CIVET DEAD IN MIDDLE OF SG ROAD, KIND MAN BURIES IT SO IT WON’T BE DISCARDED LIKE TRASH

In a world often filled with news of tragedy, stories of human kindness and empathy bring a glimmer of hope. One such heartening incident occurred when a deceased civet was found on the road, prompting a compassionate individual to take immediate action to prevent further harm.

On the night of July 1st, a member of the public stumbled upon the lifeless body of a civet. The precise location of the incident was not disclosed, but according to the post shared on the Singapore Wildlife Sightings Facebook group, the area was described to have a nearby forest that had been partly cleared for other purposes.

The unfortunate civet was suspected to have met its untimely demise after being struck by a vehicle. Spatters of blood around the animal on the road hinted at the tragic nature of the incident. The collision with the vehicle claimed the life of the civet, leaving it vulnerable and exposed on the road.

Recognizing the potential danger posed by leaving the carcass on the road, the compassionate individual took matters into his own hands. Instead of simply leaving the deceased civet exposed to the risk of being repeatedly run over by other vehicles, the kind-hearted person decided to bury the animal.

Here is what he said

Found this dead Civet Cat along my neighbourhood road, which a car sadly ran over last Sat night.

Likely one of the few living in my area after it’s home, a forest nearby, was mostly cleared for housing and met its unfortunate end.

But the fact the driver killed this Civet just left it like this, lying in the middle of the road where other oncoming cars can still run over it, is just sad since the road was more than quiet enough for him to at least move it to the side.

As a result, I properly buried the Civet in what’s left of the forest to let it rest in peace and not get “discarded” like trash the next day.

It’s also the least I could do, since we humans and our greed are the reason why it ended up in this sorry state.

I just sincerely hope our gov not continue destroying the little wildlife left as, one day, there might be none.
