So today I was supposed to be in the office until 6pm, but my boss cancelled our late afternoon meeting last minute, so I reached home around 2:30pm. Walked in quietly because I thought my husband (M34) was working from home and having a call.
I went up to the master bedroom. The door wasn’t locked, just pushed to. I opened it to drop my laptop bag and I swear my heart literally stopped.
My husband and our helper (F28, been with us for 1.5 years) were BOTH stark naked on our bed.
The moment I screamed, total chaos erupted. But here is the insane part: instead of apologizing or hiding in shame, both of them immediately started screaming and blaming each other while scrambling for their clothes.
- Husband’s story: He’s shouting at her to get out, saying she “seduced” him while bringing in the folded laundry, came on to him, and he “couldn’t stop her” (like bro, you are a whole 80kg grown man, what do you mean you couldn’t stop her???).
- Helper’s story: She’s crying hysterically, clutching her shirt, saying he threatened to terminate her contract and send her back to her country if she didn’t lie down with him, and that he forced her.
Now my husband is swearing on his parents’ lives that she initiated it and tried to blackmail him, while she is sobbing in her room saying she is the victim and he forced himself on her.
I am completely lost, disgusted, and traumatized. My bed, my own home, ruined in one afternoon.
If she was forced, this is a serious criminal case and police need to be involved. But if they were both in on it and now just trying to save their own skins because they got caught red-handed, I don’t even know.
Do I call the police straight away? Do I call her employment agency first? I’ve already told my husband to pack his bags and get out of the house, but he’s refusing to leave, saying we need to “clear his name” first.
My head is spinning. Any advice on the proper protocol/legal steps in SG for this kind of nightmare scenario? Please help.
