The legend of Pontianak, the ghostly spirits that reside in Banana trees has been a story passed down through the ages. We often heard from elders not to disturb the Banana tree.
Jacob Lee 34-years-old, A Singapore self-proclaimed ghost hunter decided to test the system and tried if he can use the ‘powers of the spirit’ to help him win the lottery.
According to stories, one must use a needle and poke it into the tree and tie it with a red string and the other end of the string should be tied to the legs of a bed. Jacob tied it to himself and went to sleep instead to the legs of a bed. The story happened near Murai Farm way, nearby Lim Chu Kang Cemetry. Jacob believes that the area near the cemetery has more ‘yin qi’. Or ghostly auras in the area. Which will make him easier to invoke the Potinak from the banana tree.
He brought a sleeping bag and did the red string ritual. He eventually went to sleep with the red string tied to his toe and sleep. He dreamt of a woman who tickled his foot and whisper.
It is unclear if he ever won the lottery but one thing was certain. Jacob left the area with a wound similar with needles poking at his ear.
A netizen was surprised were visiting NTUC. He notices the fish had a red label stating “Live Boston Lobster”
From what I see the fish that inside don’t look like a lobster neither does it looks ‘live’.

A girl who thought it would be a right notion to slot a doll’s eye into her own eye socket has thus regret it. It not only looks extremely painful on top of the face you wouldn’t be able see out of it.
As the doll’s eye is supposedly larger than her eyelid can grip , it resulted her to be in a lot of pain. Fortunately the toy eye came out with a bit of nudging and pushing.
However, Dr Jen Gunter spoke of the damaging side effects of this activity, explaining: “This is dangerous practice with real potential to harm.”

If this war between taxi n UG..at the end.. taxi driver got more disadvantage.
Cause UG fleet is highest in SG.
All will take
1) taxi over queue in taxi stand
2) taxi while waiting for pax, idling engine is on the way
3) taxi driver attire and personnal grooming – long hair dye hair..
4) taxi alighting n pick up at forbidden line like ziz Zac line
5) taxi driver smoke in car without passenger
Whereas
UG only need to take care of
1) proper attired – office wear or cover shoe
2) wherr they alight passenger only
3) smoke in car? No problem. Without passenger, it’s their private car. They can do whatever they wan.
4) they pay road tax, insurence, fuel, an most important, they pay car loan.
So what else will UG lose out if Taxi driver want to challenge.
So best, drive our own taxi. Cover 2 eyes. You scratch my back, I scratch yours.
At the end of the day, each go home with fair income and fair competition. All happy.

Comfortdelgro’s tactics of getting their cabbies to lodge private hire vehicle’s offenses are totally going to result in more damage than good. They didn’t grasp that this is going to result in a more undesirable influence to the drivers than benefitting them.
Yesterday in a comfort taxi instead of passenger safely the cab driver seem more interested in chasing motorists who are committing mistake. If they are turn off by the private hire causing them to getting their cabbies poached shouldn’t they just review with LTA over the policing activities?
With a smart move on launching their own booking app and later advertise that fixed fare doesn’t surge. Wouldn’t this affect the driver revenue because comfort cab driver would earn lesser during the surge period while Uber and grab driver earn more?
Shouldn’t Comfort instead of coming up with strange idea try to innovate by observing market trend and the reason Uber and grab surge and stay competitively in term of their taxi rental.

At about 4.30pm yesterday, an extremely concerned PD volunteer came to the SAFE booth for help.
A mum from Malaysia came to #PinkDot2017 to look for resources and support.
Unfortunately, due to the new park rules, she wasn’t allowed into the park.

As the SAFE ladies weren’t at the booth, I went out with the PD volunteer to meet the 妈妈。
We stood outside the HLP Community Centre.
There were tears. She was heartbroken that life will not be easy for her daughter and wanted to know what she can do to support her.
Took down her number, and arranged for Joo Hymn of SAFE to call her.
She told me that her daughter’s coming to Singapore next week and so I invited them to visit the Pelangi Pride Centre library.
Encouraged her to walk the perimeters of HLP and to send selfies of herself at Pink Dot 2017 to her daughter, so that she knows that her mum is supportive of her.
Kudos to the two PD volunteers who happened to be partners and who also shared with the 妈妈 their own coming out experience and how long they’ve been together.
May this be the beginning of the conversation for the 妈妈 and her daughter.
May they be well and happy.

In the past fisherman that caught puffer fish would simply throw it back into the sea. But nowadays the pufferfish has been prepared by unlicensed fish monger and disguised as crystal fish selling at a low price. About 20RM per kilogramme. Normally, white flesh fish are more expensive.
Consumption of small amounts of Pufferfish can lead to death and there is no antidote if such an accident occurred. Japan, in general, serves the puffer fish with a licensed chef that takes many years of training before they are ready to serve the fish.
But in Malaysia, the fish are prepared by foreign labour or in Singapore we love to use the phrase ‘foreign talent’.
