MOTHER FELL INTO DRAIN WITH 2 Y.O SON AFTER METAL DRAIN FELL THROUGH

I usually hate Facebook posts like these, but I don’t know how else to get the word out.

Last Saturday (26 January 2018) evening, my wife and I were at The Grandstand. We were leaving Kidzland and walking towards our car. My wife was carrying my 2-year old son. She stepped on a drain grating which divided the entrance of Kidzland from the car park, when the grating collapsed under her. She fell into the drain suffering a number of cuts and scraps. Unfortunately, as she fell forward whilst dropping into the drain, my son also hit his head on the road.

The staff of Kidzland were great and provided first aid assistance. We went to see a doctor immediately after. My wife had to get a tetanus shot. We have since been monitoring our son and, thankfully, he hasn’t exhibited any symptoms of concussion so far.

What’s driven me to post this is the response from The Grandstand’s management office:

– We received a call on Saturday night asking for details of the incident, but have not heard from them today.

– I was at The Grandstand again today and wanted to speak to someone from their management office. The security guard refused to let me know where it was and diverted me to the Concierge. The Concierge allowed me to speak to someone from the management office by telephone, but the person had no knowledge of the incident. I was told to expect a reply from them.

– I went back to the location of the incident, and found that the drain grating had been replaced without repair or warning signs. In other words, another person could easily step on same corner of the grating and fall through. The location of the defective grating is between the family parking lots, and Kidzland and Giant i.e. highly trafficked by family, children and the elderly.

The concierge and security guards were absent by then, and I called the management of Kidzland (who had earlier kindly followed up) to notify him. Tomorrow, I will try to reach out to the Grandstand again.

In the meantime, please be careful at the Grandstand!

THE CAT MUSEUM IS HOPING RAISE $1 MILLION TO CARRYING ON TAKING CARE OF THE KITTENS!

0

Please help us to SHARE… the kitties need YOU!!!

With your encouragement & support, The Cat Museum is hoping to raise $1 million for a down payment to buy a permanent space and make a comeback before the end of the year.

If 10,000 heroes give $100, or 100,000 give $10, the kitties can live on. We hope you feel that what we do is worth continuing, and we can leave something for the next generation.

Help The Cat Museum live on by:

1. Our worldwide fans can donate in US$ : https://www.generosity.com/animal-pe…/save-the-cat-museum–3

2. Donating in S$ at : https://gogetfunding.com/savethecatmuseum/
or https://give.asia/campaign/save_the_orphan_baby_kittens

4. A bank transfer to DBS Current 033 9049 743 or OCBC 686 362 385 001.

5. Monthly donations at https://www.patreon.com/thecatmuseumsg

The $1 million-dollar goal will go towards:

1. A permanent Kitty Orphanage, Kitten Kindergarten & Nursery,

2. Education Programmes like Kiddie Cat Camps to nurture compassion, kindness & responsibility in kids,

3. Guiding potential adopters on Responsible Cat Parenthood, and

4. We have future plans to collaborate with the Agri-food Veterinary Authority (AVA) to help cats captured because of complaints.

Increasingly, there has been more cases of cats being tortured and killed in Singapore. They have been stabbed, poisoned, decapitated and thrown from high-rise buildings. Those that survive, suffer tremendous pain. You can save them from this suffering. Shelters & individual fosterers are already overwhelmed, and without The Cat Museum, more will die.

ATTN ALL CAT LOVER!! CAT MUSEUM IN SINGAPORE IS CLOSING DOWN!

0

This country has no place for anything relaxing, cute and affordable. It is too “sterile”. Rental is too expensive — look at how many retail shops have had to close. Buildings get torn down often — there is no historical significance at many places.

You always need to think money $$$$$ to be sustainable here. I don’t like it. I need a good place to chill. Life is not always about $$$$$.

I need my cats. Meow.
