Sivabala Murugan Vindan, 25-years-old was sentenced to 1-year jail after attacking Mr Ramesh Valaiyapthi,22-years-old on 06-02-2017 after a drinking session at a friend’s birthday celebration located at Orchid Country Club.
The argument started before the posting on Facebook of insults towards Sivabala’s mother. It started because the 22-year-old pulled a chair away from Sivabala before he could have a chance to sit.
Friends stopped them from arguing but the 22-year-old posted some insults on Facebook.
After Sivabala discovered the insults, he equipped himself with a samurai sword and headed to Ramesh’s blk and search every single floor and unit for Ramesh. After locating him, Sivabala pulls out his 80cm samurai sword and managed to slash Ramesh’s left ear.
The police were alerted and Sivbala fled the scene. He was later arrested on 1st of July 2017.
