A video emerged online showing an ebike rider riding in the middle of the road, and challenging two drivers before pointing middle fingers at them.

The rider was seen in the video slowing down beside a BMW and staring at the driver, before pointing a middle finger at the BMW driver.

He was also blocking the path of the camcar driver.

The ebike rider then turned his attention to the camcar driver and pointed a middle finger, before challenging the driver to “come down”.

The incident happened on 6 April at about 6.51pm, along Fort Canning Road.

Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said in a Facebook post that the 4G team that is led by Minister of Finance Lawrence Wong, will have their work cut out for them in taking Singapore forward.

He said that they will have to steer Singapore through many challenges, including rebuilding the economy and society in the wake of the pandemic.

He revealed that the plan is “for Lawrence to succeed me as PM, either before or after the next general election in 2025”, provided the PAP wins.

The plan is for Lawrence to succeed me as PM, either before or after (if the PAP wins) the next General Election. It is due in 2025 and will surely be a tough fight.

Lawrence was selected as 4G leader in a process slightly different from the last two handovers. It was a thorough and carefully deliberated process, with the strengths and weaknesses of the potential candidates actively sought. My thanks to former Cabinet Minister and PAP Chairman Khaw Boon Wan for facilitating this process.

The senior Cabinet members and myself will guide and advise the younger team as we transition towards the new leadership.  I wish Lawrence and his team the very best in carrying Singapore forward.

Facebook user Keenon Lee Pei Hong, posted a video onto the group Complaint Singapore, documenting how he discovered styrofoam inside a toilet wall during construction.

The Housing and Development Board (HDB) have since clarified that they are aware of the video circulating online, according to Today.

They said that the foam Lee found inside the walls is polyethylene foam, which is allowed for use in construction.

HDB added that the foam is “sandwiched between two layers of cementitious mortar and reinforced with wire mesh, to form a sandwich wall panel.”

They added that it provides properties such as sound insulation and good thermal properties, and that they do not affect the structural safety as they are used for internal partition walls.

However, HDB added, sandwich wall panels with polyethylene foam are no longer in use in HDB flats today, although they are still being used overseas.

HDB further added that they have continued to apply new ideas and technology to improve the quality of flats, with the sandwich panels being replaced in newer flats with drywall, or light concrete panels, which contain sound dampening materials and offer good sound insulation.

A black-colored Honda that purportedly belongs to Shariot Car Sharing, was caught on camera beating a red light.

The incident happened on 15 April at about 6.02pm, somewhere along Jurong East Street 11.

The Honda was seen thundering past a red light at a traffic stop, while the other cars came to a stop at the red light.

Potential penalties

It is an offence to beat a red light in Singapore.

Drivers found guilty of failing to conform to traffic light signals face a composition fine of $400 for light vehicles and $500 for heavy vehicles.

They also face 12 demerit points and if a driver accumulates 24 or more demerit points within 24 months, their license will be suspended.

A TikTok user, @rewrite_mytrauma, posted a video sharing how she was disowned by her parents for refusing to pay for her sister’s lavish expenses.

She said in her video: “I just got disowned by my parents just now because I refused to fund my sister’s lavish lifestyle when she’s here in the U.S. as an international student. They sent her here three years ago knowing that they don’t have the means to pay for it themselves.”

She explained, while crying, that her parents made her pay for all of her sister’s responsibilities, including her lodging, tuition fees and living expenses.

She was also made to pay for her sister’s debts, which included owing her friends for shopping, clubbing, bars, and food deliveries.

“I’m just so done with it. I put my foot down today because she uses my card to spend $500 on some shopping expenses,” she said while choking back tears.

She added that “I told them that I’m done, and if they want her to remain in the U.S., they had to figure it out themselves. I was called stingy. I was called ungrateful and that I got to where I am because of my family and it is my time to pay it back. It is my responsibility to care for my parents and my siblings. So I am their retirement fund, the college fund for my younger siblings.”
