ANG MOH THAT CLAIM PAYING BRIBE MAY BE IN LEGAL TROUBLE

The security firm that got caught in the middle of the scandal where an Ang Moh claimed that he managed to get into the Marina Bay F1 Circuit in the middle of the night by bribing a security guard, have come out and stated that they are seeking legal advice over the false claim.

The company, Security and Risk Solutions, have told the media that the false claims have severe repercussions for his company, as they put the reputation of the company at stake, and it also puts the security industry in bad light. The company has since conducted their own investigations and interviewed all its officers on duty at the time of the alleged incident, and was satisfied that none of its officers had accepted any form of bribery, and there was also no truth in claims that security guard helped take photos of the couple.

Facebook user Viv Smith posted a photo in a closed Formula 1 interest group on Sunday, showing a couple standing on the race track. The post read: “3am in the morning. Bribed the security guard to let us onto the track. He not only agreed, he took the photo. Non F1 fans won’t understand this, but most of us will.” Smith later retracted his claims, saying there was “no bribery, no corruption, no nothing”. The couple was on the track when the gates were open, and had merely asked the guard to help take a photo of them, he wrote.

Investigations by the Singapore GP on the alleged incident are still ongoing.

VIETNAM FT WORKING AS DEALER IN MBS SAYS SG MEN ARE POOR

A netizen has shared his unhappiness with a female Vietnamese foreign talent who is working in Marina Bay Sands Casino as a dealer.

According to the netizen, he got to know this foreign girl outside the casino during a break as she seemed nice at first.

However, after getting to know her, he realized that she looks down upon Singaporean men like him. She even told him straight in the face that she did not expect him to be “so poor” as he “looked rich”.

She also bragged that her salary (between $4,500 and $4,800 a month) is much higher than most locals and because of that, she has free and easy access all around Singapore. She also claims she enjoys the high life with her white boyfriends, who don’t complain about life so much unlike Singaporeans who do nothing but complain.

The netizen also shared that he and his friends get by with driving for Uber or doing food deliveries. Many of them hold up to 4 side jobs and cannot even match up to her pay.

He wrote: “The last straw came when she broke up with her white BF she started bragging and posting these online. I have since blocked her but Singaporeans ought to know that Locals are really treated like shit here and we get kicked around bullied even by foreigners. Our Orchard and CBD areas are filth invested with rich people partying and having wild parties every night where some streets are even authorized to be roadblocked for parties. The kind of foreigners we attract will really suck us dry and government will never give a f***.”

“We have the type like the couple who bullied our own uncle kopitiam those are the types who suck the lifeblood from Singapore by earning a lot and stingy on giving back. We also have these gold digger types who is more than willing to destroy families, and the crazy types who mess up Singapore in every single way possible.”

The company said in their Facebook post that while the the curved utility blade was not banned for sale in Singapore, it has decided to “take a conservative move” in asking the merchant involved to cease the sale of the knife at its Bedok Mall and Tampines 1 outlets. The spokesperson said that this was not a spur of the moment decision, and the move to pull the knives out of the shelves was done after much deliberation.

Hako said it is careful not to allow merchants to sell prohibited items, and in this case, the merchant had exercised due diligence by writing to the police before importing them. Hako said the merchant in question had imported the karambit to sell to cos-players. While they will no longer be available, Hako said that the “sale of other sharp items like penknives, scissors and everyday use products will still continue”.

What do you guys think?

DOES JOBSBANK.GOV WORK? GUYS SENDS IN 60 APPLICATIONS. GOT ZERO REPLY.

I wrote a feedback on 21 September 2017 to WSG careers regarding the jobsbank.gov website as I got fed up with the lack of response from my job applications.

To date for about past 8 months and beyond, I have sent in about more than 60 job applications on the jobsbank.gov website alone. Jobs that are relevant to my education level, skill sets and experience. But looking at my application status now, so many of the ads to which I responded seem to be coming across as not being genuine. If there are any Singaporeans out there who are having similar experience as me with regard to their job applications through jobsbank.gov, I encourage you to come forward. If the jobsbank.gov site is just a wayang and waste of tax payer money, it must be exposed, disposed and replaced! My feedback was written as follows

Dear Sir/Madam,

Possible Dubious/Fake Job Ads on Jobsbank

Employers or agencies advertising job vacancies on jobsbank.gov.sg, need to be advised to update candidates’ application status.

Based on my own record of job applications, some of the ads seem to be dubious as there is no update on the application status even after ONE YEAR or even after the closing date stated on the ad page had passed. There are 4 types of of a job application status as categorised in the Jobsbank website:

1. Received
2. Under Review
3. Successful
4. Unsuccessful

As per my own application records, there is a large majority that shows to have NOT PASSED the “Received” status which leads me to surmise that the respective advertiser is not even reading my application (CV/Resume).

If there is a possibility that certain job ads are being posted on jobsbank just to make up numbers or reflect false figures on local job vacancies, the team managing the jobsbank site should look into tackling it immediately. Else this is just another waste of government resources. Leaning on the assumption that the veracity of a government-related agency is unquestionable, the team assigned to manage the site should also post statistics on the applications. Namely, job application success rates and other information to promote the integrity and validity of the website. In other words, we need to see tangible Continuous Improvement on this avenue provided by the government for Singaporean jobseekers.

Thanks and best regards
