HDB FLOOR INFESTED WITH ANTS, ASK FOR HELP BUT IGNORED

Image for illustration purposes only

Hi, I’m living at Blk 691A, Woodlands Drive 73 S(731691). Level 6. There has been ants infestation on our floor for weeks, there will always be a long trail of ants all along the corridor at our main doors side, some loose ones would attempt to come into our house at times.

I can’t find the nest and have just feedback to the building service centre (ours is BTO) but they brushed it off as probably just some food lying around (like I said I didn’t find any source) and just took a note of it (I have to tell them that maybe town council or whoever can go and do an inspection and pest control service).

Disappointed with the lack of professionalism, thus I rather feedback here again in case the message is not passed probably to town council. It may not be a major issue now but it can grow worse and deeply affect our homes. Kindly action on this and let me know the follow up actions, thanks.

PORT NUMBER TO STARHUB. BUT WAIT LIKE ‘FOREVER’ STILL NOT PORTED

I requested to port over from M1 to StarHub yesterday and received a sms from StarHub saying that you will port over the M1 number at 11pm and I can insert my new StarHub SIM card this morning 3am.

Until now I still can’t use my mobile to make or received phone calls as it reflect on my phone that there’s no service!!!! If you can’t promise to port over by 3am than do not make stupid empty promises as it affect me the end user. When I call up customer officer around 7am, she told me that she will check and return my call (home number). I waited till 10 plus but I have yet to receive any updates so I decided to call 1633 again.

This time they told me we have already send you contact to relevant department and they will call you by today. I ask her by when, she say not sure…what is this….???

Is this the way StarHub SOP works?? Making empty promises and treat your customer as a fool?? I demand a full explanations on this matter and why do starhub send sms to ask customer to insert new SIM card but the backend worker didn’t even do their job to port in my number?? Is this the same story as SMRT train again???

Didn’t do work but said they have done???
I demand an explanation ASAP😡😡😡

NETIZEN CLAIMS SINGTEL IS ARROGANT DESPITE BEING TOP TELECO

Had the worst experience with Singtel. I thought that the top telco in Singapore would deliver top notch quality service but I guess I was wrong. I had the broadband installed last Friday on the 11th and the technician told me that it will be activated 3h later.

But I didn’t receive any calls/ updates until about 5hours later that there is some error with their system(?). They will resolve it asap for me. Okay, so i waited. UNTIL TODAY IT IS STILL NOT ACTIVATED! 🤷🏻‍♀️ i call abt 3/4 times a day to get updates personally instead of RECEIVING updates promptly since it’s an ESCALATED case. I am really disappointed because it seems that you don’t value customer’s time and keep them hanging in mid air without any proper update at the end of the day.

The least you could do is call and tell me that it could not be done by the end of the day. You keep saying that you will arrange for someone to call and update me but i have not received any calls. I had to call in myself. So we decided to cancel on our subscription and WE ARE MADE TO WAIT AGAIN.

Someone from the relevant department will call you tomorrow regarding the procedure”.

I look forward to that call. Thank you for showing me how arrogant the top telco in Singapore can be. I will never subscribe with Singtel again.

COUPLES ‘DIVORCED’ SO CAN BUY 2 HDB FLATS BUT STILL STAY TOGETHER

Bumped into an ex-colleague (who is the same age as me) earlier and had an interesting brief catch up chat over coffee.

He and his wife are now divorced. But except that there is nothing wrong with their marriage and they are still living together. The sole purpose of getting the divorce is to be able to buy ANOTHER HDB FLAT (under the singles scheme). So they collectively own two HDB flats as two single individuals.

You see, he was a manager that had recently been displaced by cheaper foreign labour. As all of us know, at our age, there is a real challenge in getting a job that would pay him a decent salary. Yes, there are lots of employers that wants to hire him. He is, afterall, a qualified professional with a wealth of 30 years’ experience behind him. However, these greedy employers are just not willing to pay him his worth and wants to exploit his skills and experience for a mean salary. He refused to prostitute his skills for a low salary. He end up driving a cab that (ironically) pays him more than any of the offers that he had received.

He won’t be getting any of his CPF money next year because he won’t be able to meet his minimum sum. All his past CPF contributions (more than $800K) had already gone into his 5rm HDB flat that they are staying in now.

His wife has some CPF left but she (too) won’t be able to get a single cent out in a few years’ time because she (too) won’t be able to meet the minimum sum as well.

So they planned, got a divorce and bought a second HDB flat just before they could lock away her CPF as the minimum sum in her CPF.

They then moved into the new flat and rented their older flat out legally because he had already and duly met the “Minimum Occupation Period” required for the legal renting out for that flat. And this rental income will serve an additional passive retirement income.

When I asked if he would be flouting any HDB regulations by doing that, he replied,

1) They are legally divorced and they are both legally SINGLE now.
2) He can retain the existing 5rm flat under the singles scheme and his wife is eligible to buy another flat under the singles scheme.
3) There is no law in this land that prohibit two single persons (divorced or not) from living together as a couple regardless if they were previously married or not.
4) At his age, being legally married is just a marital status. It doesn’t stop them living together as man and wife. They both had made their wills.
5) Instead of having the money stuck as a minimum sum in their CPF, they might as well utilise whatever that they can get out of their CPF so as to get an alternative passive income since:-
– – a) they won’t be able to get any of their CPF money anyway
– – b) even when they do get their CPF monthly payouts after the age of 65 yrs old (which is still a long way to go), the amounts will be so miserable that they would hardly be able to do anything decent with it anyway…
– – c) so…. they might as well get a second HDB flat with whatever money that they can siphoned out from their CPF (before the money is being locked away instead under the minimum sum)…. rent it out and (at least), the monthly rental income of $2,500 can help them live a more dignified retirement IMMEDIATELY (right away) rather than waiting till they reach 65 yrs old for that miserable delayed CPF payout that is so insignificant….

Thinking aloud now…. could this be the new norm of retirement in Singapore that Singaporeans will be planning for? Wouldn’t it be so sad that we have to come to this, in order that we can respond to how our hard-earned CPF money is being wilfully and forcefully withheld from us…

ESCALATOR STOP SUDDENLY @ RAFFLES PLACE MRT. MOTHER ALMOST FELL

Weeks ago I wrote a feedback requesting a response but did not hear back from any SMRT staff at all. My mother was using the escalator at Raffles Place one early morning where suddenly without any warning nor announcements it was stopped abruptly causing her to almost fall.

One can simply imagine the disaster it might have become if an elderly were to be injured due to the negligence of your staff. Was it so difficult to make an announcement or put up a sign or simply check if anyone is riding up the escalator before stopping to service it?

Perhaps there are so many pressing issues that SMRT is facing therefore a feedback like mine is deemed redundant & not required to have any response.

Or perhaps SMRT finds that it does not have enough of bad publicity? I can’t imagine having to worry about my family & friend’s well-being when they use the public transport nowadays.

It was a test to my patience as I wait for weeks Fr a reply & have to resort to posting on Facebook in order to elicit some kind of response on what SMRT will do in future to prevent similar incidents from happening.
