WORKER DOWN WITH FEVER & SICK UNTIL LOOK LIKE GHOST, BUT BOSS THINK HE CHAO KENG

0

I’m literally throwing up at work, with a fever, pale as a ghost, and already passed out. Boss says I just don’t want to work….

As the title says. I’m sick, have been all week. I’ll get fired if I don’t show up for my scheduled shifts and my boss is actually going to try and force me to work more hours this week too because I dared to take off a day for being sick as a dog.

I have a fever, severe cough, and I already passed out once today. Not going great so far. Just threw up too almost in front of patrons and I can feel it coming back again.

I told my boss I might need to leave so can she please find someone to cover for me. She just smacked her lips and gave me a sassy remark about how this generation won’t work and always wants to leave and stay home and apparently this is a habit for me now….. Yikes…big yikes.

Netizens’ comments

  1. This is where you get the help of friends. People that your boss doesn’t know. Have them come in as customers who notice you are sick and then raise the roof and ask to speak to the manager. Then they can berate and chastise the manager for having a sick employee on duty.
  2. Make it public. Throw up in front of customers. If you’re feeling light headed and are going to pass out make sure it’s in the middle of the dining room. That way you have a case if they try to fire you over it.
  3. Throw up on a patrons table and then say you were told to come to work or be fired.
  4. Time to find something else it sounds. I’d walk out of it were me. That’s just torture.

MAN GOT WIFE PREGNANT BUT HE DOESN’T WANT THE CHILD BECAUSE “KIDS ARE BORING”

0

Wife is pregnant with child I never wanted

We’ve been together 7 years, married for 1 and she is now 6 weeks pregnant with an accidental pregnancy. I’ve been straight with her for the entire relationship that I never wanted kids.

She always said she was ok either way but has been more into the idea of a baby since we got married.

Now shes pregnant and I’m not excited at all and would like her to terminate the pregnancy but she says thats not what she wants.

I feel like I’m losing my mind. I feel trapped and like I am being forced into a life I dont want and was very clear about it.

If she has it and I feel the same way I do now do I leave? I don’t want to be a deadbeat dad but I also don’t want to be a dad.

I have no childhood trauma from family and my family and parents were great but I’ve never felt any pull at all to raise a child and while I don’t hate kids I do find them boring and they look like a ton of work.

I have about a million other issues I could raise but mostly I don’t want to do it. Not sure what will happen, feel totally out of control of my life.

Netizens’ comments

  1. At this point you know you messed up, and there is nothing you can do to prevent this kid from happening.
    Only your wife can,
If you don’t want to be a father, than leave and pay child support. No kid deserves a parent that don’t want them. Don’t force yourself to be around.
The only thing you can do now is to get a vasectomy like you should have had years ago to prevent yourself to look again like an idiot here when kid #2 is on the way, and you are already broke from the first kid child support.
  2. Not to sound rude but genuinely what did you want out of posting this? There is no advice to be given nor road to be taken. Although I would suggest therapy and a lot of self reflection. Even if there is no trauma linked to not wanting kids, you’re gonna have a kid. You need to develop coping mechanisms and a support network.
  3. OP needs to figure out, to the best of his ability, what kind of dad he can be. Lay out the best case scenario, the worst case scenario, and the most realistic scenario. Do not sugarcoat this.
And he needs to decide what he wants to do, if this baby happens. He sets his own boundaries.
Then he needs to present these truths to his partner, again, with no sugar coating. He should not put even the slightest pressure on her to do anything, but he can and should give an honest presentation of what kind of father he can or will be.
This relationship needs some stark honesty right now. With as much kindness and gentleness as possible, but still honest.

FOREIGNER SAYS S’PORE YOUNGSTERS ARE THE WORST, EVERYTHING BLAME OTHERS

0

Singaporean youth are some of the worst in the world.

yes, you heard that right. I’m an international student over here in Singapore, and I can confirm that Singaporean youth/students are some of the most annoying, deluded, and insufferable youth in the world.

They only focus on studying, one upping each other, are defensive and weird about their selves, and are addicted on social media all the time.

They are also some of the worst to collaborate in group projects, not communicating at all, and then blaming each other when s- hits the fan.

Netizens’ comments

  1. I agrée tbh. The academic system forces sg kids into becoming robotic and over stressed, vs other countries where the kids have more time to play and relax. The worst part is that for all that studying, the long term economic prospects are no better for sg kids than the others
  2. Good point. TBH right we are notorious for being so academically harsh yet when we enter the workforce our prospects are still the same as other first-world countries. So actually what’s the point of suffering through childhood? All the pressure and stress amounts to nothing.
  3. Wait until you get into the workforce… all that carries over.
  4. Not just youth. The adults are no different either, it’s very hard to collaborate with Singaporeans. They never communicate and always complaining about things. Mostly insecure and not open to new things. I’m a computer programmer and have worked with people from all around the world, been in Singapore for 5 years. Singapore is definitely a first world country, but mentality here is yet to be evolved.
  5. I concur. They are probably one of the most immature adults I have seen in my life. Entitled and narrow focused refusing to grow up.
  6. You haven’t seen our elders and senior citizens yet, the apples don’t fall far from the tree!
  7. You think it’s only the youth that are addicted to social media? Go to Raffles Place and see how many adults are glued to their phones.
  8. As another international student here in Singapore, I’ve found the people here to be quite kind and helpful actually. Maybe you got in with the wrong crowd or something?
  9. Sorry limpeh use pager, don’t know what you talking

COUPLE NOT ENOUGH MONEY TO BUY HOUSE, ASK BROTHER WHO STEADILY LENDS $150K TO THEM

0

I (30f) don’t believe in borrowing money but my fiancée (30m) wants to borrow $150k from his brother for our down payment

I’ve been saving for 5 years prior to meeting my fiancee. A long time ago I asked fiancee how much money he has saved up for a downpayment and he said he could put down $300k.

Turns out that $300k is shared between him and his brother. So technically we’ll be in debt for $150k after marriage if we were to use the whole $300k.

I’m upset that he never told me about this. He makes a great salary and he could’ve easily saved up more then $150k on his own without dipping into his brothers funds but he never made an effort to save in the entirety of our whole relationship because he prefers to live in the moment.

I don’t believe in borrowing money from others because i’ve always believed that if your a responsible human being who takes responsibility for oneself and has common sense then there’s no need to borrow money unless it’s from the bank.

I don’t want to be stuck having kids with him with a mortgage PLUS paying his brother back over my head.

I’m not sure if I’m being overly concerned with this whole not borrowing money thing or if I should just let it go. Any advice would be appreciated.

Netizens’ comments

  1. This is one of those moments where I realize I took a very very wrong turn in my life.
    • Yes, the wrong turn being not being born with a brother who could just hand you 150k
  2. Erm, can I borrow 150k from his brother
  3. Why don’t you wait and let him save up? I would be VERY concerned that he had t saved because he prefers to “live in the moment” that does not sound responsible, it sounds impulsive
  4. I would hesitate to marry a person with this particular financial habit. This goes way beyond borrowing an ENORMOUS sum from his brother.

STAFF CAUGHT STEALING MONEY BUT GETS 2ND CHANCE, NOW STEAL PAPER CLIPS, PENS & EVEN TISSUE

0

How much would you tolerate a staff stealing from you?

I’d just like to see where people stand on this.

For context, I’ve taken over my parent’s company and I’m gearing up to run it since they want to retire.

The company is small, and there are only 2 staffs.

One of the staff is very good, she’s incredibly loyal, really goes out of her way to help & does her best at her job. I really appreciate her and she knows it too.

However, I have another staff who is on the other end of the spectrum. She has been with the company for a few years, and she has been stealing money out of the cash register.

The other staff saw her taking money out of the cash register when she was viewing the CCTV. This was the first time she saw it and informed my father.

We suspect that she’s been doing it for a while, but my father never really counted the money from the cash register since he puts lots of trust into his staff.

My father told this staff that she isn’t allowed to steal money – so she’s resorted to “stealing” other things.

She takes all the pens that I purchase for the office, paper clips, uses the office printer to print her sister’s homework / assignments(not just one / two pieces, it’s an entire stack of notes and it happens at least weekly), taking the entire coffee packet & tea box home (when I just bought it- resulting in me having to re-purchase it)

When I put a wet tissue packet on the table – which I said was for everyone to use, this staff finished the entire packet within 3 days. It was a 100 piece pack too.

Once, I baked brownies which was for everyone – I put 4 boxes in the fridge and this staff took the entire 4 boxes home. She didn’t even return my containers.

I know all these might seem very small and silly to feel upset over, but I genuinely feel that she thinks she can “squeeze” me because she knows that I’m lacking manpower.

She would regularly ask my father to purchase lunch & food for her; she has never paid him back for all the lunches he’s bought her.

Once she brought sweet potatoes to the office and let everyone eat it, saying it tasted bad – then demanded everyone pay her back for the “bad tasting” sweet potatoes. I feel that she’s rather calculative.

She regularly and randomly takes “offs” because she wants to attend concerts / greet celebrities at the airport. My father has never said no to her requests.

I was really frustrated when she continues with this “bad behaviour” but my father tells me to let her continue stealing money. He says since we are incredibly short staffed, I have to put up with it since I “desperately need” her.

If it were me, I would not put up with the stealing. I am trying to look for more staff to hire, but it’s really hard. When he told me that she was stealing money, I told him that he should report it to the police but he said to just let it be.

I just want to see what other people think, and if I’m really being “too sensitive” as my father says. He says I have to “give and take” but I feel that theft is a big deal and a huge indicator of one’s character.

I’ve just never met anyone who has behaved this way, and I thought it would be embarrassing for a person to act this way.

GHOST CHILD CAUGHT ON CAMERA, HIDING BEHIND WALL & SLAMMING MAN’S DOOR

A video emerged online showing a man being followed and disturbed by what appears to be a spirit of a child inside his home.

In the video that the netizen posted, he was seen standing in the kitchen behind the counters, cautiously walking slowly towards his foyer. As he approached a wall behind the kitchen counter, the voice of a child could be heard, and the said “child” then peeped out of the wall and looked right at the man.

The child had one hand on the wall, with half of his head out of the wall, as the man held on to his phone and filmed the whole thing, walking towards the boy. The boy then ducked back behind the wall, and the man then hurriedly went to check behind the wall hoping to capture the boy in the act.

However, after he panned his camera to the back of the wall, there was nobody there.

Soon after, there was loud knocking on his front door, and a pale whitish hand could be seen in the video slamming urgently on the man’s door. The man, now visibly spooked, then took off running away from the door as he panted nervously.

Hauntings at apartments

Ghosts are a fascinating and often frightening subject for many people. It is no wonder that they have become a staple of popular culture in movies, TV shows, and books. Ghosts are often depicted as haunting old, abandoned buildings or historical sites. However, there is a growing trend in recent years of reports of ghosts haunting modern apartments. So, why do ghosts haunt apartments?

First, it is important to understand that ghosts are not bound by time or space. They can exist in any location and at any time, regardless of whether it is a new apartment or an old, abandoned building. It is also important to note that not all apartments are haunted, and there may be many factors that contribute to a ghost’s presence in a particular location.

One possible explanation for why ghosts might haunt apartments is related to the energy of the space. Every person and every object emits energy, and this energy can be positive or negative. When negative energy is present, it can attract negative entities, including ghosts. Negative energy can be caused by a variety of factors, including past traumas, arguments, and violence in the space. It is also possible that negative energy can be created by a person’s emotions or behaviors.

Another possible explanation for why ghosts haunt apartments is related to the history of the location. Even if a building is new, the land on which it is built may have a long history that includes tragic events or violent acts. For example, an apartment building may have been built on the site of an old hospital or cemetery, or it may have been the location of a murder or death. In these cases, the residual energy of the past events can attract ghosts to the location.

It is also possible that ghosts haunt apartments because they are looking for a way to communicate with the living. Many people who report ghost sightings in apartments describe the ghost as trying to get their attention or communicate a message. It is possible that the ghost is seeking help or trying to convey important information to the living.

Finally, it is important to note that not all ghosts are malicious or harmful. Some ghosts may simply be lost or confused and are looking for guidance or help in moving on. In these cases, it may be possible to help the ghost find peace and move on from the location.

Singapore Police Force’s press release

14 PERSONS UNDER INVESTIGATIONS FOR FRAUDULENTLY REGISTERING POSTPAID SIM CARDS IN ISLAND-WIDE OPERATION TARGETING HANDPHONE SHOPS

In a 24-hour island-wide operation conducted on 30 and 31 March 2023, officers from the Commercial Affairs Department conducted simultaneous raids targeting eight handphone shops located at Whampoa, Toa Payoh, Woodlands, Tuas and Pioneer Road. Three men, aged between 24 and 31, were arrested for their suspected involvement in fraudulently registering postpaid SIM cards using the particulars of customers’ particulars. Eight men and three women, aged between 28 and 56, are assisting in investigations.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the handphone shop retailers had accessed the computer systems containing registration information for postpaid SIM cards. The retailers would purportedly pre-register SIM cards using particulars of others and sell them to customers who wanted to conceal their identities. An assortment of paraphernalia such as handphones and SIM cards were seized during the operation.

Criminals can exploit such fraudulently registered postpaid SIM cards as an anonymous channel of communications for unlicensed moneylending, scams, and vice, among other illicit activities. Scam syndicates have also been found to perpetrate their criminal activities using such postpaid SIM cards to contact victims and to communicate amongst themselves, so as to evade possible detection.

Investigations are ongoing. The offence of unauthorised modification of computer material under Section 5(1) of the Computer Misuse Act 1993 carries a fine of up to $10,000, an imprisonment term not exceeding three years, or both.

The Police take a serious stance against any person who may be involved in scams and will continue to clamp down on errant handphone shop retailers who may be indirectly facilitating illegal activities. Those involved in such illegal activities will be dealt with in accordance with the law.

MAN CAN’T FIND SEAT INSIDE TRAIN SO HE BRING HIS OWN SOFA, CARRY AROUND LIKE BAG

0

It is a common complaint of many commuters who take public transport, when they can’t find a seat because there are too many fellow commuters.

However, one man in China found a solution to his public transport seating problems, albeit it being a rather unorthodox one.

He brought his own sofa into the subway.

He was seen carrying a single seater sofa on his back like a backpack and going into a train station, and the station authorities were seemingly fine with it and let him go about his business.

The man and his friends filmed a video of him chilling on the sofa inside the train at Hangzhou Metro Line 2 and posted the video online, and it went supremely viral on Chinese social media platforms.

He told the media that he wanted to customise a “portable” sofa and reached out to a designer to bring his ideas to fruition.

They attached a couple of straps to the back of the sofa, allowing it to be carried like a backpack by the user.

The man posted several photos showcasing the different ways one can use and enjoy the unorthodox invention; he was seen sitting on the sofa beside the train doors while the other commuters remained standing, as well as sitting on the sofa at the train platform, seemingly waiting comfortably for his train to arrive.

According to Tianmu News, the man had reportedly sought permission first and asked the staff members at the train station if he was allowed to carry his large sofa backpack.

He was given permission after his bulky sofa passed the security check, although it almost exceeded the maximum carryable limit of 30kg as dictated by the Hangzhou Municipal Transportation Bureau.

He also made it a point to only travel with his sofa backpack during off-peak hours so as not to trouble and cause inconvenience to other commuters.
