A company director in Singapore has been penalised for vending shisha at two eateries in Kampong Glam devoid of certificates, the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) said on 21/6.
Mr Rupesh Kumar Singh which maintained Nasrin Restaurant at 58 Arab Street was the director of Tehrani Corporation Pte Ltd. He was also director of Sufi Corner Pte Ltd which run the Sufi’s Corner at 56 Arab Street.
For tobacco linked offences in 2014 both the outlets had their tobacco retail licences retracted.
In spite of that, they sustained to vend shisha tobacco molasses on numerous times to consumers from September 2014 to November 2014, HSA said.
It is an crime to vend tobacco goods without a lawful authorisation in Singapore.
Any person found guilty can be fined up to $5,000, and in the case of a second or subsequent conviction, fined up to $10,000.
