The successful bidder is ComfortDelGro Driving Centre Pte. Ltd., which submitted the highest tender price for the project. The awarded bid amounts to S$38 million, translating to approximately S$524.14 per square metre of gross floor area.

The development will be located on a site area of 24,889.2 square metres, with a maximum permissible gross floor area of 72,500 square metres. The project is designated for a multi-storey driving centre, reflecting a shift towards vertical development to optimise limited land resources.

Next-Generation Facility To Support Future Driving Needs

The proposed Next-Generation Driving Centre is expected to support evolving training requirements, potentially incorporating advanced simulation technologies and modern facility designs. Such upgrades align with broader efforts to enhance road safety education and improve learner experience.

Multi-storey driving centres are increasingly seen as a practical solution in land-scarce Singapore, enabling more comprehensive facilities within a smaller footprint. This approach allows for the integration of classroom spaces, practical training areas and administrative functions under one roof.

Authorities have indicated that the new centre will contribute to the long-term planning of driver education infrastructure. As vehicle technologies evolve — including the rise of electric vehicles and advanced driver-assistance systems — training facilities are expected to adapt accordingly.

Further details on construction timelines and operational plans are anticipated to be announced in due course.
