LJ LORRY SUDDENLY CHANGE LANE AT JUNCTION NEARLY CAUSED ACCIDENT

Earlier today near Burlington Square(beside Sim Lim), we were on an Uber going towards AYE. While approaching the junction. This CB lorry suddenly decided to change lane probably because he more lost than Robinson Crusoe.

Luckily, our driver alert enough, we were less than 50cm away from knocking into this douche.

CAT STUCK IN CONTAINER, LUCKY GOT PEOPLE CALL AND ASK FOR HELP

CAT WITH HEAD STUCK IN A CONTAINER

On 11 December at about 10 pm, we received a call on our 24-hour hotline 6287 5355 ext 9, alerting us to a cat with its head stuck in a plastic container. The cat was in distress and ran away when we attempted to approach it.

As this rescue mission required more resources, we activated two rescue officers and brought along additional rescue equipment.

In the meantime, the caller kept an eye out for the cat while our rescue officers made their way over to Eunos Road.

The local ginger, male cat was, after much patience, eventually caught with a net. He was then brought back to the SPCA and examined by our vet.

His right front paw was found to have sustained a superficial wound, most likely from trying to remove the container. Otherwise, the cat was fine.

We took the opportunity to sterilise and microchip the cat and after observation, he will be released back to the community.

We thank Linda for looking out for this community cat and for watching over him, while our rescue officers made their way over.

We all can play a part in making a difference for our community animals. Here’s how you can help an animal if you come across one that is injured, sick or lost :

1. Call us as soon as possible on our 24-hour hotline 6287 5355 ext 9 and provide details such as :
– the condition of the animal,
– address of the location,
– your name and
– your contact number.

We will despatch our animal rescue officer to your location as soon as possible.

2. Help by bringing the animal to a safer location (e.g. away from traffic, off a crowded area) and confine it (in a box or carrier etc). If you are unable to do so, try to stay and keep an eye out for the animal until our officer’s arrival as many times when our officer reaches the location, the animal is nowhere to be found.

We appreciate your assistance.

FORMER POLICE NSF RESPONSE TO CLAIMS OF NETIZEN IN RECENT BROTHEL RAID

Hi Admin, i hope you will publish my letter to offer an alternative perspective to the increasingly ridiculous social justice warrior blindly championing human rights! (This is in response to Vanessa Ho’s criticism of the police raid on unlicensed brothel operating in my estate)

OUR POLICE, THE SEX WORKER BULLY?

“This is what your taxpayers money are put to: groups of armed men terrorizing women”.

As a former police NSF and resident of the affected neighbourhood, I felt an obligation to call out Vanessa Ho’s biased criticism against the police for conducting a raid on an unlicensed brothel. While it is the writer’s prerogative to champion the rights of sex workers, it reeks of sheer hypocrisy to harshly put down the police who were simply doing their job to protect the rights of the residents – the right to live safely from vice and shady influence.

Living in Jalan Besar for over 25 years, I have personally witnessed the effects of vice setting roots here. Discreet business in dimly lit shop-house evolved to blatant solicitation as children hang around at playgrounds. While some residents could turn a blind eye to the dark trade taking place within private confines, a sense of unease pervaded the neighbourhood when men of questionable background started loitering around to act as lookouts. By wearing masks to conduct the raids, the officers were protecting themselves from possible reprisals by men behind the business. Are police officers entitled to lesser rights to safety than the sex workers and residents whom they are protecting?

Throughout my 2-year NS stint with the police, I had experienced the challenges facing the police. Blames were laid out on the police when valuable were misplaced by negligent owners. Officers assumed the role of punching bag in attending to rowdy drunkards. Scratches and bruises were sustained when intervening in domestic disputes or effecting arrest. Fairly or unfairly, our police are often at the receiving end of shame and blame. But to go as far as Vanessa Ho did in making serious but unsubstantiated allegations against the officers – that officers patronised the illegal sex trade; firearm was pointed against an unarmed sexual worker – is doing a great disservice to justice which Vanessa herself claimed to be fighting for. Vanessa Ho had conveniently withdrawn her irresponsible post without posting any clarification on the accusations against the police. Would Vanessa Ho back up her comments with evidence, or offer an apology if they were untrue?

Damn if they do, damn if they don’t. The adage couldn’t be truer for our men in blue.

RUPEE @ ST JAMES FEEL VICTIMIZED AFTER PUBLIC ENTERTAINMENT LICENSE SUSPENDED

Management’s Response to Recent News:

1. We would like to state that we feel highly victimized and targeted. Being the smallest entertainment entity in the vicinity and operating on the concept of a highly niche but minority group of patrons who are interested in Bollywood entertainment and dance, it comes as a great surprise to be accused that Rupee St James is a place of assignment where immoral activities are communicated as such communication can occur anywhere including common areas.

2. The management does not condone such actions and does not provide vice services originating from the club. Should an individual employee have been discovered to have engaged in illicit activity after working hours, it is beyond our knowledge and any action the individual has committed has been at their sole discretion without our consent or knowledge.

3. The investigation is currently ongoing and not concluded. However whilst investigations are still ongoing the matter remains only an allegation. The club is intent on resuming its operations in the nearest future upon approval.

4. The club does not run on the alleged business model of providing vice services to clients. If indeed this was the case, we would not be hiring qualified performing artists who are highly qualified and experienced in traditional Bollywood Dance.

5. All performing artists and management of the club were holding valid working permits and passes. There were no illegal employees engaged by the club.

GRAB PASSENGER BOOKED CAB FOR & REALISE “OH YA CAR WONT FIT 5 PAX”

Grab riders are really a bunch of funny people. Booked JG. Reached and saw 5pax. 1 child less than 3 yrs old, 1 kid around 4-7 yrs old and 3 adults.

They stop my vehicle so i told them i cannot fetch cos there are 5 of them and somemore got children.

The most funny part is that the woman carrying that child said she is a baby not counted as 1pax. Shake my head, told them they’re wasting my time and drove off.
