycling through the early morning darkness, Dan experienced both creepy encounters and unexpected discoveries. The deserted streets and usually bustling roads created an eerie atmosphere, providing him with a unique perspective on Singapore.

He marveled at the tranquil emptiness of familiar roads and the intriguing ambiance of the forested areas.

Finally arriving home, Dan’s physical journey came to an end, but his reflections and lasting memories persisted. Overjoyed with his accomplishment, he rewarded himself with a satisfying McDonald’s supper/breakfast from the Jem outlet.

Despite the journey taking over two hours, significantly longer than the 51 minutes suggested by Google Maps, Dan felt a sense of fulfillment.

Not only did he save approximately S$25 by not taking a Grab ride, but the cycling experience also offered him a cathartic opportunity for introspection and contemplation.

WILD BOAR SUDDENLY RUNS ONTO ROAD @ SLE, GETS HIT BY 2 CARS & TOH ON THE ROAD

In a recent incident caught on camera and shared on social media, a wild boar darted onto the Seletar Expressway (SLE) before the Upper Thomson exit, resulting in a collision with two vehicles.

The footage has raised concerns about animal crossings on roads and the need for motorists to remain vigilant.

The Wild Boar Encounter on SLE

The incident took place on the Seletar Expressway (SLE) near the Upper Thomson exit at approximately 12:50 PM on Sunday, June 25.

A vigilant netizen recorded the occurrence and shared the footage on the SG Road Vigilante Facebook page. The video begins with the sudden appearance of the wild boar in the middle of the road.

While the person recording the footage narrowly avoided colliding with the boar, unfortunate motorists behind them were not as fortunate.

The video captures one car crashing into the boar, causing an impact, but the resilient animal managed to keep moving. Unfortunately, it found itself in front of another vehicle, which ran over it.

The collision resulted in damage to the second car, with debris falling onto the road near the injured boar.

At present, it remains unclear whether the boar survived the collision. No updates have been provided regarding its condition or any subsequent actions taken to assist the injured animal.

However, such collisions on highways, where animals unexpectedly wander onto the road, often have tragic outcomes.

ACRES Urges Motorists to Exercise Vigilance

The Animal Concerns Research and Education Society (ACRES) emphasizes the need for increased vigilance among motorists, especially when driving along roads that intersect green spaces or forests.

The lack of connectivity in these areas often forces animals to risk crossing roads in their search for safer habitats. ACRES calls upon drivers to be extra cautious in these areas to minimize the chances of such incidents.

To help motorists stay alert and reduce the risk of animal-related accidents, ACRES has provided a list of streets and expressways where increased caution is advised:

  1. Old Upper Thomson Road
  2. Upper Thomson Road
  3. Mandai Road
  4. Lim Chu Kang Road
  5. Yishun Avenue 1
  6. Lornie Road
  7. Expressways (eg, SLE and BKE)

MIGRANT WORKER IN S’PORE GOT DRUNK & BITES OFF MAN’S EARLOBE, JAILED 5 MONTHS

0

In a disturbing incident that took place at a workers’ apartment, a 37-year-old construction worker in Singapore, India national Manohar Sankar, who was under the influence of alcohol at the time, assaulted another man by biting off his earlobe during a scuffle at their workers’ apartment at Upper Serangoon Road.

On Monday (26 June) he was sentenced to five months’ imprisonment and fined S$1,000. The charges brought against him included voluntarily causing grievous hurt and using insulting language.

What happened?

The incident occurred at a workers’ apartment located along Upper Serangoon Road where both Manohar Sankar and the victim, a 47-year-old Indian national, resided in the same apartment.

On the night of May 19, 2020, Sankar consumed alcohol on the rooftop of the apartment, where the victim was also present.

At approximately 10 PM, Sankar directed insults and vulgar words towards the victim in the Tamil language, even resorting to cursing the victim’s mother.

Distressed by the verbal onslaught, the victim requested Sankar to stop his behavior. Ignoring the victim’s plea, Sankar approached him from behind while he was seated on a chair.

Sankar proceeded to bite on to the victim’s left ear, resulting in a scuffle that caused both men to fall to the ground.

The altercation left the victim with a significant injury. Sankar bit off a portion of the victim’s left earlobe, leading to substantial pain and trauma.

The victim sought medical attention the following day due to persistent pain in his left ear. The doctor diagnosed him with a “traumatic left ear laceration” resulting in the loss of a 2cm by 2cm section of his earlobe.

To address the injury, the victim underwent cleaning, dressing, trimming, and stitching of the ear laceration. While his wounds have since healed, he has been left with a permanent disfiguration of his left earlobe.

$100 DEPOSIT + $30 to $50/HR FEE TO BOOK CCK FUTSAL COURT, “NO WONDER SG SOCCER DREADFUL”

0

The Arena @ Keat Hong was unveiled and opened back in 2022, providing a range of sports facilities for the residents of Choa Chu Kang (CCK). However, concerns have been raised by a netizen regarding the requirement of a S$100 refundable deposit to book the futsal court, on top of the $30-$50 booking fees.

The netizen drew attention to a photo shared on Facebook, revealing the rates for booking the futsal court at The Arena @ Keat Hong.

According to the displayed sign, a refundable deposit of S$100 is mandatory per session. This deposit does not include the booking fees, which range between $30 – $50 per hour for non-peak and peak hours respectively.

The netizen questioned the ability of young children to afford such a substantial amount of money for a casual kickabout in their neighborhood. They also highlighted the contrasting situation with other sports facilities in the area, such as basketball, badminton, and volleyball, which are available to residents free of charge.

This raised concerns about the implications for the state of football in Singapore, as kids struggle to find affordable places to engage in the sport without fearing complaints.

Town Council responds

In response, the Chua Chu Kang Town Council (CCKTC) expressed that the refundable deposit serves to encourage accountability among users.

They further explained that the deposit ensures the court’s proper use, considering the potential cost of replacing features that could be damaged.

Notably, the futsal court at The Arena @ Keat Hong boasts an interactive wall for gamified play and artificial turf, which adds to its maintenance expenses. CCKTC emphasized that all deposits have been promptly and fully refunded.

Despite complaints about the fees, the town council revealed that there has been a steady increase in futsal court bookings by residents since its opening a year ago. This suggests that the cost has not deterred individuals from utilizing the facility.

Addressing the concerns raised, CCKTC announced a new initiative to make the futsal court more accessible to residents.

Starting from Saturday, 1 July, and continuing on a first-come-first-served basis, CCKTC will allow free bookings of the futsal court on Sundays from 9 am to 3 pm.

However, it is important to note that these complimentary bookings are specifically for social games and are not intended for private coaching. Residents can make bookings at CCKTC’s main office during operating hours.

The town council hopes that this move will provide more opportunities for residents to enjoy games at the futsal court while fostering sportsmanship and community bonding in the estate.

DRIVER WHO DROVE HIS ASTON MARTIN INTO OFF-DUTY POLICEWOMAN & KILLED HER, FOUND GUILTY

0

On Monday, June 26, a court found Andrew Charles Vasko guilty of causing the death of off-duty police officer Madam Salinah Mohamed.

The incident occurred on February 10, 2019, when Vasko, driving his Aston Martin, collided with Madam Salinah at a crossing in Shenton Way while making a discretionary right turn. Madam Salinah, who was 40 years old and left behind a husband and three young children, succumbed to a head injury four days later.

Vasko, an American and a permanent resident of Singapore, pleaded not guilty to the charge of causing death by a negligent act not amounting to culpable homicide.

The specific accusation against him was failing to keep a proper lookout while making the right turn. Vasko claimed that insufficient lighting and contrast at the scene prevented him from seeing the victim and that he was distracted by a motorcyclist overtaking on his right.

However, District Judge Shawn Ho concluded that Vasko had not observed Madam Salinah walking along the pedestrian crossing, despite the traffic lights being in her favor.

The judge also determined that Vasko had failed to keep a proper lookout and was picking up speed during the turn. He further found that there was adequate lighting and contrast and that Vasko had not been distracted by the motorcyclist.

Judge Ho stated that Vasko’s failure to keep a proper lookout was negligent and that it directly caused Madam Salinah’s death. The court did not hear submissions on the sentence, and both sides requested a later date for that purpose. Vasko will return to court for mitigation and sentencing next month.

Under the charge of causing death by a negligent act not amounting to culpable homicide due to the failure to keep a proper lookout when turning right, Vasko could face a maximum penalty of imprisonment for up to two years, a fine, or both.

Recap

On 10 February 2019, Vasko drank 2 glasses of white wine at about 7pm at Sentosa, with the last of his drink being consumed at 7.45pm.

He then drove his Aston Martin at 9.25pm into the far right lane of Maxwell Road that was heading towards the Straits Boulevard.

He then stopped at the stop line when the traffic light turned red at the junction of Shenton Way, and he was on the far right turning lane.

The traffic light then turned green for him and he then moved his car to the middle of the junction and waited to make a discretionary right turn.

As he was turning right, his Aston Martin then hit Salinah, who was crossing the road halfway from Vasko’s left-to-right view, and the traffic light was in her favour at the time.

She was then thrown onto the road from the impact and sustained a severe injury to her head, and was unconscious when conveyed to the hospital.

She succumbed to her injuries and died 4 days later after being declared brain dead, leaving behind her husband and 3 young children.

Vasko was reportedly driving within the speed limit and passed a breathalyser test, according to court documents.
