This happened to me near Yishun Mrt station, outside S11.
I was walking home this evening at about 6.30pm when this guy came from behind suddenly and brushed his hands against my butt. I confronted him about it but instead of apologising, he immediately took out a card and claimed to be visually impaired on his left eye.
I was not able to see the card clearly as he was waving it. (If it was accidental then he could have just apologised for knocking into me but he didnt do so and even pretended it didnt happen)
He then went on and asked me to bring him to the police station if i can. When i said that i will call the police he started giving excuses and said he needed to fetch his daughter. He started getting angry and walked away quickly when i asked him whether he did it on purpose and even called me stupid. After all that he claimed that he was not able to see on his right eye as well (like what???)
Recently there was murder by a weapon at Boon Tat Street.
Another incident has happened at a coffee shop. A man who appears to be in his 30s was seen wielding 2 knives. The man seems emotionally unstable and 3 man restraint him, while an elderly man is asking the man to put down the weapon.
They managed to restrain him. Stay tuned for more.
Increasingly and repeatedly frustrated the authorities are not fully on the same page when it comes to developing a holistic environment to live in here in Singapore.
Oh, It’s so easy to slap on big fines and pay a few thousand dollars for new signs. But what does it take for these bureaucrats to see that banning a totally wholesome and enriching activity like fishing, walking your pets dogs, cycling in all their publicly accessible waterways just drives more kids and adults away from beautiful outdoor opportunities in our natural environment?
Public Utilities Board #PUBsg in Singapore continues to ignore attempts to help them see that sustainable fishing not only is cleaner than the diesel watercrafts they or water skiers use, but beneficial. Fishing as a past time has the biggest potential to be one of the most highly participated sporting activity in Singapore as a licensed, self sustainable and Eco-friendly environment as proven in developed countries.
Licensing publically accessible waterways will also aid in community policing and safety, and encourages accountability between participants as they share the environment.
There are absolutely no excuses for continuing in this archaic system of banning sports like fishing in all waterways, and paying lip service to the countless well-meaning advocates over the years, like with tiny 25m stretches of ‘a legal area’ to fish in each reservoir. It’s tantamount to blatant ignorance, or worse, a slap in their face.
Banning as a culture is counter-productive to a maturing society. How do we develop a sense of graciousness when we are governed by rules that are meant to stop an errant few from not picking up after themselves, may it be animal waste or fishing line. Authorities like #NParks and PUB still have a lot to convince the public that they are passionate and sincere in creating a truly encompassing and holistic society and not just a superficial show case in nature. To those who are given much, much is expected.
How many of us have warm memories of catching a fish with a parent or an friend during our childhood days?
Didn’t our old MM Lee Kuan Yew say in 1977 “”The Ministry of Environment should make it a target: In 10 years let us have fishing in the Singapore River and Kallang River. Can it be done,”? But what has been done??
Bukit Aman’s Special Tactical Intelligence Narcotics Group (Sting) arrested the suspects, including the Singaporean instigator, in searches at three places in Johor Baru.
The collection of drug seized is assessed to be worth RM6 million (S$1.9 million). Police likewise seized 140 guns and an explosive in the attacks
Chan Hao Shan, a 19-year-old Malaysian young lady, is set to be  the nation’s most youthful doctor when she graduates one year from now from Taylor’s University, a private college in Subang Jaya, Selangor.
The undergrad who is taking her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) said that her enthusiasm for medicine begun after her mom was had breast cancer when she was eight years of age
She stated: “I was interested about the human body and its capacities. For instance, what truly occurs in a man’s throat when he swallows something?”
To satiate her developing interest, she read broadly on the human body.
The splendid young lady at that point finished her Form 1 and 2 contemplates in two months and took an additional two months to finish her Form 3 considers and the GCE O-Level examinations.
She finished her whole auxiliary school training in a year.
Chan likewise included that she regularly felt uninterested by the moderate advance in classes, and completed whole course readings in only a couple of days.
Through this consideration, this unquestionably makes us ponder what we were doing at her age.
Being a motor rider myself I would urge all fellow rider not to park your motorbike out of the designated parking lots to avoid fine from the authorities. You wouldn’t know when and where would they appear at! As you can see in the picture all he has to do is to take a photo of your motorbike and lodge it for submission. This happened around late in the evening around 9 pm at Jurong area.
Foreigners here causing trouble should be penalized. They are seriously behaving like they own us. I’ve ever heard a PRC tell me, ” Your government invite us to come, who are you?”
WTF????? Seriously?
Yeah, but I let it be. He was sitting on the corner seats in the train, my mom who is not well came, he didn’t offer, so I asked, he spoke in PRC English and asked me why should he. So I told him this seat is reserved for elderly or those who are sick, and I asked politely.
But he chose to scold me instead for disturbing him as he was busy on his phone. So I obviously told him if he doesn’t want to give up the seat just say no, don’t need to get all aggressive. My only mistake was I told him this is not your country, we have our regulations here. Then he told me that. But an indian lady across tapped me on my shoulder and offered her seat to my mom instead.
I wonder before they are allowed in, were they given a compulsory run through of the regulations and laws here plus threaten with deportation if they commit any offense.
I made a call to the LTA at 759am today regarding illegal parking of many tour buses along Short Street! (See photo attached of my call log) Actually I call the LTA every morning regarding this issue because the buses always block the car park entrance of my building Golden Wall Centre! After 15 mins still no actions taken as all tour buses are still around! I then went to a nearby coffee shop for breakfast.
That was when I spotted a LTA officer sleeping under a shelter behind Blk 9 Selegie Road. (See photos attached time duration from 815-816am) after which I made another call at 816am reporting the same parking issues and at the same time the complain of the sleeping LTA officer. Guess what? The sleeping officer came within minutes to fulfill his suppose duties! Real suprise as this is the 1st time they reacted so fast!
Last time I call for immediate action from the LTA, they always reply that officer can only arrive 30-45 mins later. Now I know the real reason why is this so! The LTA are really wasting the tax payers money and also not providing their best service back to the society! This is a real disgrace to a FINE country like Singapore! This is a tourist area with Park Soverign Hotel and Village Hotel round the corner. What if tourists from other countries capture this scene instead of me?
