Recently, a TikTok video was circulating on Whatsapp of a man speaking Hokkien claiming that the Police is apprehending an armed suspect with an obscene amount of drugs.
The Police has since clarified on the incident and said the person who made the video is spreading false claims
Here is what the Police posted on Facebook earlier today:
“ [𝗣𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗢𝗡 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗜𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 𝗥𝗘𝗚𝗔𝗥𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗜𝗡𝗖𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗔𝗧 𝗕𝗟𝗢𝗖𝗞 𝟯𝟬𝟵 𝗖𝗟𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗜 𝗔𝗩𝗘 𝟰 𝗢𝗡 𝟭𝟳 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗖𝗛 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟭]The Police are aware of various falsehoods circulating online in relation to an incident that the Police and Singapore Civil Defence Force (“SCDF”) had responded to on 17 March 2021 at 8.07am, at Block 309 Clementi Ave 4.
The Police and SCDF had responded to the incident as a 38-year-old Caucasian man had locked himself inside a residential unit. The man was uncooperative and was assessed to pose a danger to himself. Police officers gained entry into the unit at about 12.20pm. The man was eventually apprehended under the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) Act and is being investigated for suspected consumption of controlled drugs.
The Police understand that there are various falsehoods circulating online and via messaging applications in relation to this incident, alleging that an array of firearms and 20 kilograms of drugs were seized.
There were also claims that several Malay and Indian persons were arrested during the incident, and one of them had attempted to evade arrest by jumping down the block. These statements are categorically false.
The Police would like to clarify as follows:
(a) No firearms or narcotics were seized during the incident;
(b) Only one person was arrested – the 38-year-old Caucasian man;
(c) The Caucasian man is not a drug trafficker; and
(d) No person had attempted to evade arrest by jumping down the block.
The Police are investigating the circulation of such falsehoods under an offence of Communicating a False Message under Section 14D of the Miscellaneous Offences (Public Order and Nuisance) Act (the “Act”). Under Section 14(D) of the Act, any person who transmits or causes to be transmitted a message knowing it to be false or fabricated may be liable, upon conviction, to a fine not exceeding $10,000, a jail term of up to 3 years, or to both.The Police will not hesitate to take action against anyone who transmits or communicates falsehoods. Members of the public are advised to refer to official sources for information and to avoid spreading unverified information or false rumours, as these may cause fear and unnecessary public alarm. “

She questioned us on our hygiene practices and Halal certification (which was fine; we do get enquiries from time to time).

It was believed that many suicides occurred at Farrer Court and there were even sightings of a lady in red lingering in the vicinity.
Even after the redevelopment of D’Leedon condominium, a Belgian pleaded guilty to killing his own 5-year-old son in 2015. It was stated that the man was facing mounting pressure in a battle with his French wife over custody of their young son, so he decided to kill him by pressing a cushion over the boy’s head. After killing his son, he then tried to kill himself by deliberately crashing his car into the wall of the tunnel in the Marina Coastal Expressway.

Block H was the innermost block in Farrer Court and is full of trees, that place was always shaded. Every other day coming back from school, even from a distance I would see someone in a red dress at the pillars.
This can happen even in broad daylight. Many times, it would be me walking under the block and seeing some lady in red walking diagonally but when I pass the spot, there is no one on the other side of the pillar. This was a common occurrence all my life so I have learned to identify what’s a ghost and what’s not.
I checked with another friend of mine, Maya, who lived in Block G, a 25 story point-block on a hill that’s adjacent to ours. Her family has stayed there since like forever and when I told her that I kept seeing this woman in red lingering under my block, she said, “oh, a few years back there was a suicide at my block. A lady dressed in full red outfit had committed suicide by jumping off the balcony. The apartment belonged to her boyfriend and people suspected their relationship had gone sour and this was her way of getting back at him.”

Every night without fail, when everything was extremely extremely quiet, I would hear a ball bouncing at the basketball court. My room window was overlooking the tennis and basketball court and it is quite clear that there was absolutely no one there but yet u can hear the ball bouncing, just bounce bounce bounce…..
I strongly believe that that place makan* people every few years. It must be the land because for some weird reason people are attracted to go there to commit suicide. The place just attracts death. [Makan* literally means “to eat” but in this context it means “to claim the lives of”]
There was a murder that happened at Block F, I remember, which is a block I would have to walk under to get to my own block. A maid went berserk inside one of the units in and stabbed the employer multiple times. The employer died from the injuries and it was a bloody scene. My friend who lived in Block G was gave me live commentary as the struggle was happening because she could see everything as it was unfolding. The police eventually managed to apprehend the maid after kicking the door open, and reaching through the gates but it was all too late. The resident of the property could not be saved.
There were many other murders; murders and suicides. It didn’t happen all the time, of course, but it happened frequent enough for it to be peculiar, and not all of them were reported in the papers.
Another Singaporean, Dian, confirmed the sighting of the spirit dressed in a red cheongsam and shared a detailed experience she had at Farrer Court as well.
I was about 9 yrs old when this incident happened but till today whenever I retell this story it makes me skin crawl. (I’m typing this at midnight right now and my hubs is working night ).
There was a Chinese lady standing outside our house. And I presumed Chinese because she was wearing a red cheongsam (a traditional Chinese outfit that was popular with the ladies from the 20s to the 60s). She had medium length hair which fell just below her shoulders. Her face was turned to her right but her eyes were downcast and her hair was partially covering her face. What was fking creepy was, she had a fking smirk on her face and she was slowly turning her head, presumably to look at me.
This was when i noticed that her skin was bluish. At that instant I knew I was not looking at something human. I knew that “she” knew I was looking at her through the peephole. I fking ran back to the room terrified but sadly I didn’t breathe a word about what I saw to my sisters, even when they asked me if it was my mum at the door. I couldn’t sleep properly for many days after because the image of that lady flashed my head. I was so scared to even look at the direction of the main door whenever i walked to the kitchen at night for fear of seeing feet under the door again.
It was ONLY about 10 years LATER, I related the incident to my sisters and mum and we then found out why my mum always made us wait for her downstairs whenever she worked nights.
She told us that she would ALWAYS see a lady in red downstairs in between the pillars when she came home late.
But she never told us why she wanted us to fetch her as she didn’t want us to be scared! But she herself was terrified laaaah! Imagine making your 3 young latchkey kids wait for you bawah (below) block in a secluded apartment block! And worst still, my sisters also said that they would always catch glimpses of someone in red behind the pillars too while we waited for my mum! Found out all this only 10 years later!
According to my mum , one of the estate cleaners told her that the lady used to live in the neighboring block and had jumped off from her block in red after finding out that her husband had been cheating on her! The cleaner was a middle aged Malaysian lady who had been working in our estate for quite a while.

A motorcyclist and a car driver stepped forward to help the elderly man to cross the road. Such kind acts are indeed commendable as the more you give life, the more you’ll have life.
A male cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene after getting involved in a fatal accident with an SVS bus on Friday.

The man was believed to have been trapped under the bus and the Singapore Civil Defence Force had to use a piece of lifting equipment to rescue him. But still, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident happened at the junction of Loyang Avenue and Pasir Ris Drive 1 at around 10:40pm.
A video was recently uploaded on Youtube which shows 2 Taiwanese jie jies travelling around Singapore trying to taste all the famous Laksas in Singapore.
They stated that the most overrated and disappointing one was Sungei Road laksa which was located at Jalan Berseh. They stated how it was tasteless and wasn’t worth the hype.
