I am terribly shocked when i cooked Emperor Chicken today using Seah’s Emperor Herbs Chicken Spices.
The plastic which was provided together with the packaging MELTED.
I have to throw away the chicken.
I have been cooking the Emperor Chicken with Seah’s spices for a few years and has never encounter such problem.
I still have one packet which I have not use and is wondering should I throw it away or keep as evidence?
I have now Totally LOST CONFIDENCE IN SEAH’s PRODUCTS.
I hope AVA can look into this matter and keep the public informed of this terrible health hazard product.
I am a tutor and MOE relief teacher. I have a Pri 6 student this year and I am appalled when I see her Prelims Maths paper.
Schools have a “tradition” of setting their prelims paper much harder than PSLE papers, especially for the Maths paper. I have practised with the student questions from several past-year prelims papers from top primary schools throughout this year. But when I see the questions in the Paper 2 of the Maths prelims paper, I am appalled. At least 50-60% of the questions in Paper 2 are really “out-of-the-box”.
The purpose of having tests and exams in schools is to test whether a student has learnt the concepts that he/she is being taught in school. If the schools want to “challenge” the students n perhaps sieve out the better students, the schools can set a few challenging, out-of-the-box questions. But I think a good rule of thumb is 5-10% of the total questions. This is because it is fair to mostly test what the students have been taught and practised in schools.
As a teacher who also set test and exam questions, I would like to propose a change in this “tradition” for a couple of reasons. Firstly, by setting such a large percentage of questions “out-of-the-box”, it is really disadvantageous to the average students. They may not do well even if they had been studying hard for the exams. These questions are already very challenging to the bright students who have been studying hard and may have access to past-year exam papers and tuition. In addition, these students do the papers under exam conditions, with time constraints and under stress and pressure. This is very demoralising to the students. Primary school students are really just children who do not understand life. Some may not be able to pick themselves up after such a blow to their confidence. This is especially when there is only about 1 more month after prelims to their PSLE papers. How do they overcome their disappointment to continue revising for their PSLE with confidence?
Secondly, some Singapore parents do severely scold and even cane their children when they do not do well in school. Many parents are not familiar with the school syllabus, so they will tend to judge their children’s performance in schools based on their school results. If the child gets severely punished by his/her parent for not doing well in the prelims, how would the child feel, especially in addition to feeling disappointed and losing confidence in himself/herself in the first place? The child can feel more demoralised and lose self-esteem. It can be emotionally scarring for these primary school students, who are still children.
To schools and MOE, maybe there should be a rule of thumb that 5-10% of questions in test and exam papers are out-of-the-box. This will make it fair for all students, regardless of their abilities and preparation for the tests and exams. We also have to be sensitive to the emotional well-being of primary school students because they are still children after all and are not able to understand many things about life yet.
To my student, do not be disheartened. Continue to revise for and take your PSLE with confidence.
P/S: The student is from a neighbourhood primary school.
Hello guys. I am posting this up not only to create awareness but also because it’s easier to explain to everyone now than for each concerned Friend to ask me one by one when they see me from now till (I recover).
What happened: I was at a club (and I haven’t been to one in ages) because it was a special event night of oldies. My friends and I jostled through the happy crowd to the middle of the dance floor, just like every other party goer.
Three women who were already there didn’t like the fact that we were beside them. However we didn’t intrude their space Nor pushed them at all. I am the one standing the closest to them.
I was still sober, and I could see the two women making glances at my perpetrator. I think it was an indication to her that “hey u see they wanna try and invade our space” so the perpetrator, I assume a woman in her late 30s-40s started to use her body weight (she’s probably x2.5 of me) to shove me backwards.
I moved to give in at first, but her perpetual shoving (using her ass) became very very aggressive and intentional. And my first thought was “I don’t want trouble.” So I just started to dance, facing my friends and back facing her.
She pushed and pushed. This time her entire body and ass was literally trying to mow me flat. I stood my ground because I have no more space anymore and she has a fk ton of space in front of her. She just wanted to pick on me.
When she realised I’m not gonna budge anymore (When I have already moved at least 3 strides to accommodate her shoving, making my friends all squashed) she turned around, facing me. I immediately felt her weight gone from my body and thus turned around too.
I thought she was going to confront me like yell at me or challenge me by scolding some vulgarities but no. She immediately lunged for my head, but I Guess she missed and thus left all these wounds on my cheeks instead. She grabbed me forcibly by my arms again right after that Attack.
I did not move, knowing that I am 1. Unable to defend myself Nor “win” her in a man fight 2. Do not want to be in trouble by hitting her back.
So I did nothing. I just stared at her in shock. I could feel pain and blood on my face. Her friends immediately tried to restrain her and my friends came to surround me after realising what happened since it all happened so fast. She lunged at all the girls around me, and taunted my sister’s Boyfriend. She left scratches on another girl and pushed another one off balance.
I went to the bouncer- my Friend managed to locate the woman, got choked by her in the process. Police was involved. She was LAUGHING and smiling, eyeing me from a distance, thinking about what a loser I am and how she’s gonna just walk away.
However as y’all know just how unfair the world is. I am unable to pursue this incident because I know these are “superficial” wounds that don’t warrant much of a case. And my dad ain’t bill gates.
So I can only avoid the mirrors now, and just cry to myself silently. And for my friends, you guys know I do events and my “appearance” is my rice bowl, my livelihood.
Just want to let u girls know, please look out for each other and be very careful, “do nothing also can kena if u are suay”
So yes. She’s probably going to walk away free from charges because her victim is unable to afford it. And she will do it to someone else again.
I abided the law yes, I did nothing wrong yes. But what good is there in being right if you need to pay to reinforce it?
Mine is a trivial case compared to those who murdered, raped, bullied, cheated those weaker than them.. and most being able to just.. get away. Not even a sorry. Not even remorse.
Please feel free to share the post. This is the sad reality of life.
This is a pavement at Ang Mo Kio Ave 4. A pavement along the carpark where everyone is passing by everyday. Could cause injury to anyone like eldery, children or pets like dogs and cats to get serious infection. These rusty nails are protruding outwards.
As promised on 21st August, (as spoken and as shown in the WhatsApp) the person in charge will get his worker or himself to look into this even it’s public holiday, 22nd August. But today, after public holiday. The nails are all still intact. No one has turn up to rectify the issue.
If you guys go to a mamak stall, When you finish roti canai, get in the bathroom and wash your hands!
Inadvertently, it was found that there was an empty room next to the toilet and that empty door was half open, and there was an uncle who was busy with his feet on the flour.
I want to make a complaint. This evening around 10.15pm, i went to Giant supermarket to get a good view of the fridge shelves and guess what? Too many packs of yakult available.
Ask the staff and they just told me, buy all lor. Extremely disappointed that a Giant supermarket store can be filled up with yakult.
I rather look at fridges from other sources from now on.
Made a Police report someone posted this..and accuse me of breaking into his home at Sengkang and gave me 24hrs to admit? This is serious because he claim that I left my HP behind when I was all awhile home?
When I PM him he did not answer? Also my reputation is involved.
As you can see I immediately made a Police report. This is not funny now Police going to investigate on your house breaking. If this a prank it just gotten serious.
Those of you have received this prank report immediately to police..Stay vigilant to all my Fb fans.
