CHINA EASTERN AIRLINES PLANE CRASHED WITH 132 PEOPLE ABOARD

A China Eastern Airlines plane with 132 passengers aboard, crashed in Guangxi, China, on 21 March, in what is the worst aviation disaster in recent times.

About 1,000 rescuers have been activated to the crash site in Teng County, but rescue efforts have been made more complicated with the challenging terrain.

The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) said in a statement on 21 March:

“A Boeing 737 of China Eastern Airlines lost contact over Wuzhou during the Kunming-Guangzhou flight. The plane is now confirmed to have crashed.”

Of the 132 people aboard the plane, 123 of them were passengers and 9 of them were crew.

At the time of writing, there have been no confirmed number of casualties yet.

President of China Xi Jinping has ordered a full investigation into the plane crash, with the CAAC and Ministry of Emergency management have sent teams to aid with the search and rescue.
