This is because commuters might be asked to go through a security screening, as part of Exercise Station Guard.

The Exercise Station Guard is a regular exercise that validates the security measures at public transport nodes.

it also helps commuters to familiarise themselves with how to respond should they be an emergency that happens on the public transport network.

LTA also advised commuters to factor in additional travel time on their commute and to avoid bringing in bulky items.

#HappeningNow

Travelling to/from Bugis MRT station on the #DTL or #EWL today?

You may be asked to go through a security screening as part of Exercise Station Guard. This exercise is conducted regularly to validate our security measures at public transport nodes and help familiarise commuters on how they should respond if there’s an emergency on our public transport network.

Do factor in additional travel time for the screening and avoid bringing bulky items.

Thank you for playing your part to ensure our public transport system continues to be safe and secure for all commuters like you and I.
