MAN SAID AMBITIOUS HIGH PERFORMING COLLEAGUE IS MAKING HIM LOOK BAD

0

what do you think of ambitious colleagues?

I mean it is good for them, I wish them well when they worked really hard trying to advance their career or doing something new outside of their job scope. But sometimes it just makes me really stressed out.

Both of us are fresh grads, I joined like 6 mths before this guy, and our job scopes are similar, with similar pay range. But he seems to always go the extra mile to do stuff. Like during meetings, we are supposed to just show our work progress and what we have done for the week, he just seems to have done a lot more, showing stats and graphs and analytics and whatnot that is not really required for the presentation. He also did some stuff out of his job scope, which impressed the managers. Then after a few weeks my manager talked to me saying I need to follow his example to do more when he was happy with my performance before the new guy came in.

I’m not ambitious, just want a job to have a simple life, and because of this colleague, make me feel worthless and not up to the raised new standard. What if another colleague comes in and performs even better?? Is the bar going to be raised higher and higher with the same pay and job level??

I know people will say “oh just level up and keep level up, this just shows how incompetent you are”, but I’m really not interested enough to live a life that way or want to see my job as a never-ending upwards cycle. Ofc if need be, I will gain new skills required but as of now for my current job this stuff is really out of the job scope.

I’m not blaming people for being ambitious or being salty, I just feel that maybe this is just too competitive for me and I should leave instead of being sad that my performance is getting lower in the managers’ eyes despite me trying to do my best for the job I applied for.

Here are what netizens think:

  • Nah. You do what you paid to do, within your pay grade and job description. Nobody likes a show off in the long run. Maybe they’ll like him now, but once he can’t keep up with his own abilities and showboating, he’s out.
  • You should leave and join a mediocre company that prefers mediocre workers, so that the company with the excellent worker can stop tanking your work
  • His just carrying ballz trying to be the next GM. Either he will be your future GM or get thrown out by current GM if he will feel threaten la.

UNCLE FOLLOWED MAN INTO TOILET AT CHANGI BEACH “WANT BE HIS FRIEND”

0

A man who took videos of an elderly man and alleged that the man wanted to follow him into the toilet, even after he was out of the toilet the man approached him.

He tried to shoo the man away to no avail and decided to film the man. The netizen said that he has since reported the incident to the Police.

Here is what he said:

Hey not sure if this is allowed but I wanted to share it to raise awareness.

Was walking around Changi Beach when this guy approached me asking if I was swimming as I was going to the toilet. He then asked if he could follow me into the toilet but obviously I told him no and asked him to go away.

After I got out I walked around again and he somehow managed to find me. This time he asked for my name, where I stayed etc. but I just waved him off and continued walking.

Then about 10-15 minutes later he found me again and then decided to sit beside me. This time asking to be friends and if I was schooling etc. Initially I didn’t want to make a big deal of it but I got more and more annoyed. Then he went on to clarify that he ”liked young guys” and wanted to follow me into the toilet because he wouldn’t know if he could find me again.

I raised my voice then told him to just go away and not waste my time. Initially he refused to but then left when more people came about.

I wasn’t bothered by him, but I also noticed a lot of younger school kids around. So if you’re a parent or teacher bringing your kids or early teens here, do be wary and watch over them as at the beginning he seemed to be loitering around the toilet area.

**UPDATE**

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, I have just made a police report on the matter.

GIRL REJECTED GUY, WHO THEN ACCUSES HER OF DISCRIMINATING HIM

A man called the fact that I wouldn’t date him ‘discrimination’

‘Do I look like an equal opportunity employer to you?’ is what I wish I could have said. But I couldn’t, and we all know why.

Instead, I had to make myself small, stay ultra alert about my surroundings, and continuously enforce my boundaries, all whilst being terrified. (I was walking alone at night)

Girls and women, I just want you to know that ‘no’ means ‘no’. No matter who it’s from or whatever reason you may or may not have. No should be enough and it’s the end of a complete sentence.

“If a man says no, it’s the end of the discussion. When a woman says no, it’s the beginning of a negotiation.”

Netizens’ comments

  • Gross. Did he say why?? I guess I should just be able to get anyone and if not I’m being discriminated against? Make it make sense….
    • He accused me of being classist and only dating ‘wealthier’ men. He also accused me of being spoiled, and for having certain physical preferences. It honestly didn’t make sense to me.
  • Dating is inherently discriminatory, or at least should be. Wonder if he considers it discrimination to turn down dating women he considers unattractive 🤔

HK PARENTS PAID HK$52,800 AFTER CHILD ACCIDENTALLY BREAKS TELETUBBIES DOLL

A father and mother in Hong Kong went shopping with their children last night, but the boy accidentally bumped into a giant Teletubbies doll placed in front of a toy store, and it was priced at HK$52,800 (9,228.09 Singapore Dollar).

Netizens were enraged when the shop told the parents to pay up as there were no barricades surrounding the teletubbies doll.

Business operator KK plus has come under fire and this afternoon apologised and refunded the compensation paid by the parents.

The mother said that when she was shopping at Langham Place, Mong Kok, she suddenly heard a loud noise behind her. She turned her head and found that her son had destroyed the Teletubbies doll. The employee of the KK plus toy store immediately accused her son of deliberately kicking the doll. She and her husband really Thought that he did not teach well, and not only blamed his son but also the parents.

The mother said that she then received a video sent to her by others, and found that her son just touched the doll, and the doll collapsed and shattered, “I think it’s unreasonable, this is too much, how can the staff say that the child kicked down. , I really think it’s a scam.” She sighed that she wouldn’t dare to go shopping in the future. Many netizens supported the mother and reported that the doll was actually only 1,180 Hong Kong dollars (about 200 Singapore dollars), and this was the fourth doll that was damaged accidentally by a customer.

KK plus issued a statement pointing out that the incident was completely resolved with the consent of both parties, and “the handling method was also proposed by the victim”

Secondly, the official pre-sale price of the large doll was indeed 52,800 Hong Kong dollars, including copyright, design, research and development, transportation and other expenses, plus it is originally used for viewing, and naturally has no resilience to withstand pressure.

The 1180 Hong Kong dollars is a 25 cm small doll. It has been displayed at the current location since November last year, and it did not cause any inconvenience to the guests.”

In an interview with Hong Kong media, the father said that his son was only 5 years old, and his mood has not calmed down since he damaged the doll. Today, he asked for leave from school and did not go to school. He also said that his wife later contacted the operator, believing that the operator should refund the compensation, but was unable to contact the store manager.

Hong Kong lawyer Lu Weixiong said that the boy involved is younger than 10 years old, and according to local regulations, he can be completely exempt from criminal and civil liability. Parents should be able to claim part of the money back even if they have made compensation.

HIT & RUN DRIVER RAN OVER & MERCILESSLY KILLED DOG, FLEES THE SCENE

A hit and run accident took place along Upper Paya Lebar Road under the Bartley Viaduct, where a driver was seen running over a lost dog and speeding off.

The incident happened on 23 May at about 10.32pm, and was captured on the dashcam of another vehicle that was at the scene at the time.

Here is what the owner of the dog said

i’m seeking an eyewitness for the car that ran luca over at Upper Paya Lebar Road, under Bartley Viaduct. He saw Luca from so far away and he still ran him over full speed and dashed off. Other cars were honking at him and he still mercilessly ran him over.

Dear Driver,

do you know how much pain you have caused me over the period of 24 hours? you have made my life a living nightmare – because now you have taken away what was my motivation to continue forward even on a goddamn terrible day.

everyone has one of those – but even if u were having one of those days, can u justify taking away someone’s joy? you probably never knew how much luca meant to me, but he meant the whole world, even more than that.

i’m pretty sure i would have killed a few people for him. if you had slowed down, he probably would still have a fighting chance. if you stopped after hitting him knowing u just ran over someone’s dog, i would’ve been more understanding.

Other cars could hear the impact, you could’ve pulled over but you didn’t. tell me, what’s the backstory? had too many beers or had a fight with your wife? or perhaps using your phone, didn’t see the road infront of you? or u simply had a sick pervasion and got a mild high from running over an innocent animal? sicko.

this is the gift u give me wrapped in a pretty box after i chased after him on foot and my stepmom chased after him in a car for 40 minutes? you really took “joint effort” and mistook it for “run over that dog mercilessly” huh?

excuse my language because i seem to have no choice but to excuse you for giving my dog a severed spinal cord and punctured lung – instantly paralyzing him from waist down and we couldn’t even give him surgery because air filled up his lungs too fast for him to stabilize breathing? or his heart also got displaced?

yeah he was in terrible condition. just to let you know, when i reached him, his hind legs couldn’t move, so he pitifully dragged and scooted his body so close to me. and his lips were curled back because he was in immeasurable pain.

PUB GIRL GOT DRUNK & WOKE UP AT BOAT QUAY WITH HER PANTIES MISSING

Drinking can be fun, but too much can be scary.

A netizen recently shared a post online on how her panties went missing after she got drunk and sleeping in a back alley in Boat Quay.

Here is her story:

OMG! I swear I’m not going to drink anymore, This is the most eff up thing that has ever happened to me.

I was drinking with another female friend at Boat Quay and it quickly got out of hand, we were both mediocre drinks.

My friend is the friendly type and she will mix around and drink with random people in the pub. So we cheers with a few ang moh guys and we continued to drink more and more. When our beer tower finally finished, my friend got drunk and ordered a bottle of Martell.

So she insist that I continued to drink and I’m kind of a pushover and somehow we managed to finish the bottle but I was so drunk.

I think my friend dump me and went home. Here comes the eff up part.

I woke up at around 5 AM at some back alley in Boat Quay and my panties were missing!!! I was so afraid as I assumed the worse and unthinkable had happened to me.

But I was a light sleeper and did not think anyone took advantage of me.

I went back home and took a shower and I was still thinking if anyone had violated me. The next day I called my friend and asked what happened.

She told me I got drunk, came out of the toilet with the panties down and dragged them as I walked out to the streets.

She said it was so dirty she threw it away for me and had a hard time getting me into the taxi as I ran away. She was conscious but too drunk and tried to chase me.

Luckily nothing bad had happened to me.

43 Y.O FILIPINO JAILED FOR FILMING WOMAN SHOWERING, INSTALLED SPY CAMERA

0

A man took videos of a woman who was a co-tenant of a unit and later used the video to make sickening threats at her.

One would describe the man’s action as perverted and overly desperate.

According to Today News, a 43-year-old man was jailed for 21 weeks for one count of voyeurism and one count of harassment.

The victim is a 29-year-old from the Philippines as well, she was sharing the unit with the man as a co-tenant, in the home there were other occupants, the landlord, the landlord’s wife and another couple.

Wooing the woman went wrong

YET ANOTHER CAR CRASHED AFTER HITTING OPEN MANHOLE COVER

A driver shared how he had driven over a manhole cover that was not closed properly on the road and crashed his SUV.

The accident happened on 10 May at about 11.23pm along Jurong West Avenue 2, and the driver said that it was the exact same accident at the same location as an earlier incident.

Here is what he said

I had the exact same accident on 10 May 11.24pm as the one in Jurong West on 12 May, at the exact same location, due to the manhole cover that was not closed properly on the road.

I called the traffic police who cordoned off the area and said they called in people to clear up the area and fix the issue.
