i am with my mother and we were queuing at the counter at Supermarket. When its our turn realised that the papaya was not weight so told the counter cashier to scan first and I will walk back with the scan price very fast.
One or two minutes back saw this lady pushing the basket and starting to scan infront of my mother. She just push the basket at the left hand and then looked at her and said she should have moved. She cannot moved she is on a wheelchair.
After the cashier finished, the husband came and asked me to moved as they still have more. I asked them to pay finished this basket or queue behind me as the other counters were empty or go to the empty counter as they had already cut queue and they can just paid separately.
this rude guy started to scold me many many times stupid moron. . so I flare up. the wife injured my mother never apologised. They could moved her wheelchair back instead of banging through when there is no space to moved out. then the husbang repeatedly called me a stupid moron in a public place with so many people looking.
Not ashamed you cut queue of a handicapped person , banged her and then scold her caregiver stupid moron. I dont know which company has recruited them in singapore and then they called me xenophobia. They are inhuman for bullying handicapped people . Why do they keep bullying my mum.
i was disappointed with supermarket for the whole episode. If they cannot wait for the papaya to be weight can tell me i could buy another day. They should push my mum back instead of allowing another person to bang her and why do they do it???? why this uneducated person come to singapore????
This is not Xenophobic this is standing up for myself and my mother. No one can bully my mum and me.
.
No one should called themselves human after they bully handicapped person.
I never know calling people stupid moron is being nice. This is really educational. We have no better people to work here to need bully of elderly handicapped person give me a break
The principle of Xinmin Primary School has confirmed the identity of the man in the video is a teacher from the school. It has been reported that he is a ‘new teacher’.
“The safety of our students is of top priority,” said Mr Lee. “The case is under police investigation and the teacher is currently on leave.” said the principle.
The video went viral shortly after a man was seen placing a camera on top of his bag and swinging towards a lady wearing a skirt. The incident happened on Circle Line from Macpherson MRT station to Paya Lebar MRT Station.

People who purchase and drink starbucks coffee are either financially retarded or are ignorant, act atas people. Why would you pay $6 for coffee is just beyond me. Their cost to produce a cup of this fools’ coffee is below $1 and ignorant fools are paying like $5 for it? Is it for the branding? For that name that the barista writes on your cup? Or for the gram?
Especially when you’re maybe earning only like 1k a month average during your university days, even if you’re loaded, it’s still just financially irresponsible. I know some of you atas wannabes will comment that it’s your choice and it’s your money, you can do whatever you want with it. I do not disagree, this however, is also my opinion and i’m just humbly sharing it.
These wannabe people are, as i’ve observed, mostly girls who like to hang at starbucks branches for hours and posting instagram pictures of every drink that they purchase, complete with a quote or a phrase about how you are so deserving of this but really, this just sounds extremely narcissistic and ignorant. These are the same girls who have complaints about having no money at the end of the day because they need to get their ‘coffee fix’. A cup of starbucks coffee is worth an excess of a 2 vegetable, 2 meat cai png, or even a cheap meal at macdonalds.
A full meal vs a drink you can’t usually finish (iced), just think about that for a moment. So, don’t ever date a person who frequents a ‘starbucks fix’, chances are, they’re probably extremely superficial, or are just plain retarded and ignorant. You will NOT enjoy dating these fools. Of course, to these fools, feel free to defend and justify your starbucks lifestyle, but for most of us (i hope), we’re just lucky enough to be a little smarter than you.
2 BOYS FISHING BY ESPLANADE AND MANAGED TO CATCH SOMETHING
2 young man managed were caught by netizens fishing by the Esplanade. Initially, they used a fish the size of an index finger as bait to catch the fish. After managing to catch a fish the size of an adults forearm. The bigger fish became bait to catch a bigger fish.
A group of youngsters were arrested. 4 of them ranging from 14 to 16-year-old wore a black mask at Bishan Street 12.
The arrested happened on Sunday, 12.55am.
Police arrived on the scene after someone alerted the authorities. According to media reports, the 4 youngsters had a robbery plan but later gave up robbing. It is unclear why the four gave up robbing but thank god they did.
The police are currently investigating the incident. If the robbery did happen, they can face a jail term of up to 14 years.
I have personally encountered a similar incident. One of my then-friend who got into NUS med mocked me for I’m a double reject simply because I am a life science student (double reject – med reject and pharm reject).
Tbh, people think that nus med students are the elitists, the superiors. That’s not true. They are superior not because they act like one, but because we make them one. Exactly because we are always inferior in front of them, their ego get boosted to a new high in life, thus superiority/elitism.
If we don’t feel inferior in front of them, they are superior to no one. Till now, I still remember her face when I told her this, “Erm, not everyone wants to be in med/pharm. I have my passion and I am living it. I hope med is truly your passion rather than just a tool.”
Dear life science students, doctors can’t save lives without any available cure/treatment, even if they successfully diagnose the patients, and we, we are truly the unsung heroes.
So, be inferior to no one if you know you are living the life you want. So what if the general public do not regard your course as an elite course. To me, life science is my elite course.
Was in Zouk yesterday and halfway through the night, this random girl who was holding 2 drinks appeared out of nowhere and passed them to me so she could text her friends to find them. Being a nice guy, I didn’t mind it at all even though she really took quite awhile although I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that part of the reason why I didn’t mind was cos’ she looked cute.
So, I contemplated asking for her number in exchange just to flirt with her (I didn’t really mean to get her number) but quickly scrapped the idea cos’ I didn’t want to appear like a despo freak.
I do however, wish I had initiated a convo with her and now I’m bummed out by the lost opportunity that I might never see her again…unless she’s in NUS as well.
After this tragic accident, it is perhaps the best time to call out what I feel is an ill-advised practice by the government e-bidding system, GeBIZ.
The Government Electronic Business (GeBIZ) portal is an online platform where contractors log on to source and bid for potential government contracts of any kind.
Given the hundreds of daily requests for quotations by government agencies, it is a great business development platform. Except for one key feature not many know about: After the quotation is awarded, GeBIZ posts the prices of all the bids entered, for all and sundry to peruse. It also reveals the winning bid made by the selected contractor.
This is probably done with good intentions: market transparency and promoting competitiveness. But the side effect is a race to the bottom. If you are a hungry contractor and have lost the bid, you now know what a winning price looks like. For a similar future job, you know what price you need to enter to potentially win it. And it would likely be lower than the previous winning price.
Of course, government agencies usually don’t write RFQs based on a 100% price consideration. Most adopt a price-quality matrix, balancing the bidders’ track record with the price tendered. Yet, lowest bids overwhelmingly win the job.
How do I know this? I am a contractor and have done this countless times over the past seven years. My winning bids have consistently fallen over the years. The irony is that as my experience and quality climb (together with my cost), my rates and profit fall.
The picture below illustrates this terrible trend. The winning bid is the lowest one, and HALF the highest price.
What do you do to secure profit margin in this case? You cut corners. You do things the expedient way. Then to move on from your paltry profit, you take on more and more jobs — each one lower-paying than the one before.
I’m not asserting that the government should or should not choose the lowest bid. It should just not publicly announce to vendors what these are.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions. GeBIZ needs to re-think theirs.
