NETIZEN CLAIMS THAT MALAYSIANS GETTING PR AND EP PASS DESPITE BELOW THE SALARY CRITERIA!

Hi all,

I am not sure how long this scene of Malaysians getting special benefits from MOM (to get EP below the salary criteria) has been going on, but it has definitely been around for at least 3 years.

I know this because my Malaysian ex-colleague in my previous company, has been holding onto her EP (renewed before too) for 3 years despite drawing lesser than the required salary, as stated on MOM’s website.

When I first got into my previous company, the boss was certainly very confident that he would be able to get me the EP with just paying me $2400. Initially I doubted him, as that was not to my knowledge and it was not openly stated anywhere on MOM’s website about this. However, when the EP came, I checked the application form which my ex-boss has filed to MOM for my work visa, and he did not lie to MOM about the salary that he would pay me monthly. It was indeed reported to MOM as 2,400, and it was approved. It came as a surprise for me, but according to my ex-colleagues, who happen to be mostly Malaysians, it was the same for them.

I believe that this may not be applicable to other nationalities.. as the Indonesians in the very same company I have mentioned above had to be under S-Pass instead. I even tried checking the self assessment tool just like the user who opened this thread, and my qualifications warrants an EP and S-Pass, whereas an Indonesian with exact same qualifications would only be able to get a S-Pass only.

Hope that this helps to give a clearer insight… Sorry if I’m reviving an inactive thread, but thought I would just like to share this information. :) Anyway, peace out.

IT”S YOUR ABILITY NOT YOUR DEGREE THAT WILL STOP YOU FROM LANDING A GOOD PAYING JOB! AGREE??

It is unbecoming to see students from different faculties putting each other’s degrees down and trying to make themselves seem superior – because there is really no such thing as “elite faculties”. The notion of elite faculties arises when people think that being from a certain faculty will entitle them better-paying jobs, which is honestly untrue:

I have friends from FASS now working in FMCGs drawing a starting salary of 4.5k/month and engineers working in banks pulling in $7k/month. At the same time my peers from law are finding it extremely difficult to even secure internships, much less associate positions due to the glut of lawyers these days. So really, it will be your ability rather than your degree that will hinder you from landing a good paying job.

GUY FOUND A MYSTERIOUS AMULET IN HIS PILLOW WITH HIS PHOTO.

Long story short, woke up this morning to find an object in my pillow. It was a white small package, wrapped with multi coloured thread and sealed with a wax stamp that had a star on it.

Opening the whole thing up was tough. it felt like layers of adhesive paper one on top of the other. when i finally managed to open it up, i was horrified to find a green piece of paper with what seems to be arabic text written on it.

but the horrors don’t end there.

included in the package was a very recent photograph of me, and what frightens me the most is only three people including me have that photograph. The other two are close family members that have told me they have no idea what’s going on.

Circumstances dictate that there is no logical answer to this puzzling mystery. There have been answers ranging from a good luck/safety charm to someone girl trying to curse me.

What do i do? Do i dispose of it all? Do i keep it? thanks in advance for your help guys.

Edit : Thanks to someone at r/translator , it would seem that the note was some kind of a safety charm to ward off evil spirits written in arabic. So i’m relieved for myself at the moment.

In the meantime, i’m hoping to get some answers from a person at a mosque to find out who might’ve done this and why. As much as i’d like to think some loved one would’ve done this for me, my family is very pious when it comes to religion, so im doing my head in wonderng if they would actually have to turn to Islam for this?

But thank you all for your helpful(and hilarious) replied.

ZOO IN CHINA THROWN LIVE DONKEY TO BE FED TO THE TIGERS?!?!?

At a zoo in China, a live donkey was pushed into an enclosure with three tigers to be killed.

Recording taken by an observer at the park shows the petrified animal holding on before being pushed into a trench adjoining the big cat complex.

Donkey was then pounce on by a trio of predators.

Despite the recording been cut off while the animal is still active, it is stated that the donkey was slain. The last clip is of the donkey struggling back against the tigers in the water.

One person said: ‘I have no problems if it happens in nature, that’s how nature works, but in this case, it is just animal abuse.‘And no, it is not necessary for their health, this is just a bad excuse for the sick show.’

Another said: ‘A donkey dying to tigers in a natural habitat – natural. An alive donkey being thrown into a cage full of tigers – sadistic.

FT WOMAN SHOUT AND PUSH PASSENGER IN MRT. REFUSE TO GIVE SEAT TO ELDERLY

I wanted to highlight that even though the morning peak period commute can be stressful, passengers should not take the stress out on others.

This Filipino woman boarded the train and started shouting and shoving away people to get to the middle of the train. Even though the middle was already full, she pushed away people just so she could stand near the middle pole. This is very uncivilized behaviour.

Then she rushed to sit once a seat became available, even though there was an elderly gentleman behind her. All the time muttering about how people are stupid and can’t make way for her.

This kind of selfish behaviour is reprehensible. Public transport is a shared commuting tool, if you stand the crowded trains then don’t take it during peak period. Don’t make others as miserable as you are.

**PS I know people should move to the middle of the train and sometimes they don’t. But the train was already very packed. This woman started pushing people aside so they all siam her.

TOILET DOOR OPEN BY STAFF. AFTER BEING TOLD NON HANDICAP CANNOT USE HANDCAP TOILET!

Dear friends, appreciate if you can help to share this. According to IS Cleaning Services Pte Ltd, NON-HANDICAP PERSON HAS NO RIGHTS TO USE THE HANDICAP TOILET. Here is what had happened on 23 May to someone close to me:

She was in Compass One mall around 2pm when she had an urge to use the toilet. However she was alone pushing a stroller with her sleeping baby which was unable to fit in a normal toilet cubicle size and there were no family or child-friendly toilets, so she had no choice but to use the handicap toilet.

After entering less than 5 mins, she heard 2 men talking very loudly outside the toilet and suddenly knocked on the door. She immediately responded that she was using the toilet. But it appeared that the person who knocked on the door didn’t hear her response since he was conversing loudly with another man. The 2 men continued to conversed loudly while knocking another 2 more times. Again, she responded to the knocks.

Suddenly the door was flipped opened widely while she was still in the midst of using the toilet and she saw a male cleaner with his male supervisor. The supervisor immediately stepped aside but the cleaner just stared blankly at her. The woman was totally shocked and embarrassed but regained her composture after a while and told the cleaner to quickly close the door, which he only did so after hearing her. During the time when the door was opened, there had been a passerby who walked passed and saw the woman in the toilet without her bottoms.

The poor woman immediately dressed up and got out of the toilet. The 2 men were still standing outside. She asked them why did they opened the door when she was still inside. They said that sometimes there are naughty children who played with the door. The woman demanded to see the mall management and wanted to make a complaint. The supervisor just pointed her to the direction of the mall reception. As the woman turned around and walked towards the reception, she heard the supervisor commenting loudly to the cleaner, “handicap toilet is only for handicap people, non-handicap people cannot use!”

Thereafter, there was a meeting with the mall centre manager and the management of the cleaning company. The centre manager suggest the cleaning company to look into this and settle the issue. The cleaning company requested for time to investigate and promised to give the woman an official letter. However, the letter came late, 1 week after the promised date.

The worst part is the content of the letter where the cleaner denied hearing any reponse from the woman when the cleaner knock on the door (since the cleaner and supervisor are chatting loudly to each other outside the toilet and cannot hear anything).

Secondly, in the letter, they mentioned the poor woman has NO RIGHTS to use the handicap toilet.

Anyway, a police report had been made. The letter from the cleaning company is also attached in this post.

Am sharing this unjust treatment of a poor mother to raise people’s awareness, especially mothers with strollers and babies who need to use the handicap toilets, that cleaners have keys to open the doors. Use the handicap toilet at your own risk.
