LOGISTICS COMPANY DIRECTOR GETS 40 MONTHS IMPRISONMENT AND A FINE OF $8.7M FOR DEALING AND STORING FOR DUTY UNPAID CIGGIES!

A logistics company director, Iskandar Bin Abu Bakar, 44, was sentenced by the State Courts on 15 January 2018 to 40 months’ imprisonment and a fine of $8.7 million, or in default 20 months’ imprisonment, for dealing with and storing of duty-unpaid cigarettes.

Iskandar was previously sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment on 23 June 2008 for dealing with 500 cartons of duty-unpaid cigarettes. As a repeat offender, he is liable to an enhanced punishment under the Customs Act, which includes a mandatory jail term of up to six years, as well as a heavier fine of no less than 30 times the duty or Goods and Services Tax evaded.

Iskandar was arrested on 6 July 2017 when Singapore Customs officers conducted an operation at the Changi Airfreight Centre (CAC). The officers inspected a consignment of two wooden crates, declared as “machinery parts and accessories”, that were supposed to be sent to Iskandar’s logistics company. The officers uncovered a total of 3,050 cartons of duty-unpaid cigarettes in the two wooden crates. Iskandar had intended to smuggle the duty-unpaid cigarettes in his car out from the CAC in multiple trips.

An Indonesian appear to hang from a HDB kitchen window unit from Hougang Street 51.

According to the source, the the maid jumped from the eight floor. The exact block was not indicated in the original post. Currently, it is unclear why the maid is out of the Window.

In the last 10 seconds of the video the maid fell.

10 business days for a refund…. it’s now been 18-21 business days depending on what you class as a public holiday over the xmas period, and I’m still waiting on a refund or at least some explanation on when I’ll receive it. I’ve used your online chat multiple times and emailed my case number and no reply.

When will I get my money back. It’s going on a month now!

Update: As of 11.30 am, both boys have yet to be found.

Our son, Javier has been missing from home since 3pm. He was last seen at Parkgreen condo with another classmate, Axel . Any one has any news of both boys please update me. They may be around Rivervale area. Please help to share. He is in black framed glasses and is in a blue top and the classmate is with him as well.

The one in glasses is Javier. And the one without glasses is Axel.

Latest update : He went out with his classmate to have a game of cards at the plaza and was may have been last seen there. I appreciate the help rendered but I would seek your kind understanding to not speculate on why is he not home as our family members and his other two elder siblings are all upset at this moment and are trying our best to locate him and his friend. Police report has been lodged.

And for ridiculous people who are asking why am I not showing concern by not posting his pictures on FB and stuff, thank you very much for your concern. I would like to clarify that I am not his biological mother and to prevent further misunderstandings with his mother, I do not often post his pictures online.

Charge $28 for buffet style steam boat, me and 4 of my friends ordered 2 rounds of meat, meat balls prawns and veggie (the portion for the 2nd round is significantly lesser and definitely not more than $28 per pax) when we tried to order the 3rd round (As we were getting full I just wanted to order 1 small portion of prawns and pork) and the boss started to be sarcastic, saying “just order whatever you want, because the next time you guys come again I gotta reject your business” thinking it was a joke, we tried to joke back saying “ok boss in future we will come once every few months is that Ok?”

Which he replied “no I am serious,don’t ever come. I can’t afford to lose, you guys eat way too much!” Come on? Open buffet style steamboat and you try to push customers away for ordering too much? I swear the amount we ordered is within the reasonable amount. And we did finished all the food before ordering. And he said if we are the boss can we afford to serve customers like us? I replied if you can’t afford to lose, set your buffet price higher. It was $28+ which I think is a middle range price for buffet. Which he replied “if I asked for $38 from you all will you guys pay?” Which we agreed right away.

And he start to to be sarcastic again saying “it’s ok just order since this is the last time i am going to accept you in my shop.” which made me so fed up that I decided to tear away the order sheet, and paid him $150 (for 5 pax) and asked him to keep the change.

No Attempted Kidnapping of Students from International Schools

The Police have thoroughly investigated into the cases reported on 11 and 16 January 2018, where it was reported that students from United World College of South East Asia and Tanglin Trust School had been at risk of being kidnapped near their respective schools. The Police have established that these two unrelated reports were not cases of attempted kidnapping. In both cases, the occupants of the vehicles were trying to be helpful by offering a lift to the students.

For the first case which happened on 11 Jan 2018, the male driver had offered a ride to the student from United World College of South East Asia as it was raining that day. The parent of the student had been updated on the findings, and they were relieved that it was a case of misunderstanding.

For the second case which was reported on 16 Jan 2018, a female bus attendant on a school bus from Tanglin Trust School noticed the student wearing the uniform of Tanglin Trust School walking towards the school. As the school bus was going to the school, the female bus attendant offered the student a ride. The school bus however did not bear the name or logo of the school. The student declined the offer as she had earlier read a school circular advising them to be wary of strangers offering rides to students. The Police has since clarified with the student that no persons had alighted from the school bus to persuade her to board it.

The media had reported another incident involving a student from Dulwich College (Singapore), which purportedly took place in December 2017. The Police have engaged the college to advise the student to make a police report so that we can investigate into the matter.

The Police treat such reports seriously. However, we urge members of the public not to speculate or spread unsubstantiated information which may generate unnecessary public alarm.

I seldom will post and rant on fellow taxi driver online. Pardon me if I sound offensive.

To the motherf**ker of this driver. Yes I call u motherf**ker la. At ecp towards town I signal to enter the overtaking lane. As usual these ppl will accelerate and try to force u don’t come in. But I went in infront of him. After I overtake I went back to my second lane. This motherf**ker is still on lane 1 hogging at about 70km per hr. it’s none of my business.

After about 1km I went into overtaking lane again since second lane there was a slower vehicle. this motherf**ker is at least 7 car length behind me at first lane and he keep high beam at me when he’s so far away. After I overtake I went back to second lane. This time round I slow down and wait for him to go ahead of me after in which I went behind him and high beam back at him.

U dare to provoke and when ppl retaliate u become one Chao ah gua. Using one hand to drive and keep on rotating ard ur camera to try and take video of me. Jio u come u also don’t dare look at me. Keep on rotating ur camera while not looking at the road. No wonder ur pax need to hold on to the handle when u drive. If ur in this group and see this. I tell u gals got more guts den u. U simply motherf**ker and Chao ah gua. Come la. It’s me!!

I remember when I graduiated from my PSLE way back in 1969, my form teacher signed and written in my book of autograph “PERSEVERANCE IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS” and I remember until today. Cheers
