I thought there will be sufficient stations as stated by the authorities so as not to inconvenience patrons. A bigger problem I have here is that there is a cleaner supervisor who acts like a tyrant. He shouts at patrons and acts like he is the tai kor in the hawker center, but in reality he’s the janitor.
Does he have the right to tell people off especially with such an aggressive tone? Don’t they have Sgclean ambassadors and enforcement to do that job? I believe he’s just trying to reduce his own workload so he can sit in the corner and smoke.
Why is smoking allowed in a hawker center in the first place? He makes the environment really toxic and turns customers off. I think NEA needs to reign him in.
A man with a history of criminal records worked as a safe distancing ambassador and use physical violence against two individuals which resulted in a 3 weeks jail.
40-year-old Aloysius Hoe Wei Peng and his ex-GF beat up a GrabFood deliveryman at Punggol Mall, he kicked the man in the stomach and even crushed his spectacles by stepping on it. His ex-girlfriend 33-year-old Wan Farah Shireen Abu Hassan slapped the man.

A netizen shared a story with us of how he actually lent money to his close friend because the friend did not have enough for living expenses but kept seeing his friend live a good life on social media while he slogs it out.
Here is his story
“I have known an ex colleague who became a friend, lets just call him ‘K’ for story’s sake, for almost three years.
K is someone who to me had no drive and ambition when I first known him but because of the pandemic, he actually started maturing and improving himself.
He got together with a more career successful girlfriend during the pandemic as well.
One day K approached me to lend him $250 as he said that he was a little tight on living expenses and needed some money to make ends meet.
He said that he needed three months to pay me back as he calculated that his salary for the next two months will not be enough as he had to pay his rent etc.
Out of goodwill and as I had some extra money from working another job at that time, I agreed to lend him.
From the time when he borrowed money from me, he did not really contact me anymore and I have been seeing him on social media living a high life, eating good food and going to pubs with his girlfriend and another few loaded friends.
Side track a bit, I feel that he is trying very hard to keep up with his girlfriend’s spending capabilities and his girlfriend probably does not know he is struggling.
I asked him before to be honest with his girlfriend about his finances as they are planning to get a Condo and get married, but he say that his girlfriend knows how much he earns but he will never let her know that he needs to borrow money here and there to settle his expenses.
Even though I did not want to nit pick on his private and social life, I feel very uncomfortable seeing him lead a life as if he is very loaded when he claims that he is broke.
To me it is super unfair as I slogged to earn extra money and do not even lead a high life while he borrows money from me and acts like he has alot of money.
He tried to borrow another $150 to make it a total of $400 but I am glad that rejected him because if I lent it to him I don’t know how long it will take to get back my money.
I asked him back for my money on the third month, and he transferred me half back, saying that he has not enough and needs another month.
I had enough and told him that I urgently needed it, to test if he treats me like a friend but he simply did not even read my message or give me a blue tick and continues living his high life with his girlfriend and another few friends who simply does not mind if he owes them money etc.
Probably once he returns me my money, I am gonna cut off all contact with him.”
The man has been missing since 28 August and family members of the elderly man have been using social media to spread the word. The Police went to the family of the elderly man yesterday (31 Aug) and told them that the man was found dead inside Singpost.

Dear all, It is with the deepest sorrow to inform you that our Father/Father-In-Law has passed on. Police came up to Haig Road house 1 hour ago and informed us that his body was found inside Singpost.

A netizen who is presumably a doctor, shared how she was rushing to her clinic in the morning and booked a ride via Gojek.
Upon learning about her working at a clinic, the driver dropped her off on the main road and told her that he was “uncomfortable driving (her)”.
Here is the story:
“I was rushing to my work place in morning and booked a Gocar.
When the driver arrived and picked me up he started talking to me and asked me casually if I m working in Paragon and I replied yes. Then he asked me if I work in a clinic and my reply was yes.
And he suddenly stopped the car just outside on the main road and asked me to get off the car as he said he was not comfortable driving me.
I was in utter disbelief so I asked him if he really meant it and he said yes… he has kids at home and he would not want to drive me.
I was shocked but still respecting his wish I got off the car feeling bad how doctors are being disrespected when they are actually serving the society.
As the trip had already started he was unable to cancel it so he asked me to cancel the trip.
Obviously, I was also not going to be able to do so once the ride had started… this would result in his financial loss as he can neither charge me nor cancel.
So then he changed his mind and asked me to sit in his car again. I was quite hurt and did not want to travel in his car anymore.
I did sent mail to @Gojek but have not heard back from them yet except the automatic response that they would give me some small free voucher..
I m totally disheartened and saddened by such rude and selfish behavior from driver and Gojek
Such discrimination against doctors and other medical staff is totally unacceptable. A soldier fighting on front war for our safety needs more love and respect and affection.
At this time medical staff are soldiers dressed in white and risking their own as well as their family’s life to perform their duty and protect society.
They need extra love and respect and not such dealings at any cost. Do u agree?”

“Few years ago a girl I was dating dumped me for the most stupid reason
My pes status , and my rank in the army.
For the 1st year of us being together the topic of national service never came up.
I only causally mentioned I had been downgraded my pes status.
She then asked if I was an officer
I told her no She then asked ,so you’re a Sargent?
I remember my exact reply “no just a regular man”
She then said “you have no drive that’s why”

That night she sent me one long text reminding me of my “lack of drive ” me not being fit and not being an officer and not being good in uni and not “hustling ” to earn $$It’s been 7 years since this happened . I still laugh about this and feel super blessed.
I own my own SME now ,and turns out her husband (the same guy) has applied for a job but hid CV says Logistics officer(S4) And he’s only got a 2nd upper .I didn’t hire him ,I refered him to some other of my business associates firms because am not spiteful at all.
