
Fend Ming Construction has been fined $56,500 for damaging water main and conducting an unauthorized work at Dunearn Road. The damage has caused a disruption to the water supply of 38 households.
The incident happened in September 2019, the company has caused damage to a 500 mm diameter water main. On the day of the incident, the company was doing a sheet piling work. While the workers were doing the installation, they had punctured the water main that was located 2.5 meters under the ground.
The PUB was alerted immediately and urgent repair work was carried out. The damage has disrupted the water supply of 38 households. The disruption lasted for 9.5 hrs and water wagons were deployed to supply water supplies to those affected.
This has been the highest fine never imposed by the State Court for damaging water main. $55,000 for damaging the water main and $1,500 for conducting unauthorised work.
