I reported my molest case with photos of the molester and details of the incident, but the police from bedok branch told me nine months later that they couldnt charge him because of old age and some other factors they couldnt disclose.
The police added that the molester had admitted to his crime. So what are the other factors that he couldnt share with me? Is this fair to the victim? What is it that the police cant tell me?
“Hi Stacy Lai, we note that the Investigation Officer had contacted you and updated on the case.”
Asp Ng said he would contact me again in a few weeks time. I hope spf will bring justice and set good example to those who have suffered the same as me.
Dear friends, please help to share my post around. In the hope that the culprits will be found.
Last friday I was involved in a mini accident. I was hailing for a cab along the road at around 11plus some distance away from a traffic lights. It was along the west coast viaduct highway opposite the west way building and in front of Haw Par Villa. Taxi Uncle saw me from a distance and began to turn to my side of the road.
He stopped within my reach and I proceed to open up the door, I was halfway into the backseat when I heard screeching sound and
BANG! There was a car that knock the bumper on the taxi. I was flung to the concrete floor on impact. The driver of the car came out and inspect the damages and the taxi Uncle was in the process of coming out… suddenly the car driver went back into the car and started his engine… at that point of time, taxi Uncle had just came out of his car and saw that the car driver is trying sped off.. Uncle immediately went back into the taxi and proceed to give chase… all these happens within spilt seconds..
There I was sitting on the floor.. with lacerations and blood on my knees and feet.. simply shocked and stunned to even notice the license numbers of both cars..
My body was aching and I was limping for days.. finally, today feet hurts the most and I had noticed.. feet was swollen.

A few weeks ago, I had attended a birthday party of my daughter’s friend. There they played a game, the age old ‘Passing the parcel’, however, what was different was the way it was played. The child who was caught with the parcel when the music stopped was asked to leave the circle, but with that parcel as the gift, and then a new parcel was introduced. The game continued till every child got a gift. I asked the mother what was wrong with the earlier version, the version we had all grown up with.
She said – “I do not like kids to be disappointed. See, here every child is happy as he or she gets to take a gift home.”
In another instance, I was in the park with my daughter. She was playing lock and key with her friends. Now, one of her friends fell down. Her mother, who was on the other side of the park ran to his son, all confused and upset. She scooped her son in her lap and started inquiring – “Are you hurt? Let me see! Do no cry! Shush, mama is here.”
The child, had a scraped knee, who was perfectly OK till then, started crying earnestly.
I was at a friend’s home for lunch. Her 5-year old daughter refused to eat what was cooked for lunch. My friends felt so guilty that her daughter would go hungry, that she cooked up her favourite pasta immediately. According to her, it was not the first time this had happened.
At the School Sports Day, there are no races, no competition. No first, second or runner ups. Because everyone is equal, there should be no competition between the kids.
Kids today have a room full of toys and games. Some they ask, some they do not. But, they still get them.
Everything in excess is the new mantra of life.
Our parents taught us self-reliance, while we hover around our children and want to protect them at all costs. We like to hold our babies closer to the protection of the nest. We go out of our way and rustle up something when they don’t eat what’s cooked at home for everyone else because we don’t them to sleep hungry. Instead of letting them play outside, we organize activities for them. We do their homework and their assignments. We even resolve their conflicts for them.
It makes me wonder, what will happen to these kids when they grow up?
Will they get a gift everytime they fail? Will they be able to handle disappointment? A child who has never been denied anything, how will he cope with rejections? There are a growing number of cases when kids run away from home or commit suicide because they are not able to deal with low marks in examinations or when they fail to secure an admission in an institution of their choice.
Will their parents keep them hidden in their bosom all their life? Our mothers never ran after us, a scraped knee was just that. She would ask us to wash it with some water and then forget about it. But, there was no drama that followed.
Falling and hurting was a part of daily life for us. We cycled, climbed up trees and jumped from the stairs. Today, kids travel in elevators and escalators (because they might fall down the stairs and get themselves hurt). Earlier, kids walked and cycled. I hardly see kids walking nowadays unless it’s a kids’ marathon and they are required to pose for selfies with their cool mommies.
Will they shy away from competition or be able to survive it? OK, so we can accompany our kids till the college gate and sit in the waiting area while they appear for a job interview.
A child who is never used to losing – how will he survive in the big bad world?
We are raising our kids to be adult babies.
So what should we do?
Stop telling our children that they are special all the time. They are not, at least not always. So reserve the praises for the times when they actually deserve.
Stop going out of the way to create happiness in their life. The life is a mix of joys and sorrows, and it is for a reason. We have no right to interfere with nature. So let’s stop pretending that everything is all right when it’s not. Let the kids have their fair share of disappointments at an early age. It’s better to fall at 10, than at 40 !!

It sickens us to the core to see not one but three chained dogs on the ground floor of this factory. This young boy in the video is only 1 year old and was given up by the owner to the management of this factory. What was the owner thinking when he put his dog here? To lessen his guilt???? That he found this boy two good friends and reduced him to a chained dog along with two other dogs that have suffered years of being tethered in the same spot.
When we met this young dog, he was trembling with fear and he came to us for comfort. It was so heart breaking to see an innocent life being discarded like a piece of junk and sentenced to a life of imprisonment. The owner is a tenant in this factory. Imagine driving off every day looking at this fur kid who used to think that he had a home and a family.
We are so sick of this group of people. As much as we want to help these dogs particularly this young one from wasting his life away, we do not have any contacts for Fosterer or adopter. We do not wish to put him in a shelter as it’s really not a conducive environment for such a friendly fur kid. Can we please SHARE to find him a good home? If we can’t help this boy we are too discouraged to continue with what we are doing. Please help us to find him a good home.

I have a serious issue to report with regard to the Uber trip I took today, 3rd July 2017 at 6.04pm.
The trip was from 67 temple street with destination at parkway parade. My sisters and I however did not arrive at parkway parade as our destination. We alighted at Tanjong Katong road right after a highway.
The Uber driver car plate number 4471 is infested with ticks. It was when my 6 months pregnant Sister started scratching both her arms, legs and back, upon realising many different bumps all over her body we looked around the car and realised the entire back seat, front passenger seat were all covered with very tiny ticks and quite many huge ones . The entire car was infested , even our belongings in the car boot were filled with ticks, it seems that the driver was already aware of it yet kept silent. The extent was so shocking we did not manage to take a picture, but took the aftermath (as attached). Kindly note that my 9 month old nephew was in the car with us, along with my 6months pregnant sister.
Once we requested to alight at the nearest possible location, all his reply was “oh highway cannot drop”. Hence, we dropped at the bus stop of Tanjong Katong South Road, opposite One Amber.
Once alighted we checked through and had to kill many ticks off our belongings and those in our hair. It was such a horrifying experience we cancelled our dinner with our 75 year old Grandmother and mother’s birthday celebration to look for the nearest toilet to take a shower in a public place and spending unnecessary money on new clothes and toiletries.
Our 9 months old baby was crying and choking for a very long time as all of us had ticks on our clothes and hair we couldn’t carry him.
Ticks are known to carry diseases and are passed on when they bite. Have a look at my pregnant sister’s markings all over her hands, arms and legs. We went to her gynecologist for a check up. Drugs were prescribed, but due to pregnancy she could only apply steroids to ease the itch. MCs given for days to recover as well, medical bills are incurred.
This has been a very very upsetting experience for us all.
We also quickly called to inform uber and asked if the driver is still on the streets but their response was that it’s a privacy issue and they can’t disclose. Their responses were slow and evasive.
Hence, we are unsure if the driver is still out there driving and causing distress to other passengers as he did to us. We are still suffering from the incident and have found even more bites on our bodies. We had even thrown away the clothes we wore on that day for fear that the ticks might follow us home. The lack of concern and compensation is utterly shocking.
Grab. Please ban or take strict disciplinary action on this Grab driver. He has serious attitude problem & no standard at all. I have took mutiple Grab rides .Be it Grabcar/Just Grab /Grab taxi or GrabHitch. But this is by far the worst driver that i have ever met. He can just shout at you, scold you.slump ur line halfway while cm’s talking & refused to take your call when you call back.
Plane you big time when he did not even bother to come find me.when I given him clear instructions on how to come to my location.
Here goes:
I called for Grab on that fateful day 1/7/17
(2.14 pm) when I was in a hurry to rush back to office after my Lunch at Amoy food center. It was a sunny day with the afternoon heat blazing down. He called me after abt 5 mins after i booked.Told him I was waiting in front of Amoy food center’s motocycle lot area. But he started shouting that he was already waiting at the temple side.
I told him nicely to go straight n turn right into Telok Ayer St .as it is quite far & hot for me to walk to the other side where de Siang cho keong temple is.(its a L shape layout). He kinda like curse n swear n shouted unwillingly that he drive over. while requesting me to walk to de junction (which i believe is de intetsection of Mccallum & Telok Ayer st. When I reached the juntion pt under de hot sun abt a min later with sweat dripping n hands filled with packets of tabaos(He is still on de line).
I informed him that I reached n still no sight of him.He started shouting again at me at this point. demanding why I walked to the Junction.n he already come looking for me(If He come along my way.
I would definately see his car as there is not a lot of cars at tat x.n my eyes is glued to tat small road looking out for him!) I finally snapped at this pt.rising my voice back. telling him to stop shouting at me n its he who is the one that asked me to walk to the junction pt.Why is he blaming me again?Helooo. I am the customer after all right? He cut my line straight. After standing there for like a few more mins looking out for him.I called him back. NO ANSWER.Thats when I know I m being plane.
As I m in a hurry to go back to work (which because of him . I m already late back to work) I had to flag a SMRT taxi which I have to pay 5 bucks cash. when in actual fact. I still have the $8 Grab promo code to use but due to his selfish act of not wanting to cancel his ride with me at that pt.I m unable to book another Grab ride.(I already saw him moving further n further away fm de the booking place)
He only cancelled the ride after a good half hr later when he encertain that I will not be cancelling. I will not cancel as I will not want to pay for Grab cancellation fees when it is clearly not my fault.
I will rather give it to that efficent SMRT driver that pick me up at that critical moment !
This driver’s attitude & behaviour has certainly pull you down ,Grab. You should really consider if you should have this type of driver on board your team. This experience have definitely scarred me.
FYI. I have top up for your past 3 weeks promo but not this week’s due to this very unpleasant experience.
Not on my regular list of joints, nasty experience with Popeye burger joint on level 4. Care to explain why the counter staff uses the “F” word to a paying customer who is polite? A young staff took my order, busy making small talk and gossiping with a female co-worker about a girl named “Kimmie” who was walking past behind me.
Didn’t focus on my request, entered the wrong price for order. I pointed out his mistake and he told me to “SHUT” up. I told him that was rude. He didn’t serve me the order or correct the payment. Went into a small room left side and started swearing. How do you explain that? And oh, don’t expect me or my family to be back there anytime soon!
