The COE premiums for vehicles in the open category hit its highest in 28 years, after it rose 1 percent to $99,999 in the latest bidding exercise on 6 April.
This is the highest level that the prices have reached since December 1994, where the premiums for vehicles in Category 4 reached $110,500.
All across the categories, the COE premiums have increase in the latest bidding exercise, save for large cars, which fell for the first time since January this year.
For small cars up to 1,600cc or 97kW, the premiums rose to $72,996, up 2.01 percent.
For large cars above 1,600cc or 97kW, it fell from $98,889 to $98,389, a fall of $500.
For vehicles and buses ferrying goods, it rose to $54,901, an increase of 6.6 percent.
For motorcycles, it rose from $10,501 to $10,503, an increase of $2.
