With the recent saga ongoing about the actual weight of the meat sold by NTUC FairPrice being much lesser than the weight indicated on the packaging, reporters from the Shin Min Daily News decided to go to other supermarket outlets like Cold Storage, Sheng Shiong and even NTUC FairPrice to find out if it is the same situation there.
According to Shin Min Daily News, here are the findings that they have discovered after their field trips to various of these outlets.
None of them gave lesser than indicated
The outlets which the reporter went for the field trip to check on the allegations showed that none of them charged more for less.
The NTUC FairPrice outlet which the reporter went to gave exactly what was indicated on the packaging.
The packet of chicken meat which the reporter picked was exactly as it weighed at 174g.
Cold Storage
The Cold Storage outlet which the reporter went to actually gave more meat than the weight that was indicated.
The packet of chicken fillet which the reporter had picked up weighed 375g instead of what was indicated on the packaging at 300g.
That is a whopping 75g more or 25% more meat than what was indicated.
Sheng Siong
The Sheng Siong outlet which the reporter went to also gave more meat than the weight that was indicated.
The packet of chicken meat which the reporter had picked up weighed 273g instead of what was indicated on the packaging at 252g.
That is 21g more or roughly 8% more meat than what was indicated.
No particular reason why
There were no particular reasons indicated in the article as to why the certain outlets which was visited by the reporter gave more than what was expected.
The report also did not indicate which outlets did the reporter go to for the field trip for investigation.
