Throwaway account for obvious reasons.
So this happened last Friday night around 10:30 PM. I went down to the function room at my condo to collect a huge Taobao parcel that the delivery uncle accidentally dumped at the clubhouse area instead of my block lobby.
The function room lights were completely switched off, but as I walked past the glass doors, I heard loud noises coming from inside. At first, I thought someone’s kids were playing inside late at night or maybe the aircon unit was breaking down again (as usual, MCST takes forever to repair).
I used my phone flashlight to see if the door was unlocked so I could check it out. Low and behold, through the glass wall, I saw two figures on the function room sofa.
I turned off my light real quick and looked closer.
It was our MCST Management Committee Chairman—this 50-plus-year-old married uncle who always acts super pious and aggressive during AGMs, complaining about residents leaving bicycles in the common corridor—absolutely going at it with one of our condo’s night-shift cleaning aunties.
I stood there stunned like vegetable for a solid 10 seconds. My mind couldn’t compute. This chairman uncle literally just posted a long, passive-aggressive rant on our condo WhatsApp group three days ago about “maintaining high moral standards and discipline in shared common facilities.” Then here he is, utilizing the function room facilities for FREE without paying the $150 booking fee or deposit!
I didn’t take any video because I was too shocked and honestly didn’t want to get sued for POHA, but I accidentally dropped my parcel on the floor. The loud thud startled them, and I saw the chairman scramble up frantically trying to pull up his pants while the auntie ran straight into the function room pantry. I immediately packed my things and ran back to my block like I was doing NAPFA test 2.4km run.
Now the problem is, every time I see him at the lift lobby, he gives me this super suspicious look, like he’s trying to figure out if I was the person outside that night.
What should I do sia? Should I drop an anonymous tip to his wife, bring it up during the next AGM under “unauthorized usage of common property,” or just keep my mouth shut and ask him for a free parking lot permit?
