When a passenger approached the Passenger Service Centre at Marsiling MRT station, Station Manager Gerad Sequeira noticed that she was barefoot on one foot and was holding a slipper in her right hand.
Sensing that she required some help, he stepped out of the PSC and went up to her. She explained that one of the straps on the slipper had broken, and requested for a rubber band to try and fasten it.
As a rubber band may not work too well, SM Gerad suggested to help the passenger personally by using a stapler to attach the broken-off strap to the slipper. After a few attempts, SM Gerad realised that it would not work, and even if it did, the strap might possibly break off along the passenger’s journey to work. As the nearby shops have not opened and the passenger was in a hurry to report for work, SM Gerad offered his own slippers to the passenger so that she can head to work on time.
“To me, going the extra mile means I have to empathise with my passengers when they are caught in difficult and stressful situations, and go above and beyond the call of duty to assist our passengers in order for them to have a safe and reliable journey.” SM Gerad shared.
Thank you for showing us what it means to be a true #SMRTHero, SM Gerad!

Did the old man put his leg up on the opposite seat, or just on the platform without the seats? What do you think? He disturb anyone with his behaviour? Should the netizen just try informing the elderly man instead taking his photo and posting on social media?
Masjid Yusof Ishak Mosque Management Board would like to clarify regarding the recent Chinese New Year lunch programme held at our mosque on Saturday 24 Feb 2018.
I have just been charged a delivery charge for a non delivery by Fairprice online. I looked through my order and invoice documents but could not find a clause that states that there will be a charge for non delivery. I am not sure if this is fair practice to the consumer. If this is the case, then the consumer can also charge Fairprice for late delivery and non delivery. I will be seeking CASE advice if this is a fair treatment on consumer rights.
