A BMW driver in Singapore was seen scolding a condominium security guard after his car was wheel clamped for purportedly parking improperly on the premises, according to Sin Min Daily News.
The incident took place at a condominium along Sin Ming Road on the afternoon of 3 April.
The man, who is believed to be a resident at the condominium, also reportedly took a video of the incident and shared it with the condominium residents’ group chat, and one of the residents in the group chat then forwarded the video.
The man was seen in the video scolding the security officer and demanding that the wheel clamp from his BMW is unlocked, pointing at the guard and cursing at him.
The man reportedly told the security guard that his son finishes school at 1.30 pm and he can’t fetch his son because of “people like you,” adding that “it’s your interest to embarrass other people!”
He also questioned why his BMW was wheel clamped, to which the guard explained to the agitated man that it was because he had parked his car improperly.
The man then cut off the security guard mid-sentence and asked him “You know how many condominium units I have here? I have more than 2 units here!”
The security guard then asked the man to continue the conversation under shelter, but the man told him “Since you like to make things difficult for other people, just fall sick and since you are poor, you will die.”
The female resident in the group chat who shared the video said that after the man had shared the video with the group chat, they condemned him for his behaviour, with many of them feeling bad for the guard who was just doing his job.
The man also reportedly reported the incident to the police, and the police said that they have received a report on Monday at about 1.10 pm, but advised the involved parties to resolve the civil matter amicably among themselves.
The Union of Security Employees (USE) also issued a statement on Facebook, saying that they are reaching out to the security officer and will assist him in lodging a police report against the BMW driver.
